Chapter 189: Hotels
by AfuhfuihgsHayoon and Seo Ji-woo arrived and immediately crashed.
Seo Ji-woo, still under the lingering effects of the sleeping pill, could fall asleep the moment she closed her eyes.
Hayoon, having stubbornly stayed awake during the long flight, also promptly drooled and fell asleep as soon as she lay down on the plush mattress of the famous LA hotel.
“Ugh!”
And when Hayoon came to, it was already morning.
“No need to adjust to the time difference…”
Hayoon mumbled, scratching her disheveled hair after waking up.
“Heehee…”
Seo Ji-woo was still in dreamland, apparently having a good dream. Hayoon yawned and went into the bathroom.
Today, they had to eat breakfast and leave the hotel immediately.
Since it was a long-term stay, they would leave their luggage in the hotel room, but it was better to prepare leisurely.
She immediately turned on the shower and started washing.
“The water in America isn’t that different.”
She had heard that countries other than Korea or Japan had water with a lot of lime, but she didn’t feel a significant difference.
“My skin won’t break out or anything later, right?”
Hayoon tilted her head but proceeded to wash her body thoroughly with the shampoo, conditioner, and body wash she had brought from Korea.
All she had done on the plane was sit, but since she had fallen asleep as soon as she entered the hotel yesterday, she felt a bit grimy.
After washing thoroughly, she came out of the bathroom and sat at the vanity.
As she dried her signature long, straight hair, she started taking out her cosmetics and preparing to do her makeup.
Seo Ji-woo, who had been burying her face in the fluffy hotel bed pillow and kicking her legs like a puppy trying to dig, suddenly sprang up.
“Nghaaa!”
It was incredibly loud.
She had a very lively side, but Hayoon didn’t dislike that about Seo Ji-woo.
She chuckled, looked at the mirror in the center of the vanity again, and then looked at Seo Ji-woo through the mirror.
“Hurry up and wash, Ji-woo. We have to play today.”
“Right! We have to play!”
How should one put it? Seo Ji-woo was really like a younger sister.
They weren’t related by blood, and they were the same age, but perhaps because of her small frame, Hayoon truly thought of Seo Ji-woo as her younger sister. She was a really cute kid.
“I’ll go wash up!”
Seo Ji-woo, having slept soundly and feeling little fatigue, grabbed a change of clothes and dashed into the bathroom.
The sound of a full-blown shower echoed from beyond the wall, and Hayoon refocused on her makeup.
Initially, Hayoon only wore makeup for cosplay, but now she often wore it in her daily life.
Perhaps because she was the CEO of an unusual MCN for Vtubers in her early twenties, there were surprisingly many business partners who looked down on Hayoon.
Makeup was essential to overwhelm them with her aura, and she didn’t want to be underestimated in America for being Asian, so she applied her makeup meticulously.
“Well, this isn’t too bad.”
Her features became sharper, yet she didn’t look fierce.
It was makeup that incorporated Hayoon’s own know-how, focusing on beauty.
Hayoon, having checked her reflection in the vanity mirror, smiled satisfactorily.
“Phew, all done washing.”
Seo Ji-woo, having finished washing, came out in her underwear, towel-drying her hair, and approached the vanity to borrow the hairdryer.
Since Seo Ji-woo always kept her hair below her shoulders, drying her hair was much quicker than for Hayoon.
“I’ll change my clothes right away, so can you do my makeup for me, Hayoon?”
“Me again?”
“No, I mean, it’s obvious that no matter how hard I try, I can’t do makeup as well as a professional cosplayer, right?”
“So you’re going to take the easy way out?”
“Hehe.”
Seo Ji-woo quickly changed her clothes, then presented her face to Hayoon, granting her full control.
Hayoon chuckled at Seo Ji-woo and, gathering her own cosmetics, turned to start preparing Seo Ji-woo. There was no reason not to grant her request for makeup, and there was definitely a sense of satisfaction that came from personally grooming Seo Ji-woo.
“I’m doing it my way, okay?”
“Yeah, yeah.”
With the heart of a middle schooler who had received an all-access pass to an amusement park, Hayoon diligently dolled up Seo Ji-woo.
“Good morning.”
After getting ready, Hayoon and Seo Ji-woo went down to the buffet floor where the hotel breakfast was served and joined Jonathan Woo, who was staying in a single room on a different floor.
“Morning. Hotel. Lunch Disneyland. Okay?”
“Yeah, okay.”
