Chapter 119.1
by AfuhfuihgsChapter 119 – Rule 31: The Leader Restores Order in Academy City (21)
*Crackle!*
Turquoise electricity surged from the Iron Dragon Staff that Woo-jin gripped. Though he had briefly died and been transported to the Reverse World, his inner magic was still abundant.
Woo-jin stood beside Goliath, and together, they took a combat stance against Se-Ah.
“Huh…? What’s… going on…? Huh…?”
Se-Ah awkwardly smiled, confused by the situation.
She was deeply perplexed.
Woo-jin remained composed, seemingly having grasped everything that was happening, while Goliath just laughed as if this outcome was perfectly natural. It was as if everything was unfolding exactly as planned.
Now, the one struggling to understand the unfolding events was Se-Ah.
“Seems like there’s no room for a chat, huh?”
Se-Ah gave up trying to understand and steeled herself for battle.
“Goliath.”
“What is it?”
Goliath responded with a gleeful tone to Woo-jin’s call.
“I’ll repay my debt.”
“Shut it. I woke you up for my own goals…!”
“Listen up. When her eyes start glowing, don’t make eye contact or—”
“Haha! Bring it on!!”
*Whoosh!*
Goliath leaped forward, laughing uproariously, without waiting for Woo-jin to finish his sentence.
“Could you let me finish my damn sentence…!”
Woo-jin scowled and quickly followed behind Goliath.
*Whoosh!*
Se-Ah’s red eyes began to emit a sinister glow once more.
At that moment.
*Crack!*
“…!”
Se-Ah was startled.
A fissure formed in front of Woo-jin and Goliath, and both men jumped through it into subspace. It was a swift maneuver executed just as Se-Ah’s eyes started to glow.
Both men were recipients of the Golden Sheep’s blessing.
Moreover, Woo-jin had already determined during the first semester that Goliath could utilize his fissures.
Goliath, confident that Woo-jin would assist him, moved decisively.
On the surface, it looked as though Goliath ignored Woo-jin’s warning and charged forward recklessly, but in truth, he had kept Woo-jin’s words in mind.
*Crack!!*
Two new fissures appeared, one behind Se-Ah and one to her left. Woo-jin and Goliath burst out of them at incredible speed.
By then, Se-Ah’s eye powers, meant to transport them to the Reverse World, had faltered.
*Crackle!!*
Woo-jin swung the Iron Dragon Staff, now surrounded by turquoise lightning.
*Boom!!*
Goliath launched his massive fist, cloaked in a powerful gravitational field.
*Crash!!!*
The impact of the electric shockwave and the explosive gravitational wave struck Se-Ah simultaneously, shattering her body and sending her flying like a ball.
The gravitational wave, following the path of Goliath’s punch, tore through the reinforced outer walls of the Central Tower with ease.
Se-Ah was hurled far outside the building.
‘Even with that power, you’re not invincible.’
Woo-jin recalled his knowledge of the original storyline.
In the original, Se-Ah had died.
If the cause was Baek-seo, it was likely that Se-Ah had been assassinated without realizing it.
No matter how powerful Se-Ah’s abilities were, they weren’t her own.
She was still just a human.
That meant she could be defeated.
Moreover, with Woo-jin and Goliath able to teleport freely, even Se-Ah wouldn’t be able to deal with them easily.
*Whoosh!*
As Se-Ah’s body flew through the air, it became encased in red magic.
A bizarre phenomenon then occurred.
Se-Ah’s body suddenly stopped mid-air and began to rewind as if the scene were being played in reverse.
*Swoosh!*
More red magic enveloped Se-Ah’s body, and her severe injuries were swiftly restored.
“…!”
*Boom!!*
At the same time, a sudden shockwave erupted from the spot where Se-Ah had been standing just before being attacked.
Woo-jin and Goliath were swept up by the blast, slamming into the Central Tower’s walls as they shielded their faces with their arms.
The force was weak, merely enough to throw them back.
It wasn’t intended as an attack.
‘I see….’
It was a highly unnatural phenomenon.
Recalling Geumyang’s explanation, Woo-jin deduced the basic principle behind Se-Ah’s power.
‘The fact that Goliath and I attacked her was erased. The sequence of events was altered so that Se-Ah simply jumped outside the building.’
Her unique ability: “Fate Recalibration.”
Magic Technique Type 1: “Causal Exchange.”
‘She’s outright defying the laws of reality.’
It was truly beyond the realm of normalcy.
Even in a world filled with fantastical powers, Woo-jin now understood why Geumyang had described Se-Ah’s abilities as being outside the bounds of reason.
To defeat Se-Ah, she would need to be incapacitated instantly or killed in one blow.
The earlier ambush by Woo-jin and Goliath was an excellent surprise attack, but it hadn’t been enough to render Se-Ah unconscious. The Reverse World’s magic had protected her.
“Haa…!”
Se-Ah scowled.
She was already back to her unscathed state.
“As expected, you two are quite strong….”
It was a combined attack by the two greatest powerhouses of Neo Seoul. Even with Se-Ah’s overwhelming strength, it was impossible for her to remain unscathed.
“I’ll go all out as well.”
Se-Ah smiled slyly and extended her arms to the sides.
A halo of red magic formed behind her, expanding into a pair of wings composed of countless human-shaped figures.
*Whoosh!* The flapping wings generated powerful gusts of wind.
An eerie, subtle glow began to emanate from Se-Ah.
“What the hell…?”
“It’s grotesque….”
Se-Ah hovered at the center of the Central Area, drawing everyone’s attention.
Reporters who had been capturing the scene with zoomed-in camera functions from a distance broadcast her image live, unwilling to be outdone by Shinso’s real-time coverage.
Citizens stared at the spectacle either through windows or streaming broadcasts, their mouths agape at the radiance Se-Ah emitted.
“It doesn’t seem like the power of one person…? It feels like the combined magic of many people….”
The student council president of Saein High School muttered.
Magic infused with the life force of countless people.
A chilling aura enveloped Neo Seoul.
Anyone of Tier 5 or above could sense just how grotesque that red magic was.
Something that should never have been revealed to the world was now on display.
*Zap!!!*
Members of the Do-hwa Group who had been quietly waiting in the Central Area leaped up simultaneously. Their eyes glowed red. They had all been brainwashed by Se-Ah.
Each member of the Do-hwa Group sprouted a red halo and wings behind them, similar to what had appeared behind Se-Ah, albeit on a smaller scale.
The Do-hwa Group members formed ranks around Se-Ah, sending a shiver down Woo-jin’s spine.
“They brought just fifty people, huh…!”
