    Fan Signing Event

    Fan Signing Event

    Fan Signing Event

I tried to refute Chae-a’s shocking statement that ‘the signature looks like a worm’ by explaining why it doesn’t resemble a worm.

But honestly, even I could see it looked a bit like a worm, so I had to keep my mouth shut.

Still, I couldn’t help feeling wronged, so I tried to protest meekly in a crawling voice, but.

    “This is my signature… Not a worm…”

Chae-a tilted her head, not understanding at all, but then answered with a bright smile.

    “…? Oh! Right!”

    “……”

I was crumpling up like a deflated balloon.

Yuna, who was next to me, patted my head and praised my signature.

“It doesn’t look like a worm. It looks like a signature.”

Those words gave me a little encouragement, but.

I soon realized that Yuna didn’t know exactly what a signature was either, and I curled up whimpering.

I felt great sorrow as I felt my tail patting my head, but then I shook my head and gathered my thoughts.

Just as I was pulling myself together, Seo-a, who was next to me, tilted her head and went ‘Bbyaa?’

Then, staring intently at my phone like I had when signing, Seo-a also started to wiggle her fingers and sign.

    Tap tap.

In fact, it was closer to slapping the phone with her palm than signing.

But since Seo-a seemed very satisfied, I decided to just leave her be.

I was giggling at how cute Seo-a looked while concentrating when Han A-rin turned around and said.

“Ha-eun, how is it? Do you think you can sign for the fans who come to the fan signing event?”

At that question, I blinked and thought for a moment, then honestly explained the current problem.

“Chae-a said it looks like a worm. So I think they won’t be able to recognize the signature.”

“Huh? Ah… That’s okay. The signature isn’t the important part anyway.”

With Han A-rin’s words that signatures weren’t important even at a fan signing event, we were able to arrive at the association.

    * * *

Even though we decided to have a fan signing event, it seems some signature practice is necessary.

I seriously spoke to the little ones who were calling three bears in front of me.

“Hey, shall we practice our signatures?!”

The first to react to my words was Yuna.

Yuna seemed to just enjoy doing something together with me, regardless of whether it was signatures or not, as she immediately ran over to me and said.

    “I like it.”

The next to react was Chae-a.

As soon as Chae-a finished singing, she pretended to wipe her forehead with a ‘phew’ sound.

Then she smiled brightly and said she liked it.

“Ha-eun is too young to understand. But this is how we have to work hard…!”

What’s the connection between singing and working hard?

While I wasn’t sure but thought Chae-a must have her own reasoning, so I was nodding.

Seo-a next to me hugged me tightly and giggled, saying ‘Bya?’

I patted Seo-a’s head and decided we would all practice signatures together.

“Then how do we do the signatures?”

As soon as I declared we would practice signatures, Yuna’s question came.

I looked at Yuna, giggled, and then drew the signature I had tried in the car again while explaining.

“Yes. You write your name, but…! Instead of writing it straight, you write it all squiggly like this.”

As I was saying this, I realized – why did signatures come to be written in such a squiggly way?

If I had to guess, I thought perhaps it became squiggly from trying to sign quickly and lightly, but.

This was just speculation, so I simply shrugged my shoulders and quickly moved on with my thoughts.

“So you write it like this!”

I figured Chae-a, Yuna, and Seo-a probably couldn’t write their names in letters.

So I deliberately wrote out each of their names for them to copy, then let them write however they wanted.

I thought it would be better to let them figure it out on their own rather than interfering too much and dampening their interest, so I didn’t say anything. Around that time.

Chae-a must have already finished her signature, as she showed it to me with a giggle.

    “Ta-da…!”

Curious about how she had signed, I looked at it.

I saw a drawing of three wriggling worms.

‘I guess because of my signature she saw in the car, the image of a signature has completely stuck in her mind as worms.’

I briefly considered telling her this wasn’t a signature.

But thinking about it, some people do draw pictures as signatures, and I didn’t want to stifle Chae-a’s creativity, so I praised her for doing a good job.

    “Mm…!”

Chae-a seemed happy to be praised by me and grinned as she drew more worms.

I blinked at the growing pile of worms, then awkwardly smiled and looked away.

‘By the way, Yuna writes extremely well.’

I was impressed by how neatly she wrote, almost to the point where you could believe an adult had written it if you exaggerated a bit.

