Chapter 126: I like Sua too

    Sua focused!

    Let’s accept it.

    Sua’s turn had finally come.

“Appearing like a meteor to win the grand prize at the short film festival! She’s the rookie everyone’s been curious about since then. Sua-ssi! Please introduce yourself!”

In that brief moment, Sua repeated short phrases to herself countless times.

    ‘Don’t act up.’

    ‘Don’t be greedy for anything.’

    ‘Just stick to the introduction.’

    ‘Emphasize Sumi.’

Sua fiddled with Sumi, who lay like a blanket on her lap.

“This is an Arctic fox, and her name is Sumi.”

“As you can see, she’s very cute.”

“And her determination for today is…”

Sua slipped her hands under Sumi’s armpits, lifted her up, and started a conversation while meeting her eyes.

    “Aul aul.”
(Sumi, how are you feeling today?)

    “Awoo awoo woo.”
(I am happy to be spending time with Mother. The place I usually stay was boring. The weather is nice too.)

Sua then nodded towards the PD.

    “She says she feels good.”

“The weather is warm today too.”

Silence followed for a while after that.

    “…”

There was no reaction, and the silence stretched on for quite some time.

Sua couldn’t help but backtrack unknowingly.

‘Did I make a huge mistake?’

    However.

    “Hahahahahaha—!”

PD Kang Hyun-sung’s laughter was the start, and soon everyone burst into laughter.

    Only Sua was flustered.

    ‘Why are they suddenly laughing?’

Sua checked her chest area out of anxiety, just in case.

    There was no problem.

It wasn’t like she’d forgotten her underwear like before.

    She soon heard the reason.

“Sua-ssi, are you perhaps conversing with the Arctic fox?”

    “Excuse me? Yes.”

    “What did you say?”

Everyone burst into laughter at Sua’s serious reply.

Kim Dae-ho, hugging his raccoon, spoke up.

“Sua-ssi, you prepared this kind of secret weapon? Let me do my introduction again! You made me look plain because of you.”

“I know, right? I can hear our screen time getting eaten up.”

Everyone added a word with faces full of laughter, but Sua merely blushed slightly.

    ‘Is this really that funny?’

    “I’m deeply close with Sumi.”

    “We talk often too.”

    The reaction was explosive.

    In the direction of disbelief.

“Ayy, the agency must have set up this character for you!”

“Seo Yeon-ju-ssi told you to do that, right?”

“Ah, even knowing it’s a concept, it’s hilarious. With that face, you talk to pets? My stomach hurts. I might burst from laughing!”

    Sua explained sincerely.

    “I just asked her lightly.”

    “About how she was feeling.”

    “Aul aul! Like this?”

    “…That’s wrong.”

    “That means seaweed soup.”

“Hahaha! Seaweed soup! She said seaweed soup!”

PD Kang Hyun-sung, watching the whole situation, stroked his chin.

‘What is this? She’s actually quite good at variety shows too?’

His brain quickly came up with a plausible inference.

‘Well, Sua-ssi is an exceptional actress. Handling a variety show concept shouldn’t be difficult for her. Did she come up with the concept herself? Or the agency? Either way, it’s impressive.’

Around this time, PD Kang Hyun-sung’s intuition kicked in.

It was a variety-related intuition honed over decades of rolling in the industry.

The gut feeling that sticking close to Sua right now would make the view counts explode.

PD Kang Hyun-sung quickly stepped forward.

    “Sua-ssi, Sua-ssi!”

Thanks to him, the atmosphere of laughing at Sua subsided.

However, everyone seemed to be anticipating the next question.

    “Sua-ssi, I’ll believe your words.”

“That’s an enviable ability! But you’ve only introduced Sumi so far.”

“Now, please tell us about yourself, Sua-ssi!”

    “I am…”

Sua chose her words even more carefully than before.

“The actress who debuted with the short film ‘Sword,’ Sua.”

“And currently, the Special Task Force 808…”

    • [Hey, hey, hey! You brat! You can’t say that!]
    • [Sua sunbae, you mustn’t get confused….]

The Suah Association was in an uproar.

Only then did Sua realize her mistake.

    She quickly changed her words.

    “…a fan of Lee Sua-ssi.”

At that, sparks flew in PD Kang Hyun-sung’s eyes.

    ‘Sua-ssi mentioned Lee Sua first!’

A question related to Lee Sua.

It was a guaranteed check for pulling in insane view counts, but asking was not easy.

Sua was inherently cold, and Seo Yeon-ju was also beside her.

But Sua had brought up Lee Sua first.

    A once-in-a-lifetime opportunity.

The PD and the production team simultaneously had the same thought.

This might be the only chance to ask about the dating rumors.

“Sua-ssi, speaking of which, there have been various stories circulating about you and Sua-ssi lately. Could you perhaps give us just a little hint?”

    Sua was troubled.

    ‘How should I answer this?’

