B Ending – Scarlett’s Idiot Route

    Chapter 127: B Ending – Scarlett’s Idiot Route

The girl had a blank expression.

    “Pant, pant…”

In front of her, a dog wagged its tail happily, looking at the girl.

It was very large and had golden fur.

“…Did you sleep well… no. Did you sleep well?”

Then a man sitting next to the girl asked gently.

    He was large.

His impression was a little rough, and a slightly grown beard was bristly.

The girl stared blankly at the man for a moment.

“Yes. Did Mister sleep well too?”

“I slept well. It’s time for breakfast, so come out when you wake up.”

“Okay. I’ll go out in a little while.”

As the girl nodded, the man stood up with a bitter smile.

Her long, flowing red hair below her delicate shoulders held a faint glow.

    “Yawn…”

The girl rubbed her slightly disheveled blue eyes and yawned softly.

Before getting up, she touched the area around her left ribs, which was slightly aching.

Still not enough, she completely pulled up her clothes, exposing her skin.

Smooth skin and a chest lacking volume.

And, a bandage wrapped tightly just below her chest caught the eye.

    “Ouch…”

    The girl frowned slightly.

Even after a long time, the wound had not fully healed yet.

    ‘Mister said it’s been 4 months…’

Actually, the girl didn’t know what ‘4 months’ meant.

Since she had opened her eyes, she remembered nothing at all.

Though she was learning to read little by little now,

her own name, words, nothing at all.

The girl’s mind was a blank slate.

    “Ugh…”

The wound had healed a lot compared to when she was first picked up by the man.

But for it to fully heal, it seemed she would have to wait ‘4 months’ more.

Now that she was a little more awake, she should go eat.

She carefully moved her feet off the bed.

She felt the wound ache a little with each step, but it was bearable.

“Oh, you’re awake? Lucas, Noah. Your older sister is awake. Please help with breakfast preparations.”

    “Yes!”

    “Yes!!”

The girl was greeted by a woman with a very bright smile.

She was busily making something in the kitchen and asked two identical children to help prepare the meal.

    “Sister! Did you sleep well?”

“Sister! Sister! I had a dream! I ate dessert with you!!”

“You rascals, if you keep clinging, Violet will have a hard time. Let’s keep a little distance…”

As the girl smiled at the two children who were bouncing around very energetically,

the man watching from the side scolded the overly energetic twins.

They seemed unable to suppress their vitality, with their blonde hair fluttering, but

surprisingly, they answered ‘Yes!!’ to the man’s words and began preparing the meal.

Of course, even that meal preparation was more powerful than necessary.

“Sit here. How’s your wound? Is it better?”

“I think it’s okay. It hurts less than before.”

“Really? Then that’s a relief. Come on… let’s wait a little. Today, for once, it’s my wife’s special steak.”

The girl, called Violet, smiled gently and nodded.

The man stared blankly at her.

The woman preparing the meal chuckled, looking at him.

“Euston, dear. You’re going to bore a hole in Violet’s forehead.”

    “…Sorry. I did it unconsciously.”

    “Hehe… it’s okay.”

Violet shook her head as if it was fine.

The twins busily carried cutlery, chattering things like, ‘It’s okay! Sister is pretty!!’

After Euston moved the heavy stew pot,

    the meal began harmoniously.

“Eat this too. This too, and that, and this…”

    “Sara… you’ll burst her belly.”

“What does it matter? Look at her arm… it’s like a twig. What if it breaks?”

    “Hmm… she’s not that weak, though…”

    As Sara massaged Violet’s arm,

Violet, slightly flustered, gave a wry smile.

She slowly filled her stomach, enduring Sara’s ‘food bombardment.’

Then, when her stomach was so full she could barely breathe,

Violet was able to escape the gluttony hell with Euston’s help.

She tried to clear the eaten dishes, but Sara’s dissuasion forced her into a mandatory rest.

Then, after the meal and cleanup were all done,

“Daddy! Daddy! Play with me! Give me an airplane ride!”

“Let’s give Sister an airplane ride too! Whoosh-whoosh-whoosh!!”

“Now, just a moment, my princesses… can’t Daddy go out and get some fresh air for a bit…?”

    “No!!”

    “Nooo!!”

Euston was, as always, under concentrated attack from the twins.

The morning in the moderately large house with three rooms was peaceful.

Violet watched the boisterous scene for a moment.

“Kids. Mister seems tired, so how about you let him go for a bit?”

