    Chapter 17: The Unyielding Rebel

Two completely opposite reactions emerged in response to the unexpected betrayal.

[How dare you play another game?]

[You abandoned Warrior of the Gods the moment you got famous?]

    [Hey, you damn brat!]

[Do you even have a conscience?!]

[What happened after you antagonized the Water God?]

    [I’m dying of curiosity here!]

[Damn it. I was a fool for believing in you.]

[Common sense says you should finish what you started…]

[Seyul, the woman who tramples all over tradition.]

    [Give me back my devotion!]

The ones who had been desperately waiting for the next part of Warrior of the Gods,

the fans who had been there since day one were furious.

[Well, it’s her choice what game she plays.]

[I’m just here to see her face, so I don’t care.]

    [Missed you]

    <Huuung has donated 20,000 won.>

    [Me too!]

    <Unicorn has donated 500,000 won.>

    [Wow! A real silver-haired beauty!]

    <Wahaman has donated 100,000 won.>

Meanwhile, those who only came to admire Seyul’s appearance were simply grateful that she was streaming at all.

[By the way, what game is this?]

Whether they were criticizing her or showing their support,

there was one thing they all had in common none of them knew what game she was playing.

They had all rushed into the stream without checking.

[Holy shit! How long has it been since we last saw a stream of Untouchable?!]

As the confused viewers murmured among themselves, a new wave of people started answering their questions.

    [It’s been forever!]

[Wait, judging by the thumbnail, is the streamer a girl?]

[Not just any girl she looks like she jumped straight out of a light novel.]

[There are so many viewers. Is she a famous streamer?]

[Maybe she’s a popular female streamer using this game to attract more viewers?]

[Who cares? I’m just happy she’s playing it.]

As soon as Seyul launched the new game, the title appeared on screen.

Seeing it, fans of the game who had been lurking around noticed the high viewer count and assumed she was a well-known streamer.

More and more people started flooding in, chatting amongst themselves.

    [Untouchable?]

    [You mean that military game?]

    Untouchable.

    A military FPS game.

It wasn’t as mainstream as Warrior of the Gods, but it had a dedicated fanbase.

Most people had at least heard of it.

<You were once a special agent of a powerful nation.>

Right on cue, the narration began.

<Carrying out countless missions in the name of your country, you achieved legendary feats.>

<But during one such mission, you stumbled upon classified information secrets your country never wanted you to know.>

<Deemed a liability, you were framed and cast aside.>

<Dishonorably discharged, left in despair… until one day, a letter arrived.>

<It was from Untouchable, a multinational private military company that had been making waves in the industry.>

<They claimed to recruit soldiers abandoned by their nations and offered you a chance to join.>

<Intrigued, you boarded the helicopter sent by Untouchable and made your way to their headquarters.>

<But what awaited you was an unexpected truth… and a fateful decision.>

As the narration ended, a helicopter soared through the sky.

It began descending toward an island.

A secluded island somewhere in the South Pacific—

    The secret headquarters of Untouchable.

As expected from a private military company, the headquarters resembled a military base.

Armed guards, numbering at least a hundred, patrolled the perimeter.

Right in the middle of it all, the helicopter landed.

Then, the protagonist who had supposedly arrived to join Untouchable stepped out.

    And at that moment—

    [Hehehe.]

    [LMAO.]

    Laughter exploded in the chat.

The protagonist of this game was supposed to be an ex-military officer.

Naturally, the character’s outfit was strictly military-style.

    Green camouflage pants.

    A short-sleeved green combat shirt.

And a dog tag hanging from their neck.

The problem was that this outfit looked absolutely ridiculous on Seyul.

A small girl with long silver hair, standing at barely 140 cm she had the fantasy-like appearance of a little child.

Wearing a military uniform didn’t make her look like a soldier. It just made her seem like a kid in a cheap cosplay.

[Did you steal your uncle’s uniform?]

    [Aww, baby soldier.]

[Commencing combat rations for the toddler!]

[How is this person supposed to be a former soldier?]

[The game setting and appearance don’t match at all.]

[A terrorist would probably freeze in shock if they saw her.]

[Starting with child soldiers already? That’s brutal.]

[She looks like one of those fake soldier girls in light novels.]

[Reminds me of that white-haired girl with an eyepatch from Infinity Something.]

[Oh, that one who starts with ‘Ra’?]

    [Pffft! Hahaha!]

Even the angry fans who had been complaining earlier couldn’t help but laugh.

    [Hmm…]

[She’s cute, but the vibe is all wrong.]

[This game never really suited women in the first place.]

[I’m already feeling uneasy about this playthrough.]

The Untouchable fans who had joined the stream were starting to feel concerned.

    ‘But I kinda like it.’

    Seyul, however, was perfectly content.

Originally, she had started gaming out of nostalgia for another world. But at some point, she had genuinely started enjoying it.

She had bought Untouchable on impulse, curious about other games, and at least for now, she was satisfied.

‘Now that I think about it, I used to play these kinds of games a lot.’

The reason she had chosen a military-style game like Untouchable was simple it was a genre she was familiar with.

Having bought it purely based on genre, she had no idea what was about to unfold. But she was excited.

    “Nice to meet you, Seyul.”

As she stepped forward from the helicopter, a voice welcomed her.

A man stood ahead of her, surrounded by about ten armed soldiers.

A Black military officer, around his forties, with a muscular build despite his age.