There had been advice from Kim Yi-seo, but it was all along the lines of brushing it off lightly.

Kim Yi-seo must have advised abstractly, believing Sua would handle it well on her own.

    The reality was completely different.

    It was then.

    “Lee Sua!”

    Suddenly, Yang Ha-rin’s parrot shouted.

    “Lee Sua! Marry me!”

At the unexpected cry, everyone’s gaze turned to the parrot.

Yang Ha-rin’s face was already rapidly flushing.

“Lee Sua! Marry me! Lee Sua! Marry me!”

Yang Ha-rin urgently tried to calm the parrot, but it wasn’t easy.

Parrots are very stubborn. Especially large ones.

Meanwhile, the PD’s smile was stretching beyond his ears, reaching the top of his head.

“What is this situation? Have two people already taken a liking to Sua-ssi? Is this going to become a Sua-ssi special?”

    Right at that moment.

Seo Yeon-ju raised her hand high.

    “What a coincidence?”

    “I like Sua-ssi too.”

    A meaningful smile.

The set began to heat up like crazy.

    Meanwhile, inside the van.

    Vrooom—!

As the vehicle sped down the highway, the woman leaning back in her seat with her legs comfortably extended had a rather provocative appearance.

Even without doing anything particular, her inherent human aura was like that.

The ends of her well-trimmed bobbed hair curled towards her neck, while indifferent eyes scanned her phone.

[ Seo Yeon-ju—Lee Seo-jung Rivalry Long Collapsed? As Seo Yeon-ju Soars with ‘Special Task Force 808’, What About Lee Seo-jung? ]

“Haaam, why do they keep pairing me with someone so uninteresting?”

    Lee Seo-jung.

The woman publicly known as Seo Yeon-ju’s rival.

    Their images were polar opposites.

Seo Yeon-ju was innocent, Lee Seo-jung was provocative.

Lee Seo-jung continued scanning the articles.

And occasionally, her finger would pause.

[ Lee Sua, ‘Wi Ji-hye’s protégé’ unseen since Grand Prize, appears on MyuTube variety show with unimaginable pet. Is it an Arctic fox? ]

It happened when she found articles related to Sua.

    Lee Sua.

Lee Seo-jung had recently taken a great interest in Sua.

To the point where her phone wallpaper was also Sua.

    The reason was nothing special.

    She found her stimulating.

    It excited Lee Seo-jung’s instincts.

    ‘It gets me excited, maybe?’

“Should I have raised a peculiar pet too? No, how about you become my pet? The reverse is fine too. Me becoming your pet. Either way…”

Lee Seo-jung’s muttering was cut short.

    “Seo-jung!”

The manager driving called out to Lee Seo-jung.

Their eyes met through the rearview mirror, filled with irritation and anxiety.

“You’re looking at weird stuff again to satisfy your urges, aren’t you? I won’t interfere with your private life, but can you please look at the script first? You’re busy today. Once we arrive at the studio, you won’t have time to look at the script!”

“Alright. Why are you getting angry?”

“You won’t look if I don’t get angry!”

“Correct answer. Since you got angry, shall I take a look now?”

Lee Seo-jung annoyingly stuck out the tip of her tongue slightly, then picked up the scripts piled on the adjacent seat.

    Her eyes were half-closed.

“What’s this, a historical drama script.”

“They say it’s a movie about King Yeonsan. The role is a royal concubine. It should be incredibly easy for you to act, right? You’re good at provocative roles.”

“I’m bored of it. Not doing it.”

    “What did you say?”

“My allure isn’t acting in the first place. It’s something I was born with. Well, even aside from that, the script is cliché.”

The manager just let out a deep sigh.

Once Lee Seo-jung said she wouldn’t do it, that was the end.

He knew well that trying to persuade her further was pointless.

Lee Seo-jung picked up the next script.

    “Netflix? What’s this.”

“It’s an overseas OTT platform, launching in Korea soon. Looks like they plan to produce a show that’ll blow up right at the start of service. I heard it was even written by writer Lee Geum-sook’s team? Lee Geum-sook is someone you can trust.”

“If it’s her team, Writer Lee probably didn’t write it herself. Look here, someone named Hong Ye-ji wrote it. Must be one of the assistant writers.”

“Still, read it. From what I’ve heard briefly, this OTT thing is quite amazing. Even overseas viewers watch it.”

    The manager added another comment.

“And the writer supposedly said something peculiar.”

    “What kind of words.”

“She said if you don’t participate, they’ll scrap the entire project. That’s how much they want you, or something. Is it a suicide threat or what?”

    Lee Seo-jung smirked.

    She quite liked those words.

“She has wit. Shall I take a look?”

    Lee Seo-jung opened the script.

Perhaps 10 seconds passed after that.

    She closed it again.

    “Regrettable.”

“Looks like they’ll have to scrap the project.”

She didn’t feel the slightest inclination to do it.