“Oh, okay.”
Jonathan Woo, a native English speaker who nonetheless spoke in broken-down words for Hayoon and Seo Ji-woo’s sake, was there.
Hayoon and Seo Ji-woo, having filled their plates with dishes recommended by Jonathan, ate the delicious hotel breakfast with ecstatic expressions.
“Wow, chicken…”
“Feels like eating KHC?” (TL: KHC likely refers to KFC)
“It is KHC chicken. This hotel collaborates with them, so it’s cooked with the exact same recipe and placed in the breakfast buffet.”
“Oh…”
“No wonder…”
The fact that a famous chicken brand’s chicken was available at the buffet said it all.
Besides that, there was a self-serve hamburger corner, buffet pizza, and more.
The two, who had finished their breakfast at this paradise-like buffet filled with foods that young people in their early twenties like Hayoon and Seo Ji-woo, who could handle greasy food well, couldn’t help but love…
“Wow, crazy…”
“Really crazy…”
They entered Disneyland right around lunchtime.
Beautiful sculptures greeted Hayoon and Seo Ji-woo, making the long wait in line to enter worthwhile.
It truly felt like a scene from a fairy tale had been brought to life.
“Should I have come in cosplay… What a shame…”
Hayoon expressed her regret upon seeing that surprisingly many people had come in cosplay.
It was a chronic ailment of cosplayers.
When they didn’t cosplay on a day when others did, they would regret not having done so.
“Yeah, it would have been fun if Hayoon came dressed as a princess.”
“Right?”
With encouragement from the side, her regret doubled.
Still, cosplay wasn’t the only thing to enjoy in a place like this.
“Alright, hello, viewers. This is Haru.”
First, she attached her secondary phone for filming to a selfie stick and started recording.
“Alright, I’m recording in America. Well, as you all know my real face, I’m Haru.”
Slightly.
When she turned the phone camera towards Seo Ji-woo, Seo Ji-woo, as if waiting, covered her face with both hands.
Her face would be covered by the Lucy character anyway, but it was right to cover what could be exposed, just in case it was accidentally revealed through an editor.
“This is Lucy. We were both invited to the Z Tab showcase here in LA, so we came, and we’re doing some sightseeing while we’re here. And this person here is.”
“Uh, um… me?”
“Yes, would you like to introduce yourself?”
“Uh, um… Jonathan Woo, 33 years old, have wife, no kids. That’s me.”
“Yes, this was Jonathan, who is guiding us. It’s thanks to Jonathan that I can so leisurely film with my phone on a selfie stick here in America.”
Hayoon, a pro streamer, also casually revealed that Jonathan was married, thereby preemptively shutting down any shady misunderstandings among the viewers.
When running an MCN, one often lurks in online communities, and there were many who created malicious rumors if one was even slightly involved with a man.
Hayoon, having left this video as evidence to block misunderstandings, put her filming phone back in her bag.
“Now let’s really play!”
The daily quest was complete.
To truly enjoy themselves, she ran towards the attractions first.
“Ugh…”
“So tired…”
“Can we even go to the showcase tomorrow like this…”
“Haaaah…”
From lunch until evening.
Hayoon and Seo Ji-woo, having spent the entire half-day playing at Disneyland, returned to the hotel completely exhausted.
The two, after washing up and changing into pajamas, lay on their respective beds, busy catching their breath.
Although they had barely eaten due to exhaustion, they had eaten dinner, so it wouldn’t be long before the two of them fell asleep.
“Hayoon…”
“Yeah?”
“How many schedules do we have left?”
“Well, tomorrow we go to the showcase filming, and the day after that, out of courtesy, we’ll go see the home appliance showcase, not just Z Tab.”
“Oh dear.”
“The day after that, we’ll rest fully at the hotel, and the remaining two days are basically free time?”
“That’s a relief. We only have to suffer for two more days…”
Drowsiness began to creep in.
As they discussed work in a dry atmosphere, drowsiness now relentlessly washed over them.
“Hooo.”
“Nghaaa…”
And so, just as Hayoon and Seo Ji-woo were yawning widely and about to fall asleep…
“Hng!”
“…?”
“…?”
A strange sound erupted.
Hayoon and Seo Ji-woo weren’t idiots.
Considering this was a hotel, they couldn’t not know what that sound was.
“Uh…”
“Ha, haha…”
Hayoon and Seo Ji-woo laughed awkwardly and tried to fall asleep.
