Let’s go to bed

Chapter 12: Let’s go to bed

She must have escaped by now.

Scarlett thought. She was certain of it.

She comfortably sat in a plush armchair and wiggled her body.

A faint creaking sound echoed in the quiet room.

    Thump, thump.

    Her heartbeat gradually quickened.

She placed a hand on her chest and gently closed her eyes.

    ‘Outside! Finally, escape!’

    Simultaneously, cheers could be heard.

However, those cheers only echoed in her mind; they weren’t external sounds.

Scarlett’s mansion was quiet. There wasn’t even the usual sound of footsteps.

This was because it was her break time.

Disturbing her rest was extremely unpleasant.

Fortunately, the mansion’s servants knew how to maintain the silence.

    That fact satisfied Scarlett.

    “How cute..”

Soon, the sound of digging through dirt could be heard.

The excitement, the surging hope, everything was felt by Scarlett without exception.

After the final sound of collapsing dirt, all noise ceased.

As expected, the work was coming to an end.

Now, she only had to mold the completely blank slate as she pleased.

    “Phew..”

This was bad. Her hand unconsciously moved to her burning lower abdomen.

That despair-filled expression. The emotion felt when hope was shattered.

Thinking she could witness it firsthand, her heated body filled with lust.

Scarlett stood up. And left the room.

    Creak-

The familiar scenery of the mansion greeted her.

The grand hallway, the portraits of past family heads.

There was no particular emotion evoked.

It was even boring. Scarlett’s world was simply black and white.

    This wasn’t a figurative expression.

She truly couldn’t see any color.

Everywhere she looked was black and white.

In fact, whether it was ‘black’ or ‘white’, they were very objective descriptions for Scarlett.

However, she knew there was no vitality.

“Ah, Young Lady. Have you finished your rest?”

As she walked down the hallway, a passing servant quickly bowed his head.

He held tea and snacks in his hands.

She tilted her head and recalled the time.

    It wasn’t snack time.

    “Is it snack time now?”

    An innocent, pure question.

But at that single question, the servant’s face stiffened.

He swallowed dryly and continued speaking in a trembling voice.

“…No. The maids in the mansion said their blood sugar was low. I’m just on my way back from the kitchen.”

He was clearly trying not to show it, but his fear was evident.

    Scarlett calmly nodded.

Oh, I see. But why is that relevant?

She simply nodded and opened her mouth, Scarlett.

“Is that so? If you take too much, the chef will get angry, so take a reasonable amount.”

    “Yes. Thank… you.”

With that, the servant quickly left the hallway as if fleeing.

How foolish. To tremble so much before a mere little girl.

    ‘Boring.’

The same scenery, the same people, the same attitudes.

    It was terribly uninteresting.

She sighed and opened the door leading to the basement.

Everyone, everything, only evoked a terrible sense of ennui.

    Thud, thud.

However, as she went down, her heart pounded faster.

She was thinking of the cute puppy she had recently found.

What expression would the little girl be making now?

Would she despair? Or would she sit still like a puppet with its strings cut?

    Clank-

She opened the door to the underground prison and walked towards the cell she had prepared in advance.

    And there.

    “Hiee, hieek..”

The girl, painted in the only bright color, was huddled and breathing heavily.

    Seeing this, she smiled.

My color, the only life I can love.

    That was Scarlett’s everything.

    ****

    Why?

She checked it several times. In her disbelief, she even woke up from sleep.

There was definitely wind blowing through the escape hole.

She could see the scenery. The scent that brushed her nose was the smell of grass.

Clutching her trembling body, she examined the escape hole again.

    Whoosh-

    The wind was blowing.

It was the scenery she had always seen. The grass swayed, and the trees were lush.

And that sight made her unable to bear it any longer.

Also, she was stepping on the mint chocolate she had discarded earlier.

    “Aaaah..”

    Her heart pounded wildly.

Heat rushed to her head, heating everything up.

She felt a tingling sensation inside her tightly clenched fists.

Something flowed out, but she didn’t have the leisure to check.

    “Ugh, ughaaaaaa..”

Her voice involuntarily escaped her lips.

    “Ughaaaaaaaak!!”

And finally, the suppressed scream burst out, echoing through the underground prison.

    “Haa, haa..”

No. I must have seen it wrong.

    Yes. That’s impossible. Surely, I didn’t hallucinate?

This is definitely outside. If I can just get out there.

Continuing her meaningless rationalization, she trudged towards the iron bars.

    Clang.

She grabbed the iron bars and shook them slightly.

    They didn’t move.

She shook them again. Still, not even a tremor.

    Bang!

This time, she slammed her head against the iron bars.

    Bang, bang, KWAANG!

Even as the shock transmitted, a stinging pain erupted on her forehead, and something red and sticky flowed down her face.

    She couldn’t stop.

    “Heuk, heuk.. Kkueek..”

Finally, after her forehead was completely torn and bloody.

She gasped for breath and fell backward.

Her body trembled. Not from cold.

Her hands were drenched in sweat, yet they felt so cold.

The expression ‘drying up’ suddenly came to mind.

    “No… no… no…”

The words escaped her lips. She muttered frantically.

    Her mind had gone blank.

For a month. During that time, she had endured all sorts of humiliation and managed to hold on.

She thought she could finally escape.

Even while being used as bait. Even while having strange devices inserted into her body.

Even while feeling extreme fear from the Mimic’s arm.

She had clung to the hope of escape to keep her sanity.

But now, all of that had become a futile effort.

    “Ha… haha…”

    Drip, drip.

Laughter erupted. Her eyes reddened, and tears fell.

