Chapter 2: I Became Boa Hancock

Chapter 2: I Became Boa Hancock

I opened my eyes, feeling knowledge naturally flowing into my mind. Truly—I was certain that I had awakened to a life of pleasure.

After all, the knowledge now flooding my brain was clearly the memories of Boa Hancock up until the age of five. Currently, I was in Amazon Lily, the Island of Women.

And one of the defining features of Amazon Lily was that there were no men. Because of that, in order to bear children, they had to acquire men from outside. Of course, it was forbidden to bring men directly into the island, so they merely brought back the seed.

Therefore, the one who seemed to be Boa Hancock’s mother had likely acted as a pirate, captured a man to get his seed, became pregnant, and gave birth to her. And then, naturally, the mother returned to her life as a pirate, leaving the child behind…

No—rather than saying she was abandoned, it might be more accurate to say that was just the way things were on this island. To go outside and obtain seed, one had to become a pirate. And to become a pirate, one needed a certain level of combat power. That was simply how Amazon Lily worked, where only skilled warriors could join the Kuja Pirates.

Naturally, her mother was a strong warrior, and Amazon Lily couldn’t afford to let such a warrior idle.

The Kuja Pirates were always busy—pillaging supplies, acquiring men, and defending the island from lecherous enemies. Every warrior was precious. Even one mother could not be spared, which is why she was sent back to the Kuja Pirates as soon as she gave birth.

Thus, while only warriors could give birth to children, they couldn’t afford to raise them. As a result, Amazon Lily developed a communal childcare system where everyone except the mother helped raise the children.

Thanks to this, Boa Hancock was also raised communally in Amazon Lily and had never seen her mother. Under normal circumstances, she might have met her at least once, but unfortunately, her mother died while serving in the Kuja Pirates before Hancock even became conscious of herself. As for her father, she had no idea who he was…

    ‘What a harsh place…’

Recalling this knowledge, I clicked my tongue. Well, it’s not like she’s my real mother, and since Boa Hancock never even met her, it’s not something to be sad about anyway…

“Anyway, I have nothing to complain about in terms of food and shelter!!”

Even without a mother, Amazon Lily’s childcare system made up for it. So I decided not to worry about the parents I only knew through these memories and instead focused on my current situation as I sat up.

    Rustle—

I had woken up in a clearing in the forest. Apparently, I had come out here to play. Brushing off my clothes, I headed toward the nearby river to see my reflection.

“Wha… So this is Boa Hancock? Even at this age, she’s no joke!”

Despite being just five years old, my reflection was unbelievably cute—almost beautiful enough to foresee her future as a stunning beauty. She still had some baby fat, but she already looked beautiful…

Seriously, she’s something else. I could now understand why she was called a peerless beauty, one of the most gorgeous women in the world. Anyway, now that I had confirmed her appearance, the next thing I needed to check was—her strength and talent. I stood up and began to run.

    —Thudthudthudthud!!!

    “!!! I’m fast!!!”

The wind rushed past my face, and I couldn’t help but shout in surprise. Despite the tree looming right ahead, I stayed eerily calm, accelerating further instead of stopping. I used the momentum to leap into the air.

    —Whoooosh!!!

My small body soared high—easily surpassing my own height. As a tree branch rapidly approached, I instinctively grabbed it—smack!—spun around, and landed on top of the branch with perfect balance.

“…So this is the physical ability of humans in the Oda World…!!”

    ‘This is beyond ridiculous…!!’

It might be thanks to being born in the land of warriors, Amazon Lily, but even so, for a five-year-old to completely surpass my previous life’s adult body was unbelievable. Her physical ability was way beyond what I thought possible for a human.

Even with a running start, that jump height was easily two or three times her height. Running speed? With that burst, she could probably run 100 meters in under eight seconds.

And despite being a child, her grip strength was strong enough to leave handprints in the tree branch she grabbed.

Her skin looked soft and pale, but even after swinging around a rough tree branch, there wasn’t a single scratch—not even a bruise.

Clearly, this strength went far beyond that of ordinary humans.

So this is why—humans in the Oda World could become such monsters… If a child’s untrained body held this much potential, it made sense that one could grow into something incredible through training.

Realizing this, I clenched my fist tightly. The grip strength surged naturally. This was likely the power of the new life I’d entered. I could now fully feel Boa Hancock’s potential and abilities as if they were my own. That must be why I could respond so naturally and calmly, even in such a confusing situation.

If I had felt even a hint of dissonance, I probably would’ve crashed right into that tree.

    “Heave-ho!”

Having confirmed my body’s capabilities, I casually dropped from the high branch. The height would’ve definitely broken my legs in my past life, and I would’ve been too scared to try—but now, I landed easily and began making my way back to the village, just as I remembered.

After adapting a bit more, I planned to officially begin my training.

“Did you come back from playing again today?”

“Nyong Granny! Yep! I was out playing!!!”

The one watching over the children in the Kuja City was Gloriosa, the former former former Empress. In the original story, she was often called ‘Nyong Granny.’ Given her age and experience, she was assigned to take care of the children.

You might think caring for kids isn’t an easy job, but don’t forget—this was the Oda World. It was a world where mammoth-sized monsters could lurk in the forest. Compared to gathering herbs out there, taking care of children was definitely the easier job.

“Hmm!!! This old woman told you not to go to dangerous places…”

“I-I didn’t go that far, so don’t worry!!!”

I replied with a guilty expression. Thanks to the memories in my head, I could naturally respond this way. Thinking back, Boa Hancock had always been a little troublemaker who loved wandering around. Despite Nyong Granny’s daily warnings, she often snuck out into the forest to play.

No wonder she ended up getting captured by the Celestial Dragons later on… Shaking my head, I corrected myself.

“And from now on, I won’t go into the forest anymore! Promise!!!”

    “Oh?! Really?”

“Something I want to do came up!! I don’t have time to play in the forest anymore!”

    “Something you want to do?”

“Yep! Nyong Granny! I’m going to get strong!! So I’ve decided to start training today!”

    “Training, you say?!”

    “Yep!!!”

Nyong Granny looked at me with genuine surprise. Well, who wouldn’t be surprised if a five-year-old troublemaker suddenly decided to grow up overnight and declare they were going to train?

Of course, I had no intention of explaining the whole possession situation. I ignored her reaction and returned to the village, starting preparations for my training in earnest.

Instead of training blindly, it was better to train efficiently. There were many things I wanted to try. Especially to put into practice all the training methods I’d read about in real life.
