Chapter 18 – Floor 3. Flying Slime Monster
The heart-stirring confrontation between two slime blobs is about to unfold right here!
Wriggle!
Wriggle-wiggle!
A slime radiating a brilliant white light versus a mutant cannibalistic monstrosity with overwhelming mass.
They reached a standoff, undulating their bodies threateningly as if sizing each other up.
Would the blessed blue slime truly be different in some way?
It puffed up its body and threatened the Giant Slime, a mini-boss with far superior specs, without yielding an inch in intimidation.
The sight was reminiscent of Xiang Yu’s legendary display of bravery and spirit.
“Wow…”
If I had my way, I’d be watching this with 3D glasses and a deluxe-sized popcorn, but this damn dungeon wasn’t a facility that offered such audience considerations.
WHOOSH!!!
The first to move was the Giant Slime, which had been cautiously eyeing the onahole containing approximately 0.000013% holy essence.
Somehow managing to jump with that massive body, it leaped to a height reaching the sewer ceiling and began falling to crush the slime beneath it.
But for the slime that had just become godly after receiving a blessing, such an attack was painfully slow!
Wriggle!
BOOM!!!
Another explosive sound echoed throughout the sewer, like a bomb going off, accompanied by several well-fitted bricks from the walls and floor crumbling and plopping into the water, and the sounds of frightened creatures fleeing.
But during that moment, the newly godly slime managed to dodge the attack and deliver a critical counter!
It wasn’t quite the same heart-stirring confrontation, but perhaps because they were both slimes, the blessed slime took no damage from the Giant Slime’s physical attack and instead sparkled inside the larger creature like a disco ball.
‘What the hell.’
Holy light refracted through the slime’s interior and escaped, illuminating the underground sewer.
“Wow~ Looks like I was fucking a light bulb rather than an onahole.”
Separately from that, the floor, badly cracked from the Giant Slime’s impact, looked like it would collapse with a few more hits.
“This really is useless…”
“This isn’t the time to be calmly admiring things. It will begin attacking again. Though crude due to its lack of intelligence, even that would be threatening to someone like you.”
“Is that so?”
As Severa advised, this wasn’t the time to be leisurely.
I quickly checked Severa’s status window and saw that her Fuel meter was down to only 3.
“How many spells left in the staff?”
“…One.”
The wand of flames had 5 charges of fireballs.
Once all charges were used, it couldn’t be used again until recharged by consuming Magic points.
Naturally, recharging costs turns. You could say that’s the drawback of its overwhelming firepower.
‘Asribe’s dress makes it a bit hard to check the remaining charges.’
Since the damage was clearly different, I could tell by checking the logs, but I couldn’t search through logs that had already scrolled upward during combat.
“Fire your last fireball. Make sure you hit.”
At my command, Severa raised her staff and aimed it at the Giant Slime with a displeased expression.
The Giant Slime was surprisingly agile for its size.
I could tell by how it had managed to dodge one of Severa’s frantically fired fireballs.
If this fireball missed, we’d need to expend much more to kill it.
‘Plus, this bastard grew by eating its own kind. Would the slime get eaten too?’
Come to think of it, the slime trapped inside it was in quite a dangerous situation.
If left alone, there was a high possibility it would be dissolved and become one with the Giant Slime.
And if that happened, would the blessed state transfer to the Giant Slime? My gamer’s instinct made me curious, but the slime was an asset I needed to descend through the dungeon, so I couldn’t experiment with it.
“If my godly onahole breaks, you’ll pay for it! A bastard like you can’t even fit in a backpack, so you can’t even be used as an onahole!”
Just as Severa’s fireball was about to be completed and fired.
I began running straight toward the Giant Slime, banging my sword against my shield.
Clang- clang- clang-
The loud metallic noise.
Bubble bubble bubble—
The fluid composing its body began to boil as if it had recognized me running toward it, and high-speed slime bullets came flying.
There was no way I could deflect those with my sword at my skill level.
I lowered my body and raised my shield to cover my face, which I expected would be hit by the slime bullets.
CLANG! CRASH! CLANG!
“Ugh..!”
From an impact as heavy as being struck with a large hammer, my arm flew upward, and the shield tied to it was half-destroyed, fragmenting and flying away.
It was already in poor condition, so this couldn’t be helped.
Having held up this long, it had already done its job sufficiently.
‘Shit… I think my arm’s broken!’
But the plan succeeded as the Giant Slime recognized me and attacked.
I immediately dove to the floor and submerged myself in the sewer water.
The water level usually only reached my calves, making submersion impossible, but thanks to the rain, it had risen enough to fully cover my body.
BOOOOOOOOOOOM!!!
The warm heat and vibration I felt on my back the moment I entered the water.
And the log window informing me of the situation.
[The Giant Slime took 41 damage.]
[The Specter of the Past, Severa, has returned to Wraith Onahole form.]
SIZZLE—
Before the hot sensation could fully fade, I pushed off the bottom and ran forward again.