As I realized that Yuna had excellent hand skills and was watching this, Seo-a next to me tugged at my clothes.

    “Hm?”

Wondering what was wrong, I looked at Seo-a.

Ha-eun proudly showed off the indistinguishable lines she had drawn, her eyes shining brightly.

It seemed that Ha-eun also wanted to be praised for this, so I patted her head and said,

    “Ha-eun, you did a great job too…!”

    “Myam!”

Ha-eun nodded with a broad smile and continued to create new unidentifiable lines.

I looked at the children once more, then decided to practice hard myself.

    * * *

After scribbling signatures for about an hour, Han A-rin, who was watching me, provided information about the signing event.

“Is it okay if we hold it tomorrow at lunchtime in your lair?”

    Tomorrow at lunch?

As I was taken aback by the unexpectedly quick schedule, Seo-rin, who was next to me, laughed awkwardly and asked Han A-rin,

“Doesn’t it seem like it’s been set too hastily…?”

I’m not sure if it’s right to express it as fortunate.

Seo-rin had accurately voiced my thoughts, so I hugged my tail and nodded vigorously.

No matter how I thought about it, having it right away tomorrow at lunch seemed too sudden.

So, I was trying to hint at giving it more time.

Han A-rin, seeing us like this, explained the reason for the rushed schedule.

“If we set a longer timeframe… there could be security issues. So I thought it would be better to hold it without much notice if possible.”

    “Ah.”

After hearing Han A-rin’s explanation, Seo-rin seemed to realize something and nodded in agreement without saying much.

    “That certainly makes sense.”

“Yeah. And if we’re short on people, we can always ask Perseus for help. I think it’s better to proceed as planned.”

To be honest, based on what I’ve heard, the only thing I could judge was that holding a fan signing event with more time might cause problems.

I stared blankly at this for a while, then shook my head and hugged my tail.

‘I’m not sure, but it’s probably related to terrorism.’

Judging from the way they’re beating around the bush, the use of the word ‘security’, and lastly, the fact that they’re watching my reaction.

It seemed highly likely that they were hastily organizing the signing event to prevent terrorism.

‘They don’t have to hold it, though.’

Since fan signings can be held anytime, and above all, it’s not absolutely necessary, I thought it would be better to avoid it if the circumstances weren’t favorable.

I carefully brought up to Han A-rin and Seo-rin that they didn’t have to do it.

“If there’s a problem, we don’t have to do it…!”

At those words, Han A-rin and Seo-rin turned their heads simultaneously.

    They spoke firmly.

    “No.”

“We must do it no matter what.”

What could have made those two like this…?

I couldn’t understand it at all.

For a long time, I just wagged my tail and watched their reactions carefully.

    * * *

Although the fan signing event was to be held at lunchtime.

Since there was a lot to prepare, we had been busy doing various things since morning.

As I absentmindedly watched the swaying ponytail beside me, just when I thought I had completely gotten used to it by now.

Suddenly, Seo-rin approached and told me one shocking fact.

“I saw earlier that a lot of hunters had gathered at the lair.”

    “…?”

Hearing those words, I blinked blankly, unable to comprehend.

Well, I’m not an idol or a celebrity, just an ordinary person… no, just a half-dragon, so I couldn’t believe that many hunters had gathered to get my autograph.

    ‘Why…’

While I was restless, not really understanding,

Seo-rin looked at me and giggled, then continued speaking.

“Don’t feel too burdened. You’re a hunter too, right? From a hunter’s perspective, it’s like a super fun event that you’d never experience normally, so they’re probably just excited about it.”

    I still don’t get it.

As I tilted my head in confusion, Seo-rin picked me up and said,

“Anyway, you just need to go and have fun, so there’s no need to worry too much.”

    “Alright.”

    “Okay, shall we go then?”

I nodded in agreement, and Seo-rin carried me towards my lair.

‘… To be honest, I don’t think many will come.’

I know there are many hunters who adore me.

But I thought that even so, they wouldn’t adore me enough to participate in a suddenly organized fan signing event.

After all, I was still an outsider, just an anomaly within the association.

‘So even if there aren’t many.’

Thinking that I shouldn’t worry too much, I looked ahead.

An unimaginably large number of people were seen standing in line.