    [Oh, it’s Colonel Heat!]

    His name was Colonel Heat.

Of course, she had no intention of following their orders, but she was curious.

When she finally received an answer, it felt as if she had been hit on the back of the head with a soju bottle.

    “Terrorism.”

    “What?”

“We will commit acts of terrorism against the current international society.”

    A sudden declaration of terrorism!

As Seyul’s expression hardened, Colonel Heat continued explaining without a care.

“The private military company is just a facade. The true purpose of Untouchable is to bring retribution to this unjust world.”

    “And what exactly is unjust?”

“Are you really asking because you don’t know?”

Seyul, who was bewildered by his words, found herself at a loss, but Colonel Heat only grew more frustrated.

“Look at yourself! You devoted your life to your country, and they discarded you like trash! Do you think this only happened to you?”

” No! It has happened to every soldier here, and even now, it is happening to countless soldiers around the world!”

“The nation, the people, and even our families we stained our hands with blood for their sake.

But what did we get in return?

A country that treats its soldiers as disposable tools.

Citizens who despise and look down on those who fight for them.

Wives who welcome other men into their arms while their husbands are away at war.

There is not a single thing that is right in this world!”

    Colonel Heat spoke passionately.

    That’s right.

Unlike most factions that the protagonist typically belongs to, Untouchable was an entirely different kind of organization.

It was a group of soldiers abandoned by their nations, united by their desire to take revenge on modern society.

“The current system is broken. Through acts of terrorism, we will criticize and dismantle the international order. ”

“We will build a new world where those who fight and bleed are properly rewarded. ”

“Untouchable! We will become an existence that no one can lay a hand on!”

After finishing his explanation, Colonel Heat extended his hand toward Seyul.

“Normally, we wouldn’t reveal our true intentions this soon. ”

“But I respect you as a comrade, so I’m telling you everything.”

” What do you say? Join us and change this filthy world. Let’s take revenge on the nations that abandoned us!”

Colonel Heat’s proposal was polite, but the reality was different.

The soldiers surrounding him simultaneously loaded their guns.

An unspoken threat if she refused, she would die on the spot and the game would be over.

Thus, the only way to proceed was to accept the offer and join Untouchable, which was the intended storyline of the game.

[This is what makes this game so compelling.]

A fan of Untouchable commented in the chat, excited for the beginning of the game.

[For those who don’t know, let me explain.]

[A group of soldiers abandoned by their countries. ]

[A criminal organization made up of those soldiers. ]

[Acts of terrorism committed to create a world where soldiers are properly valued.]

[This is actually a huge cliché in this genre.]

    [Oh, really?]

[But this game throws a curveball.]

[Normally, the protagonist would be the one stopping such a group, but here, the protagonist joins them instead.]

Whether due to coercion or genuine belief in their ideology,

the player character ends up becoming part of Untouchable and carries out numerous terrorist operations under their orders.

The various tragedies and dark humor that unfold in the process.

The internal conflicts the player experiences.

These were the key elements that elevated the game to the level of a masterpiece.

[The story is so intense that it’s not really suited for streaming.]

[It’s been a long time since someone streamed this game.]

[I wonder if she can stick with it.]

[Even male streamers give up halfway, so how is a girl supposed to handle it?]

The fans of Untouchable were worried that Seyul would quit before finishing the game.

No one expected her to refuse here.

With over a dozen guns aimed at her, they assumed she would accept.

[The newcomers don’t know what kind of troublemaker she is.]

[I feel like I can already see what’s going to happen next.]

But those who had been watching her for a while thought differently.

    “No!”

And sure enough, things did not go as expected.

Seyul boldly rejected them despite having guns pointed at her.

Colonel Heat’s expression turned as cold as ice.

“Why? Are you not angry? Don’t you want rev—”

“Don’t get me wrong. I never said I wouldn’t take revenge.”

    “…What?”

“I just have no intention of joining forces with you to do it.”

    Seyul had a thought.

In the other world, the nation she was affiliated with had never betrayed her.

They had used her, but they never dared to turn against her outright.

But if that country had betrayed her?

With the mindset she developed as a divine warrior, she would have responded like this.

“If my country really abandoned me, I’d take my revenge on my own!”

She wouldn’t rely on anyone else.

If she were to walk her own path, then revenge, too, had to be carried out by her alone.

    Colonel Heat looked dumbfounded.

    “Alone? Against an entire nation?”

    “That’s right.”

A nation was just a concept.

In reality, she would be taking on the entire international community!

“Are you insane? A single person cannot fight against a nation.”

    “Of course, I can!”

She responded without the slightest hesitation.

“I won’t rely on anyone. If I choose my own path, then revenge must be mine alone. ”

“Even if the entire world stands as my enemy, it cannot be helped. I will fight them regardless.”

To be manipulated by someone else and yet claim to be following her own will?

If she needed someone else’s strength just because her enemy was too powerful, it would be nothing short of a joke.

Therefore, Seyul believed that revenge was something she had to carry out alone.

Besides, in the end, wasn’t all of this just terrorism?

They called it upholding their will, but all they were doing was killing innocent people.

Even if she had been forced to comply, she would have hated every moment of it,

and now that she knew their plans involved terrorism, there was only one thing to do.

“But for now, I’ll put my revenge against the international community on hold and take care of you lot first.”

Her icy gaze gleamed ominously as she made up her mind to tear apart yet another game’s storyline.
