Chapter 12 : Sister Rice Bowl (6)
by fnovelpia
Hayu suddenly tilted her head and collapsed.
Sensing something was wrong, I rushed forward.
I caught her just before she fell flat on her face.
(@3@)
Her eyes spun in circles as she passed out.
“Hayu unni… it’s because of me…”
Hami’s face turned completely pale.
Though usually laid-back and easygoing, she panicked the moment her sister collapsed.
“It’s not because of you. Don’t worry. Your sister will wake up.”
At this rate, Hami might faint too.
I reassured her with words and checked on Hayu in my arms.
‘This is bad. Acute hyperventilation?’
It was a classic case of hyperventilation.
I desperately sifted through my memories.
‘That’s it!’
A memory from my past life in the military came rushing back.
One of my fellow trainees had collapsed just like Hayu from hyperventilation.
We, all clueless newbies, flailed around in confusion.
Then, like a tiger, Sergeant Hwang—our senior—charged in,and to everyone’s shock, he locked lips with the fainted guy.
After the kiss, the guy’s breathing stabilized.
Then Sergeant Hwang shouted in his booming voice:
“Listen up! Hyperventilation happens when your body expels too much carbon dioxide.
You need to transfer CO₂ back into their body by sharing breaths mouth-to-mouth. Got it?”
What a comrade-loving soldier Sergeant Hwang was.
Never thought his medical tip would come in handy now.
Oh Hayu,You probably don’t want to inhale some old guy’s CO₂,but please understand.
I held my breath and leaned in close.
Just as our lips were about to touch— She opened her eyes.
She was still wheezing, but her breathing had slowed.
“Hayu, are you awake?”
I sighed in relief.
It would’ve been a disaster if a valuable client had died.
But the moment Hayu saw my face up close.
“⸻⸻⸻⸻~~~!!!”
Her condition got worse.
She flailed wildly.
Her face flushed like a furnace and she collapsed again.
It seemed the mouth-to-mouth method only made things worse, so I stopped.
“Whew— Her breathing is back to normal.”
Her younger twin, Hami, finally recovered from panic.
She placed her finger under her sister’s nose and spoke.
Fortunately, the hyperventilation had ended.
But even when I gently shook Hayu, she didn’t respond.
She just lay still, like Sleeping Beauty.
‘Should I take her to the hospital? Or call 119?’
“Guardian, what is your relationship to the patient?”
“I’m her father.”
“Oh, you’re her father.”
“Well… technically, I’m a rental dad.I get paid to act like her father.”
Yeah… that would be awkward.
But Hayu’s health comes first.
Suddenly, another nostalgic memory of Sergeant Hwang came to mind.
One day, while snacking on Matdongsan (a Korean snack),a soldier choked and collapsed.
Luckily, I performed the Heimlich maneuver in time, and he coughed it out.
However, she didn’t wake up.
That’s when it happened.
Sergeant Hwang came running in wearing only red underwear.
And then he suddenly performed a “kok-jap-ttaeng” on the soldier!
It was such an unreal sight, but the soldier snapped back to consciousness.
“Listen up, you punks. When someone faints and you need to wake them up fast, pinch here, where the nerves are most sensitive! Even the U.S. military uses this emergency technique.”
Of course—it was Sergeant Hwang, the pride of our unit.
There was no better moment than now to try that method.
In my previous life, this could’ve easily led to a sexual harassment lawsuit, but in this gender-reversed world, no worries at all.
‘Sorry in advance if it hurts.’
I apologized to Hayu in my heart.
If it hurts for a man, how much more would it hurt for a girl with more sensitive tissue?
Well, it’s meant to be painful—that’s why it works in emergencies.
With a beast’s determination (not that kind of “yasu” but the feral kind), I brought my index finger and thumb together.
And then.
Ttaeng.
***
Karaoke room floor, grimy with oil stains.
A bra lies on the ground.
Just another day in this world where women are less modest and the gender roles are flipped.
“Ow… it stings… ugh…”
🥺🥺🥺🥺🥺.
Hayu shed a tear, rubbing her chest under her clothes.
There was less than an hour left before the Papa-katsu session ended.
Using the secret technique passed down from Sergeant Hwang, I’d brought Hayu back to life.
But once she woke up, she freaked out so wildly that I broke a sweat trying to calm her down.
“The swelling will go down, Dad.”
“Thanks.”
Hami gently pressed a cold cola can from the karaoke fridge against the handprint on my cheek.
“Hayu unni, seriously… after all that help, you resort to violence?”
🥺🥺🥺🥺🥺.
Hami pouted.
“You wanna get your nipple pinched too? It still hurts. Look! It’s still standing!”
😠😠😠😠😠.
Hayu yelled with blazing eyes, yanking her shirt tightly against herself in frustration.
