Chapter 116: Summer Vacation, Part 2

Thanks to Do Jin-ho’s sacrifice, BGG Company was going on its first summer vacation since its founding.

It could be seen as a summer workshop or a group retreat.

Whatever the term, the important thing was that it was an opportunity for team bonding.

    “Overseas? Can’t we go overseas?”

“What if we just go overseas…”

The two scatterbrained women suggested going to an overseas hotel for their staycation…

    “Do you have passports?”

    “Huh?”

    “Ah…”

Unfortunately, neither of them had a passport.

As far as Hayoon knew, neither of them had been overseas since their second year of high school, and it wasn’t as if they could just go overseas whenever they wanted when they were younger.

    Naturally, they wouldn’t have passports.

“I don’t have one either, and it seems like it takes a while to get a passport issued these days, so let’s go domestically.”

    “Where in Korea?”

“Gwangalli? Haeundae? Should we go to Busan?”

Choi Arin’s eyes sparkled as she blurted out random places.

    However, Busan wasn’t realistic.

None of them had a driver’s license.

“How about going to a hotel that serves good Western, Chinese, and Japanese food and enjoying breakfast, lunch, and dinner there? It’ll be difficult to travel outside of Seoul without a car.”

    “Ooh, that sounds good.”

“A five-star hotel? Should we book something like that?”

They hadn’t made any concrete plans.

They just nodded in agreement to whatever Hayoon suggested.

Since BGG Company started as a team Hayoon put together, evolving from a club to a company…

Regular meetings usually went like this.

Someone would suggest an idea, and Hayoon would refine it and present a concrete plan.

“There are hotels with pools, spas, and even massage rooms and services.”

“I’ll look for something that fits our needs. There are hotels that offer luxurious lunch menus.”

Hayoon said she would take care of everything…

    “Ahhh…”

    “Why are you laughing, Unnie?”

Choi Arin was unexpectedly laughing, so Hayoon asked her why.

    “Let’s go buy swimsuits!”

    She replied.

Indeed, it wouldn’t make sense to book a suite with a pool without buying swimsuits. As they were about to end the meeting…

“But are we not inviting the others?”

    “Ah.”

Do Jin-ho pointed out something they had almost overlooked.

    Seo Ji-woo, Baek-seol, and Jo A-yeong.

Although the three new recruits hadn’t officially started their activities, they were members of BGG Company.

It would be strange to exclude them…

“Wouldn’t it be okay to inform them separately? We couldn’t even hang out properly when we were in school.”

“Right, right. We’re all classmates, so what’s wrong with classmates going to a hotel together? There’s no need to feel awkward.”

Hong Seo-hyun and Choi Arin drew a clear line.

They hadn’t even hung out together before, so why should they take the three new members, whom they barely knew?

    “Hmm…”

    Hayoon pondered.

    “Okay, you’re right.”

    She nodded in agreement.

“Unnie! You called me Unnie again!”

Hong Seo-hyun begged Hayoon to call her Unnie again, like a child asking for praise.

    “What’s gotten into you, Senpai?”

    “Argh!”

Hayoon chuckled and called her Senpai, and Hong Seo-hyun pretended to collapse, clutching the back of her neck.

Their playful banter was already a familiar routine.

    One summer night.

Hong Seo-hyun started typing on her keyboard, preparing a post for her familiar [Scarlet_Official] Bluebird account.

    “Hello, this is Scarlet.”

Since BGG Company was formed, we haven’t had a proper vacation.

Next Wednesday and Thursday, I’ll be going on a workshop with my colleagues who have supported me for the past year and a half.

It seems like I’m taking a break soon after changing my streaming schedule, but please understand.

    Sorry.

    “Done.”

She uploaded the break announcement, satisfied with her writing.

After reacting to a few crying emojis posted on her fan cafe, she went to bed.

Tomorrow, she was going to the department store with Choi Arin and Hayoon.

Since they were going swimsuit shopping, it was better to sleep early to avoid oversleeping.

