Chapter 12: Silver Dawn Knights (2)

    “Why am I here again?”

Lize casually ignored my question as she stepped inside, laying down on the bed as naturally as if it were her own. The level of ease she displayed could’ve convinced anyone this was her room.

Finding myself without options, I resignedly sat back down in the swivel chair. I didn’t have the confidence to share a bed with someone whose mere presence was as provocative as explicit content.

After rolling around on the bed for a while, Lize suddenly sat up.

“How do you feel about this new lodging?”

“Is that the first thing you say after barging in and commandeering someone else’s bed?”

“It’s a special service. This way, the bedding will have a woman’s scent. Isn’t that nice?”

“Why would that be a good thing?”

“Answer my question first. How does it feel?”

    “…Okay, it’s nice. Truly.”

    I genuinely meant that.

Rather than a hard wooden bed with a mediocre blanket and a musty stone wall, a soft mattress with modern wallpaper awaited me. How could I not appreciate that?

“Thought so,” Lize chuckled, stretching out. The movement further emphasized her already substantial bust, making it bounce slightly. Despite my best efforts, my eyes were unavoidably drawn to it.

Iris was by no means small-chested, but Lize’s was so prodigious that it could only be described as beyond large, almost rivaling or possibly surpassing the size of her head.

To make matters more challenging, the tank top she wore clung to her body, revealing both her abdomen and sides. Every slight movement, like the stretch she just made, threatened to reveal even more.

Moreover, whether it was my overactive imagination or not, Lize seemed to continually accentuate her physique.

Whether stretching to expose her underarms, emphasizing her chest by folding her arms underneath, crossing her legs to show how they pressed against each other, or adjusting the elastic of her shorts to reveal her hips.

    ‘Maybe I’m overthinking it.’

I shook my head, pushing aside distracting thoughts.

She was probably just trying to get comfortable and did these things subconsciously. The idea that she was attempting to seduce a man she’d met less than an hour ago was absurd.

    “So, what’s the secret?”

    “What secret?”

“The technique I used last time. How did you block it? Simply watching shouldn’t allow you to do that. And due to the frost and ice, you shouldn’t have been able to see it clearly. I might look calm, but I was genuinely taken aback.”

It’s not like I could respond with, ‘I’ve died hundreds of times, so I’ve memorized the rhythm.’ Instead, I responded with a sardonic smile that said, ‘I have my secrets.’

Perhaps Lize wasn’t expecting an answer to her question, for she continued speaking regardless.

“Even if we never met before, and you never saw that technique, it’s not something you can counter perfectly after seeing just once. Hmm, then what could it be? Oh, could it be we met in a past life? You did say you were cursed. With your memories fading so much, perhaps you’ve even forgotten about meeting me?”

“Talk sense. Even if I did lose my memories, if we had met before, you would remember, right? You haven’t lost your memories after all.”

“True. There’s no way I’d forget a man like you. But it still doesn’t make sense. How did you perfectly block my frost storm strike on our first encounter? It was one of my signature moves.”

“Signature move? I thought you were holding back.”

“If I thought you couldn’t handle it, I would have stopped it right in front of you. I’m skilled enough for that.”

Lize said with a playful wink.

After all, Iris managed to stop her dagger just before it landed, even when she suddenly intervened. So, stopping it right in front of me was also plausible.

    “And one more thing.”

    “Hm?”

“How did you know I was going for that last parry?”

The playfulness vanished from her face in an instant, replaced with pure seriousness. Her change in demeanor felt as if her earlier cheerful self was a mere illusion.

“Alright, let’s say you have amazing reflexes, sharp instincts, and perhaps your past self was an exceptional fighter, so your body remembers how to fend off even new attacks. Iris did prove that’s possible. But the way you predicted and countered my last move, that’s just impossible.”

I met her gaze, and the very moment our eyes locked, Lize sprung up.

She took a step closer to me.

    I flinched.

“Iris would’ve fallen for it if she didn’t have prior knowledge. But you? You saw through my counter parry and changed your attack trajectory in a split second.”

As she said this, Lize spread her legs apart and sat down on my lap. In a split second, we were facing each other, as if embracing.

All this time, I couldn’t make a single move.

    ‘…What is going on?’