    “Hmm… okay!”

The children, who ignored Euston’s pained voice, listened to Violet’s words obediently.

Euston made a slightly wronged expression at this, but

then, with his newfound freedom, he dashed out of the house.

Violet also leisurely left the house, following Euston.

“Phew… being tormented every morning is killing me. Thank you, Violet.”

“You’re welcome. We all help each other out, don’t we?”

    Violet chuckled and nodded.

The two stood tall in front of the house, leisurely enjoying the breeze.

Then Violet mumbled for a moment.

As if she had something to say, she looked up at Euston.

    “…Mister.”

    “Hmm? What’s wrong?”

    “I had another dream today.”

The beginning was a dream story without a subject.

    However, Euston’s expression changed slightly.

He had a somewhat hesitant expression.

He seemed to want to hide something, and

Violet thought she at least knew that he didn’t like this topic.

    “What… dream?”

“A dream where the mansion collapsed.”

“Ah. You mean that dream you had before.”

Euston nodded and unconsciously put his hand in his pocket.

He fumbled inside, then realized there were no cigarettes.

He had quit smoking a long time ago. If Sara found out he was smoking again, he’d be in big trouble.

“Yes. I tried to kill someone… and a brown-haired woman stabbed a knife into my body.”

Violet’s hand pointed to her wounded chest.

This wasn’t the first time she had this dream.

    At that time,

when she completely lost her memory and woke up in Euston’s house,

it was a dream she had almost every day.

“…I see. Is the rest the same as what you said before?”

“Yes. I killed some monster… and lost consciousness.”

    Nod. Euston nodded.

He didn’t particularly want to talk about this topic.

Especially when she ruffled that red hair and played with the twins.

Violet’s brightly smiling expression was what Euston had always wished for.

Euston mumbled for a moment, then

continued speaking in a slightly low voice.

“Nothing else… you don’t particularly remember?”

“No. Even if I try to remember, my head hurts too much. Is it related to the situation before I lost my memory?”

“I don’t know. To begin with, I found you deep in the forest. You were covered in dirt then.”

“Is that so. Somehow… my heart pounds when I think of that dream.”

Violet gently placed her hand on her solar plexus.

And then, as if reminiscing, she looked up at the sky slightly, but

    nothing particularly came to mind.

“Perhaps it’s because you were scared. You said it was a dream where you were stabbed with a knife and monsters appeared.”

“It’s not just that. It’s just, what should I say… the woman in the dream was so beautiful. Enough to make my heart flutter.”

Her expression was tinged with quite complex emotions.

    Euston shrugged for a moment.

    He briefly recalled that time.

When the mansion was collapsing, and Carlson was torn to shreds and turned into a handful of ash,

despite his subordinates’ dissuasion, Euston rushed into the debris.

After that, he brought out Scarlett, who was barely clinging to life.

Miraculously, Scarlett was able to survive, but

for some reason, she woke up from her coma with all her memories lost.

No matter how much he asked, she couldn’t remember her own name.

Not words, not anything about herself.

For a moment, he felt like he would burst into tears, but Euston held it in.

    No.

He even thought it was better this way.

This was punishment from God for her.

Having lost everything, and miraculously woken up.

Euston wanted to give Scarlett a second life.

    “…Mister? Mister!”

    “Huh? Oh… yeah. What’s wrong?”

At the voice repeatedly calling him, Euston emerged from his thoughts.

“You weren’t answering no matter how much I called. Today, Aunt Sara asked if we should all go out together.”

“Go out? When did she ask that?”

    Euston briefly recalled Sara’s face.

Come to think of it, there had been a lot of talk about going on an outing before.

    “Yesterday.”

“So that’s why the girls were so excited today… alright. Shall we go inside now?”

    “Okay.”

Scarlett, who readily nodded, opened the door and went inside.

At the same time, two completely excited twins rushed at them.

They giggled and smiled brightly, their voices like rolling jade beads.

Euston lifted them both up, then

began a vigorous game with the lovely twins so that Sara could prepare the picnic lunch smoothly.

    ‘This isn’t so bad either.’

Euston thought, looking at Violet, who was smiling brightly and joining the game.

Ultimately, she had committed an unforgivable sin, but she had lost everything.

While Scarlett’s past sins could not be forgiven,

perhaps he could help her become a clean and upright person enough to cover those sins in the future.

That was Euston’s small wish, and

the greatest gift he could give her.
