Chapter 14: Because some bastard ruined my mood

Sieun’s rage was palpable, an oppressive force. The creepy man, seemingly oblivious, approached her.

“Who are you? Her guardian or something?”
Yes, so why don’t you let her go? She’s crying.

The man finally seemed to grasp the situation, his expression shifting uneasily as he looked back and forth between us.

This should work. I thought, putting on my best damsel-in-distress act. I was already crying, so it wasn’t difficult to appear pitiful.

Unni…! He tried to take me…!” I cried, clinging to Sieun.

We were in a crowded department store. As I clung to Sieun, sobbing, people started staring. The man, cursing under his breath, quickly retreated. It was almost comical. I wonder how he’d react if he knew I was actually a twenty-three-year-old man.

“Whew… That was close. Right, Sister?”
“Close?! You could have been kidnapped…!”

She checked me over from head to toe, making sure I was unharmed. I doubt he would have succeeded even if she hadn’t been there. She was more protective than I’d realized. Why didn’t she show this side of herself before?

“Yunha, let’s go home. We’ve got everything we need.”
    “Okay…”

“That son of a b*tch ruined my mood.”
    “It’s fine. Let’s just go.”

What was she about to do? Why is she so secretive with me? I followed her home, filled with suspicion.

    **

    Ugh…

As soon as we got back, she started nuzzling me again. She has a good memory for useless things.

“Sister, how long are you going to do this?”
“I don’t know. As long as I want?”

I glared at her. She was always so contrary. Yet… it didn’t feel entirely unpleasant. What’s wrong with me? Has she brainwashed me or something? My feelings towards her were becoming increasingly confusing.

“Yunha, why that face? Don’t you like it?”
“Huh? Oh, no… I was just thinking.”
    “It’s that bastard from earlier, isn’t it? I’ll just…”
“It’s not that, so don’t worry about it.”

I stopped her from reaching for her phone. I didn’t want to see any strange news reports on TV.

“So what were you thinking about, Yunha?”
    “It’s nothing. Just drop it.”
    “Fine…”

She pouted and went to the kitchen, presumably to make dinner. I wonder what she’ll make. Will it be good? Lost in thought, I drifted off to sleep.

    **

    “Yunha, wake up~ Dinner’s ready~”

I opened my eyes. My hair was a mess, so she gently combed it with her fingers.

    “Hmm… What’s for dinner…?”
“Kimchi fried rice. You didn’t eat it last time, so let’s have it now.”

I sat at the table and reached for my spoon. She took it from me. Oh, right.

    She’s going to feed me.

    Unni will feed you, Yunha.”

This time, I didn’t want to refuse.

    “Okay, feed me.”