“And it’s your fault, Hami! Why’d you say that and make me hyperventilate?”
“Huh? I was trying to help. You’re the one who said you’re still a vir—”
“Oops. My hand slipped lol.”
Thump.
She bonked her little sister’s head, cap and all, with a light punch.
I wonder if she realized that Hami was also on the verge of hyperventilating when she collapsed.
Still, they’re clearly close sisters.
Relieved that the tension was over, I rested my chin on my clasped hands.
“I’m just glad Hayu’s okay. I really don’t want to lose someone right before my eyes again.”
The two girls looked awkward after hearing that.
Oops.
Maybe I said something too heavy.
They have nothing to do with that part of my past.
While I was regretting it, Hayu, who had been flailing just moments ago, offered an apology.
“Appappa… I’m sorry. I guess I danced too hard and passed out from being dizzy. Thanks.”
“…Maybe I was the lame one,” she muttered softly, bowing.
Though before she bowed, I wished she’d remembered that she had taken off her bra.
Sniff.
I turned my head, pretending to blow my nose.
“I’m just glad something I learned finally came in handy. Hayu, shall we continue then?”
“Huh? Continue what?”
Hayu blinked wide-eyed and asked.
“Yasu.”
I said it with a tone like why are you even asking something so obvious?
Hami, who had been the final “King” in the King Game, had ordered #1 and #2 to do yasu.
“No, I don’t want to.”
This time, her face turned pale as she frantically waved her hands.
Unbelievable.
She outright rejected yasu.
That’s not like a high school girl in her prime at all.
“Huh?”
“I’ve already reached my limit today. You took my first kiss and my first stumter. Isn’t that enough? Please, stop.”
First kiss and first stumter?
I don’t know what she’s talking about, but I let my disappointment show.
“I can’t believe it. I had everything ready.”
“You mean… ‘ready’ as in you’re already up? Because of me?”
Haye cautiously asked.
I glanced at the phone I had placed on my waistband.
“They should be here any minute now.”
On the other side of the room, Haye leaned in and whispered to her sister.
“Oh no, Hamimi. I think he got too excited by my seductive charm. He says he’s at his limit!”
“Good for you, unni. Looks like you’ll achieve your goal.”
Hamimi responded calmly while sipping her soda, using it to cool her cheek.
She waved her hand at me as if entrusting her sister to me.
“I’ll just watch, so go ahead and have fun with unni. If it’s Dad, it’s worth sharing.”
“Of course, Hami should have some too.”
“Huh? Me?”
She pointed at herself with a fingertip, as if wondering if I really meant her.
“You two are about to do yasu, but I can’t just leave you out.”
I shrugged as I spoke.
It didn’t feel right to make Hami wait alone while her sister and I had fun.
“N-no, I’m fine though?”
“Grrr. It’s unfair to chicken out at a time like this, you know?”
“Haye unni, stop it. Please.”
The sisters began bickering, getting tangled up with each other.
Soon, they were stacked like a tower, with Haye on top of Hami.
“Since we’re twins who are one, I guess it makes sense to go to the next stage together?”
“Fine, Haye unni. Father, we’ll leave it in your hands.”
Haye now looked smug, while Hami, though resigned, seemed a bit bashful.
Good.
Very good.
I smacked my lips and said,“Alright then. Let’s enjoy the different flavors—half and half.”
It was at that moment.
The karaoke room door opened and a woman wearing a helmet walked in.
She held two paper bags in her hands.
“Chicken delivery from Shidaek House. One fried, one with sauce. Please make the payment.”
“I’ll pay here. Please give me the receipt.”
🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰.
The twins looked stunned.
I smoothly laid out the chicken and smiled.
“I heard ‘doing yasu’ is slang among kids these days for eating chicken. Next time, be more clear, okay?”
At first, I was confused—but PapaBot, the AI assistant, helpfully explained it.
It even smartly placed the order on its own.
I still don’t get why ‘doing yasu’ means eating chicken, but…It fit the spirit of Papakatsu just fine.
After all, it’s about making money by eating meals with high school girls.
***
Joo Yeonho left right after the Papakatsu session ended.
Only the Hayu & Hami twin sisters remained in the karaoke room.
“Ugh, making me think the wrong thing and then pulling a prank? That’s just… gross~~!”
Hayu muttered while gnawing on a wing bone already stripped of meat.
“Hayu unni, are you going to give up now?”
“Just wait and see. If he’s going to take all of my firsts, then he’s going to take everything. I can’t get married now.”
Unni always has these pointless obsessions.
Once she decides on something, she has to follow through—even if she’s clueless.
Hamimi thought to herself, exasperated by Hayu’s clumsiness.
‘Well—I’m the same, I guess.’
Who’s going to lose their virginity first?
This is a competition.
And until this game ends.
They’ll keep borrowing Father.
