Chapter 15
I Became a Prisoner Trainer in the Dungeon.
Episode 15: Testimony Of Your Faith (4).
-I need to report to the Vampire Princess.
The succubus secretary left in a hurry after saying that.
She left in such a panic that I couldn’t understand why she had to leave to report something.
My guess was.
‘Either one of two things.’
One.
That the corruption was successful.
But there was one problem.
‘Didn’t they know the ritual was being performed?’
Could it be they didn’t detect the ritual being performed at the altar or its success with magic?
Or was it content that had to be reported in person, not in real-time?
‘They’re either not interested in this, or they simply don’t care.’
Let it be as it may.
Or maybe the results wouldn’t come all at once.
Just like how new material research didn’t succeed overnight after funding and researchers were put in, this event might have just been shrugged off as ‘oh, the altar activated.’
‘This might be what really needs to be reported.’
Splash, splash.
Priestess Dalia swung her mace, entwined with red and white, wildly.
“Ugh, aaah!!”
A captive came in, shocked to see his dead comrade, but Dalia immediately chased him, grabbed him by the throat, and threw him into the execution chamber.
“Goddess! The hammer of judgment on the traitor-!”
Thud.
Another one, head smashed, died.
Despite being splattered with blood, Dalia swung her mace with joy.
The power in that mace…
Was it divine power?
I was not sure.
It seemed to exude some divine aura, but it was hard to judge recklessly.
‘There’s too little information known.’
All I knew was the miracle given to me and the clues obtained from this torture chamber.
‘Forget it. Just focus on surviving.’
I steeled myself.
If I hadn’t risked my life as a torturer, I would have been the one with my head smashed by that mace now.
“Huff, huff.”
Dalia steadied her breathing.
She killed all eight male captives – those who had gangraped her – with her mace until the very last one.
“Goddess…”
Dalia knelt and prayed with her hands clasped.
“Hey.”
I approached Dalia, but she quietly turned her eyes towards me.
“Can’t you see I’m praying?”
“No, I meant to say good work.”
“Ha. My hard work is appreciated by the Goddess. You’re just…ugh.”
Dalia frowned.
Though covered in blood, her red eyes seemed to grow even redder through the blood.
“……”
Dalia had turned into a vampire.
Could it be that she was experiencing a bloodlust?
If so, the only one she could feed on was-
“You.”
“Why?”
“What’s your name?”
Dalia slowly stood up.
“I should remember your name.”
“Name? Well.”
My previous life’s name was meaningless, and I didn’t particularly want to use my current name either.
“Andy, Jack, Malcolm, Jace. Which do you like?”
“What?”
“I’ve forgotten my real name. Or you could give me a new one.”
“……A divine revelation?”
Dalia looked at me with an unpleasant expression.
“The Goddess has granted you a new name.”
“Why make it so solemn?”
“Shut up. It’s really what the Goddess told me.”
“The Goddess?”
“Yeah. So, she’s watching over this place.”
Dalia smirked proudly.
“The Goddess is sending her divinity even into the heart of this demon lair, the dungeon.”
“……”
I wanted to say she believed that because she was severely shocked by the gang rape, but maybe I went too far?
No.
Did I do something worse?
Maybe her mind broke after enduring the men’s gang rape but then facing the disgrace of those corpses urinating on her priestess garb?
“Azaziel.”
“What?”
How could a human name be Azaziel.
“Are you mocking me?”
“…No. She said Azazel.”
“……?”
It’s shortened but not in a good way.
Not like Azazazazel.
“That’s absurd. Did the Goddess really say that?”
“The Goddess warns not to tempt me, for she watches over us.”
“That’s absurd.”
“……”
Dalia glared at me as if she could kill me, but even with the mace gripped tight, she didn’t swing it at me.
“What? Going to hit me?”
“……”
Despite glaring at me for a long while with the blood-stained mace dropped to the floor, Dalia doesn’t swing it, showing her displeasure.
“Anyway, what happened to the other women?”
“Other women?”
“Eris and-”
“Oh. Everyone but her here is dead.”
I mimicked slitting my throat.
“The female bandit was eaten by slimes, and the female warrior… was taken by orcs.”
“Cannibalism…”
“Our Master doesn’t order his subordinates to engage in cannibalism.”
The Vampire Princess killed humans but didn’t eat them.
“Unlike other dungeons.”
“……”
“But when they die, all their blood will be drained.”
“Is there a difference between having your blood sucked and being eaten?”
“At least, in feeling.”
Perhaps it was better to have your heart ripped out in one blow and your blood drained dead than to be dismembered alive and be a witness to a cannibalistic party.
“I see… So, Eris is still alive then?”
“Yeah.”
She was not just alive.
She served as my save point-
“I’ll help you.”
“……What?”
“I said, I’ll help you.”
Dalia licks her lips with a strange smile.
“I want to show you the joy of falling to a demon.”
“…You.”
Suddenly, a thought occurred to me.