My gaze was struggling to find a decent place to rest.

The fabric of her thin sleeveless top barely contained her ample chest, swaying right in front of my face. With just a slight shift in my gaze, her underarm was exposed. The deep hollow of her collarbone and the fragrance reminiscent of milk from her nape added to the tantalizing view.

I could feel Lize’s thighs pressed against mine. As she straddled, seated wide-legged across me, the intimate region between her legs seemed perilously close to mine.

“Answer me. How did you do it?”

    “…I don’t understand what you’re asking.”

Lize leaned in even closer, her blue eyes, blue hair, and pale skin completely filling my field of view. So close, in fact, that I could feel her breath on my lips.

“You’re pretending not to know, but I’m fully aware.”

The distance between our faces narrowed. I tried to pull away, but Lize had secured my head between her hands, which were gripping the backrest of the chair.

    I couldn’t break free.

It wasn’t that I didn’t try; I couldn’t overpower Lize. Moreover, with the pressure she was exerting on my thighs from her seat, even the slightest movement seemed impossible.

Trapped beneath Lize, I wondered how long the standoff lasted. Eventually, she pulled her face slightly back.

“Well, since you don’t seem keen on answering, I won’t press you.”

Before I could heave a sigh of relief, I felt her thighs pushing forward. Something soft brushed against me.

“By the way, don’t you have any questions for me? I’m willing to answer anything you’re curious about. Ask freely.”

Lize whispered seductively into my ear.

“Uh… I can’t think of anything right now. Could you please get off?”

    “You really have no questions?”

A mischievous smile appeared on her lips, the very same one she’d sported when I first met her, indicating she was up to some playful mischief. A sense of foreboding crossed my mind. What could she possibly have in mind with that expression in this situation?

“You can ask anything, really. Don’t think too hard. For instance, my exact bust size, or the most sensitive parts of my body. Anything at all.”

The already minimal space between our faces shrank even more, with our lips threatening to touch with the slightest movement.

‘Why is she acting this way?’

Considering her assertiveness, certain thoughts did come to mind, but confusion over why she was behaving this way was paramount.

I barely held onto my sanity, largely because such a scene was unprecedented in the game. Accepting her advances would lead the story into uncharted territories.

NPCs seducing players was something that was unheard of.

“Hey, Lize. First, let’s set this aside—”

    “Why should I?”

All I could now see were those pale peach-colored cheeks and those piercing blue eyes. The straps of her sleeveless dress slid off her shoulder without warning.

Lize was using all her strength, even from her thighs, to pin me to the chair. My head was trapped between her arms, and her thighs had immobilized me since the beginning.

A hint of her tongue peeked out between her crimson lips.

And now, it wasn’t just her breath that was close, but her lips as well.

    Knock, knock.

“Are you in there, newbie? I came to get you for dinner,” Erika’s voice echoed through the door.

At first, Lize tried to ignore the knocking, leaning in to press her lips to mine. But when the knocking persisted, she pulled away, her face contorting in annoyance.

She shouted at the door, “Hey! Have you no sense of timing? You just killed the mood!”

“Good timing…? Wait, why are you in the newbie’s room, sis?! What do you mean by ‘good timing’?”

“I just came to visit! Can’t you just let us be and come back in an hour?”

“What do you mean ‘come back in an hour’? Have you lost your mind, sis? Open this door right now!”

Outside, Erika banged on the door insistently.

Lize, who a moment ago had looked like she could devour me, now switched to a sulking face. She reluctantly got off me, adjusting the fallen strap on her shoulder and flopped onto the bed.

A muffled groan came from her face buried in the pillow, “Aren’t you going to open the door?”

    “…Me?”

“I’m your guest, right? The host should naturally open the door.”

Wasn’t she the one trying to overpower me just a moment ago?

Feeling a mix of relief and apprehension, I unlocked the door. Erika immediately pushed her way in, her actions and expression full of urgency.

Her usual courteous demeanor was gone. Without even greeting me, she made a beeline for her sister, who had thrown herself on the bed, clearly flustered.

    “Sis!”

Immediately, she began to scold Lize who just lazily pulled the blanket over herself in response. A commotion ensued between the two.

It seemed dinner was going to be delayed.
