Chapter 122.1
by AfuhfuihgsChapter 122 – Rule 31. The Leader Restores Order in Academy City (24)
As the Martial Law Guards, Disciplinary Committee Alliance, and Goblin Army all faced the same direction, Spartoi alone couldn’t turn their back.
They only glared at the Student Council President with hostility.
“Student Council President. Are you really going to betray the Head Principal?”
Spartoi asked, to which the President responded with a cold expression.
“Why should I follow someone who’s been hiding such power?”
“If that’s what you mean, then I understand…”
*Crackle!*
*Srrng!*
“……!”
A beautiful blend of blue and pink light flashed past Spartoi in an instant.
By then, Spartoi’s body was already marked with a deep wound.
*Splat!*
“Guh!”
Blood spurted out, and Spartoi clutched their abdomen, dropping to their knees.
‘I couldn’t keep up with it…! This is…’
Spartoi turned their head back in shock.
A girl with fluttering short hair and a skirt stood with her back to him, holding a black sword in one hand.
It was Oh Baek-seo.
She turned her head to meet Spartoi’s gaze.
Her deep, dark eyes captured Spartoi as if they were looking into an abyss.
“Oh Baek-seo…!”
Spartoi shouted in fury.
“You’re at a disadvantage if you go against us here. Do you think your small group can handle the combined power of every academy in Neo Seoul?”
Spartoi’s strongest members, including Seo Gang-jin, had been defeated while stationed at Central Tower.
There was no chance left for the remaining Spartoi to take on all the academies that had protected Neo Seoul.
“Grr…”
Spartoi lowered their head.
Baek-seo swung her Hyunwoondo Sword to flick off Spartoi’s blood.
“Don’t interfere. Next time, it’ll be your head.”
With that warning.
*Crackle!*
Baek-seo kicked off the ground, and blue electricity spread out as she vanished in an instant.
“B-Baek-seo!?”
Yesong shouted in surprise. No matter how strong Baek-seo was, there was no way she could endure the battlefield of those monsters.
However, Baek-seo couldn’t just stand by when she felt she had to help Woo-jin.
It wasn’t a reckless charge. There had to be a reason why even Woo-jin and Goliath were struggling against Se-Ah, despite their combined efforts.
Considering the battle’s dynamics from afar, Woo-jin often clashed with Se-Ah but soon moved by using cracks to shift his position. Goliath did the same.
The fact that even warriors above Tier 7 fought so cautiously meant one thing:
They couldn’t stay close to Se-Ah, or there was something specific about her that they had to be careful of.
In other words, Baek-seo concluded that Se-Ah could wield powers beyond her control.
*Crackle!*
As Baek-seo’s feet touched the ground near the battlefield of the strongest fighters, blue currents surged. The waves of intense magic blew like a storm, whipping her hair and clothes violently.
Baek-seo fixed her stance, staring at Se-Ah.
She closed her eyes for a moment.
In the darkness, she saw the ordinary days spent in the Disciplinary Committee.
The sun’s rays streamed into the committee office.
Woo-jin, pretending to be cold but always showing a clumsy side that made Baek-seo smile.
Yesong chattering about trivial things.
Minhyuk screaming after falling victim to Yesong’s pranks.
Doha, lying on the couch with a book over her face, sound asleep.
Such… ordinary days.
Baek-seo wanted to reclaim them.
*Whoosh!*
She let her internal magic flow at maximum, but softly.
The gently circulating magic burst upwards like fireworks, gathering in the sky and forming into a thundercloud.
*Rumble…!*
With each repetition, the thundercloud spun like a vortex, summoning a thunderstorm.
Woo-jin, Goliath, and Se-Ah momentarily glanced up at the dark thundercloud.
Goliath ignored it. The magic was powerful but weaker than his own, Se-Ah’s, or Woo-jin’s. He simply rejoiced as he punched the last remaining Do-hwa Group member away.
Se-Ah, sensitive to any variable, tried to stay wary of Baek-seo, but Woo-jin and Goliath’s relentless attacks left her no room to focus on Baek-seo.
And Woo-jin.
After glimpsing Baek-seo, he noticed the students watching the battle from a distance and quickly grasped their intentions.
It was then.
— Little boy, and muscle-head.
“Geumyang?”
A small crack formed near Woo-jin and Goliath’s ears, and Geum-yang’s voice echoed through.
— Go.
With that simple word, Woo-jin briefly hesitated before smirking.
Goliath, too, cracked a smile.
Somehow, the golden ram’s avatar had resolved the issues within the hidden world.
“Alright… Let’s do this.”
It seemed Se-Ah still hadn’t realized that something was wrong with the storage fueling her powers.
Probably because the power wasn’t truly hers.
*Ssshh.*
Having finally prepared herself, Baek-seo slowly opened her eyes. Her eyes, a stunning blend of blue and pink, were the very color of her magic.
A memory of her conversation with Woo-jin flashed through her mind.
— ‘Are you okay? Even if I’m with you…?’
— ‘There’s no need to ask if I’m okay. I just… need you.’
“I need you too.”
Baek-seo whispered softly, gazing at Woo-jin with a gentle smile.
“I really do like you, Woo-jin.”
*Rumble!!!*
A fierce storm of lightning and thunder poured down.