“You’re not just trying to turn other girls into something like you, are you?”
“……”
Dalia just smiled without denying it.
Ah.
They said a woman’s enemy was another woman.
“Not a bad idea.”
An ancient castle shrouded in thick darkness.
In the central hall of the castle, painted entirely in black with red decorations, a woman sat on a throne.
White hair and red eyes.A woman with the typical characteristics of a vampire.
Yet, her hair, close to pure white, and simultaneously a vivid red like fresh blood, clearly showed how close she was to being a ‘true ancestor’.
Someone would say about this woman:
The first offspring of the Vampire King.
The First Princess of Vampires.
However, those in this place, the Vampire Princess’s castle, called her by another name.
“Master.”
The master of the dungeon.
“I have something to report urgently.”
“The meeting of the four high-ranking officers of the demon army is scheduled in 10 minutes.”
Or, one of the four high-ranking officers of the demon army.
Widely known by the alias, she was called the ‘Vampire Princess’.
“If it’s something that can be heard after the officer meeting…”
“It might… be more important.”
“……”
In the middle of the hall, kneeling on the red carpet, the succubus secretary’s report made the Vampire Princess pause her hand gesture.
“You are not one to lie. Report.”
“…Could you clear the room for this?”
“Insolent!!”
An old vampire who was assisting the Vampire Princess shouted.
“Daring to ask for a private audience with the Princess! You’re just a 7th-grade administrative officer!”
“Quiet.”
The Vampire Princess raised her hand to stop the old vampire.
“I’ll decide after hearing the details. If you waste my time, you can atone for it with your death.”
The Vampire Princess slowly stood up.
“No need for words. I will see it for myself.”
As the Vampire Princess rises from her throne and descends the steps, the succubus secretary quietly unfastened the top button of her shirt.
“Through the memories in your blood, I will verify what you have seen and heard.”
Crunch.
Very slowly, the Vampire Princess’s fangs sank into the succubus secretary’s neck.
“Ugh, ugh…!”
Blood rushed to the succubus secretary’s face in an instant.
The Vampire Princess, unconcerned by the succubus secretary’s reaction, closed her eyes while drinking blood from the neck where her fangs were embedded.
And then.
“……!!”
She opened her eyes wide in agitation.
As if she had seen something impossible.
As if something unexpected had come true.
“……”
And at the same time, as if something impossible had happened.
“……”
The Vampire Princess, seemingly shocked, stepped back, and the succubus secretary collapsed, her legs giving way.
“Hah, hah, hah.”
The succubus secretary, seemingly in ecstasy, covered her neck with her hand.
They said being bitten by a vampire close to a true ancestor brought an incomparable pleasure.
They said one would be steeped in such pleasure, unaware of their own death, and here she was, experiencing exactly that.
The fortunate thing was:
“You.”
After reading the succubus secretary’s memories through blood-drinking, the Vampire Princess stopped killing her.
“There was not a shred of falsehood in what you saw.”
“……Yes!”
The succubus secretary nodded vigorously.
“He-”
“Shh.”
As the succubus secretary tried to speak, the Vampire Princess placed her index finger on her lips.
“Quiet. Do not speak.”
“……!!”
“Akamondu.”
“Yes, Master.”
The old vampire, Akamondu, approached quietly.
“You go to the officer meeting in my stead.”
“Pardon, what?”
“It’s just a regular meeting. Nothing urgent, so there’s no problem sending a proxy.”
“But… without a proper reason, the other officers might suspect.”
Akamondu looked the Vampire Princess up and down, rolling his eyes.
“Even though I don’t know what it is, if it’s something the Princess wants to confirm personally, it must be a significant matter, so regarding my attendance as your proxy…”
“Tell them I’m on my period.”
“……”
Akamondu’s already pale face turned even paler at the Vampire Princess’s words, but she was already helping the succubus secretary to her feet.
“We’ll talk after you return from the officer meeting. Akamondu, make up some excuse.”
“I understand. To the officers, of course…”
“It’s confidential to the Demon King as well.”
Akamondu mimicked zipping his mouth shut and nodded vigorously.
“Good luck, Master.”
“Ah.”
After Akamondu disappeared somewhere with a stack of documents.
“Then… shall we go meet him?”
The Vampire Princess smiled slyly and reached towards one of the many mirrors hung on the hall’s wall.
“To awaken my wish, and the hope of our legion, which has awakened the ‘ancient power’.”
“Ancient… power.”
The succubus secretary swallowed hard, and the Vampire Princess reached into the mirror.
“If that power is a fragment of the ‘Chaos Demon God’ whose worship was forbidden with the ascension of the current Demon King. If, thanks to the successful corruption, part of that power has been re-manifested on this earth…”
Lick.
“Indeed, my thoughts were not wrong.”
The Vampire Princess placed a hand on her chest, wearing an ecstatic smile.
“That torturer, we must secure him in our legion by any means necessary.”