Dazed by Severa’s fireball, the Giant Slime didn’t notice me approaching and was trembling its massive body.
I delivered a powerful downward slash.
Squelch— With a sensation like cutting through sticky liquid adhesive, the surface that had maintained the creature’s form was split.
[The Giant Slime took 4 damage.]
It was less than a tenth of the damage Severa had dealt, but that didn’t matter. This wasn’t meant to inflict damage anyway.
Without stopping, I continued swinging my sword, scooping out the slime flowing from inside its body. Consecutive damage logs appeared, but they were meaningless content I ignored.
Squish— Squish—
The holy light gradually came closer.
Along with the slime flowing in the sewer current, the slime was poured out as if being dragged along.
“Godly onahole! Sanctify!”
Blessed items not only have increased specs but also all gain a single magic called “Sanctify.”
With just one charge, it only inflicts magic damage to the surrounding area, but the ability to have a magic spell equipped on any part of your gear is a significant advantage.
And items with the onahole tag transfer their blessed status to their summoned creatures.
Fwooosh-!
The slime’s body glowed with an even brighter light and rose into the air.
Floating in the sky like an unidentified flying object, the slime looked like a flying slime monster!
“AAAAAAAAARGH!!! YOU FUCKING BITCH! MY EYES!”
Light poured down as if a high-powered lamp was shining directly in my face. If there was a problem, it was that the light blinded me.
[You took 17 damage.]
[The Giant Slime took 26 damage.]
[You defeated the Giant Slime.]
[You have leveled up.]
“KYEEEEEEEEEEEEEK!!! THE ONAHOLE IS ATTACKING ITS MASTER!!! IT’S THE ONAHOLE REBELLION!!! THE END OF THE WORLD IS COMING!!!”
***
I rubbed my still blurry eyes as I recovered Severa, who had returned to onahole form and was floating nearby.
If I had known Sanctify was an eye-blinding attack, I would have at least closed my eyes.
“Ugh…”
By the time my vision properly cleared after rubbing my eyelids, the slime was bouncing around, flying in the air in front of me.
“Now it can fly without even eating levitation herbs…”
After returning the creature that had become a perfect flying slime monster back to its onahole form, I rummaged through the spot where the Giant Slime had died.
The sticky slime stuck to my legs, making it difficult to move, but I couldn’t leave without collecting the rewards.
“Even when it was just a game, I rarely tried killing all the mini-bosses while descending, but here I am doing it.”
I’ve only defeated the specter and the Giant Slime so far, but I’m planning to fight the Wanderer when I get to Floor 4, so I’m basically encountering all the mini-bosses in the sewer area.
Naturally, mini-bosses are all strong enough to deserve the name “boss.” They’re on a different level from the ordinary enemies appearing on the same floor, and even I barely managed to defeat them.
In a run with such poor equipment drops, I wouldn’t normally even attempt this, but fortunately, I could rely on the performance of my onaholes.
“Ah, found it.”
A small chest discovered among the rivers of stretched slime.
The chest, with what appeared to be silver trimming, maintained its elegant form despite being submerged in slime, and though I wasn’t certain, it looked like the silver chest that appears after defeating a mini-boss.
Naturally, without such rewards, there would be no reason to fight mini-bosses.
Since reward chests can’t be mimics, I confidently opened the silver chest.
Click- Creak—
The chest revealed its contents with a creaking sound, as if its hinges were slightly rusted.
Inside were a staff with a blue jewel embedded in it, a crudely sharpened black axe, sturdily crafted plate gauntlets, and three unknown scrolls.
Lastly, there was a small bottle containing a liquid that looked like Powerade, something I had never seen in 3,000 hours of playing D.D.
“Yes… this is sex! What else is sex?”
I smiled with satisfaction at the dazzlingly bright equipment.
Asribe’s dress, a semi-artifact that could be considered a named item, was a great acquisition from Floor 3, but for someone like me who was closer to melee than mage, these pieces of equipment were far more excellent.
Plus, there was a new staff mixed in, making the results even better.
“This is a staff of frost.”
It’s the same tier as the wand of flames with slightly lower firepower, but I valued the staff of frost more for its ability to inflict the frostbite debuff.
The black axe had no special effects but was a Tier 2 weapon with a base damage nearly twice that of the silver longsword, and the plate gauntlets were higher tier armor for a body part I didn’t have covered yet.
“I’ll identify the scrolls later… but what is this liquid?”
A small bottle containing a sloshing liquid.
It was clearly smaller than a regular potion, so I could tell it wasn’t an ordinary potion.
“An elixir? It doesn’t seem like that either. Whatever, I’ll just take it for now.”
Unlike in D.D., I didn’t need to match my inventory exactly, so it didn’t matter if my backpack was stuffed to the point of bursting.
So I organized the items from the chest, discarded the now useless dagger, and equipped the gauntlets and axe, immediately feeling my body become noticeably heavier.
Probably because I had a low Strength stat despite carrying so much heavy equipment.
Wondering if I should start investing in Strength, I walked toward the stairs leading to Floor 4.