Blood and tears mixed, creating a murky color.

    It was all meaningless.

From the beginning, she had been played by Scarlett’s scheme.

    She didn’t know how, but.

She curled up and continued to laugh.

    “Ha… hahaha… Puhahahaha…”

The laughter didn’t stop. Nor did the tears, nor the sorrow welling up in her throat.

    “Hahaha… haha…”

    No thoughts came to mind.

Just emptiness. Goals, hope, all were merely delusions now.

    She could never escape.

    Clank-

Scarlett had been watching me the whole time.

    Tap, tap.

What was she thinking, seeing the things I thought I had hidden so well?

    Did she mock me?

    No. What’s the point now?

    Footsteps could be heard.

    But she didn’t move.

Resistance, screams, she no longer felt the need for them.

    Click.

She heard the sound of a key-like object being inserted.

    And then, something opened.

She flinched at the sensation that followed.

    “…Are you hurt badly?”

An embrace. Warmth transmitted to her body.

Even without lifting her head, she knew.

    It was Scarlett.

She didn’t answer. She didn’t want to think about anything.

    Rustle-

After hugging her tightly, the presence moved behind her.

Once again, a warm embrace enveloped her body from behind.

Her body involuntarily relaxed, and she leaned into Scarlett.

    Shhh-

Soon, a sound like wind blowing in her ears could be heard.

The pain in her forehead disappeared, and a comfortable sensation spread through her body.

    Her body gradually relaxed.

    “There… It won’t hurt anymore… right?”

Scarlett’s voice was different from usual.

It felt like it entered her heart and whispered directly near her subconscious.

    Strangely, her head felt hazy.

“Good girl. You were very surprised, weren’t you? It’s all okay now…”

Scarlett stroked her head, saying it was okay.

She blankly looked up at Scarlett at her touch.

Scarlett was smiling. As if she had known this would happen.

    It didn’t matter anymore.

Her embrace was warm. She wanted to feel this warmth more.

She didn’t want to think about anything right now.

As if craving human warmth, she turned and buried herself in Scarlett’s embrace.

It was something she could never have imagined before.

But with her shattered mind, she couldn’t possibly think rationally.

“There, there… I’ll tell you what happened, you must have been very surprised.”

Nestled in her arms, she nodded.

    “Can you hear my heartbeat…?”

Scarlett brought her ear to her chest as if to let her listen.

    Thump-thump. Her heart kept beating.

    She gently closed her eyes.

The sound of a human for the first time in a long while.

Strangely, her mind felt at ease.

“Your heart and mine have a magic stone embedded in them.”

    Magic stone.

Originally, a gem that serves as the heart of a demon.

All demons have a magic stone, which allows them to share thoughts and emotions.

This is why they possess such strong and cohesive power.

Now, she finally understood the entire situation.

It made sense why she couldn’t find the device when searching the prison; it was implanted in her body.

“Even though it was just a tiny fragment, so you didn’t know… it tells me your strong desires, your surroundings, through your heartbeat.”

It’s not omnipotent, though, Scarlett added.

She patted her back, as if comforting a child.

Scarlett had known everything from the beginning.

“As long as I’m not dead…”

She whispered softly in her ear.

    “You can’t escape.”

    I can’t escape, I can’t escape.

The words kept echoing in her mind.

Despite that, she clung to Scarlett even more, craving her warmth.

That’s enough. I don’t want to think about anything difficult or painful anymore.

She was slowly breaking down without realizing it.

    “Now… and, lastly.”

Scarlett rummaged through her clothes and pulled out a hidden pineapple.

“Do you know why the outside of the escape hole looked like a grassy field?”

    She shook her head, no.

Hearing her mention the escape hole, she realized Scarlett knew everything.

No, it was foolish arrogance to think she wouldn’t know from the start.

Perhaps it was a self-protective thought to maintain her sanity.

Scarlett smiled and stroked her head.

The touch felt good. She rubbed her head against Scarlett’s hand, enjoying the warmth.

Scarlett deliberately held out the pineapple.

    “Fairy meat.”

She said briefly, adding an explanation.

“It’s also called pineapple. It’s meat processed from the corpses of fairies… It’s sweet, sour, and delicious, but prolonged consumption causes hallucinations.”

Hallucinations of what the person desires most, Scarlett added.

Only then did she understand why the fairy had vomited while looking at it.

    Fairies eat anything well.

The only thing they reject is fairy meat.

In the end, it meant there was no hope of escape from the beginning.

She silently wrapped her arms around Scarlett’s neck.

It’s okay now. She didn’t want to think about anything difficult or painful anymore.

“Hmm… I think this is enough now.”

Scarlett said meaningfully and kissed her lips.

Then, she inserted her tongue for a deep, passionate kiss.

She desperately clung to Scarlett’s body.

Opening her mouth, she intertwined her tongue with Scarlett’s, actively exchanging saliva and raising the heat.

As if trying to forget everything that had happened so far.

Eventually, Scarlett began to slowly caress her buttocks.

    Squish-

The place where her fingers were inserted during the kiss was her own crevice.

    It was already moist.

    Squish, squish-

She relentlessly stirred the parts where she was weak, injecting pleasure.

    “Puhah..”

    Finally, their lips parted.

Scarlett whispered softly while holding her tightly.

“Let’s do the rest in bed.”

    Fsssss-

White powder fell on her nose, and her consciousness gradually faded.

She surrendered to the overwhelming drowsiness.

What would happen to her now?

Whatever it was, she felt it wouldn’t be difficult or painful anymore.

    Entrusting everything to Scarlett, pleasantly…

    Her consciousness slowly faded away.