And so, after a good night’s sleep, the next day arrived.

    “Is this too much?”

Hong Seo-hyun, fresh out of the shower, scrutinized her outfit in the mirror.

She had put in quite a bit of effort.

A two-piece outfit that accentuated her slim waist, and a small bag as a point of emphasis.

She wondered if it was too much, but it felt wrong to go to the department store dressed too casually.

    “Yeah, this is appropriate.”

She looked again and decided it was appropriate.

Hong Seo-hyun nodded to herself and left her apartment, transferring buses a few times to arrive at a department store in Seoul.

    –On my way.
    –Me too.

Hayoon and Choi Arin briefly replied in their group chat, saying they were also on their way.

    “Ah.”

Come to think of it, she could have just left with Hayoon.

Perhaps because it was swimsuit shopping day, she felt strangely nervous and pouted.

    “Excuse me.”

    “Ah, yes…”

Seeing people who clearly looked wealthy entering the department store, she stepped aside and stood in a corner near the entrance.

    “I’m glad I wore jeans…”

Seeing men in suits and women in formal attire entering one after another, she felt like she would have felt self-conscious if she had dressed casually.

Hong Seo-hyun nodded, pleased with her choice of outfit.

    “Hi.”

    Choi Arin arrived.

Choi Arin was dressed in the classic jeans, white t-shirt, and cardigan combo.

It was casual, but her height and proportions were so good that she looked like a model.

    “Oh, you’re here?”

    “Where’s Hayoon?”

    “She hasn’t arrived yet.”

“She said she was leaving school early, so she’s probably running late.”

“Ah, right. She’ll be wearing her uniform then.”

“Our Hayoon still has to wear her uniform for another six months. Poor thing.”

They chuckled together, sympathizing with the woes of a high school senior.

There wasn’t much for third-year students to do at vocational high schools like Yongsan IT High School.

Especially for those like Choi Arin, whose career path was already decided.

Hong Seo-hyun and Choi Arin, having experienced it firsthand, knew the feeling all too well.

    “I’m here.”

As they were chatting, Hayoon arrived.

    “Let’s go in.”

    “Okay.”

The three women chatted cheerfully and entered the department store, where elegant classical music played.

The atmosphere was indeed different, befitting a department store frequented by wealthy people.

The three of them walked in, trying their best to appear confident.

“I checked, and the breakfast menu at our hotel is fixed. So, we’re having Japanese food for lunch at the department store.”

    “Yay!”

    “Boss is the best.”

Hayoon, who had skipped lunch and left school early, naturally led them to a Japanese restaurant in the department store.

She would have preferred to have Chinese, Western, and Japanese food for lunch, dinner, and breakfast, respectively…

But the breakfast menu at the hotel was a bit lacking, so they decided to have Japanese food at the department store.

“The meal will be expensed as a company dinner, so just order whatever you want. We don’t have any other expenses to process, so we should use the budget now.”

    “Yay!”

    “Company lunch!”

Especially since meals with multiple employees could be expensed.

Choi Arin, who often complained about taxes and health insurance, was particularly pleased.

“Wow, look at the color of the sushi. Amazing…”

“I should save this and show it off during my stream.”

“Be careful not to show your face in the reflection, Senpai.”

    “Of course. I’m a pro.”

They entered the Japanese restaurant and started taking pictures with their phones as the food arrived, chattering excitedly.

It was natural for girls their age to love posting pictures on Instagram.

Even Hong Seo-hyun, a popular Vtuber, couldn’t resist taking pictures.

    “The lighting is good…”

Hayoon, also a girl, couldn’t resist taking pictures either.

After enjoying their photo time and filling their stomachs…

“Wow… there are so many swimsuits…”

It was time to look around the swimsuit store.

It was a bit embarrassing since they had just eaten…

But they would see each other in swimsuits at the hotel anyway.

    “Shall we start by undressing?”

Hayoon, eager to get things done quickly, spoke first.

Her choice of words seemed a bit inappropriate.
