    Chapter 110: Flancia Mansion (6)

The moment the door opened, Isabel and the head of the household’s conversation ended. The head of the household glared at Isabel with displeasure, while Isabel walked down the hallway with a composed expression. The man said to the noblewoman.

“It seems the persuasion didn’t work out.”

“I know, right? Just because she got her hands on a tiny vineyard, does she think she’s some kind of big shot? How dare she act so insolent……. If only she had bowed her head to the head of the household, her husband wouldn’t have met such a grim fate.”

    “Indeed.”

The two spoke thus, glancing sideways at the open door. After all, the time was approaching for screams to echo from that room and for Evan to be flustered. The noblewoman covered her ears in preparation for the screams. The man stood up, eager to see the maid burst out naked.

    “Evan!”

However, no incident occurred. Evan emerged leisurely, arm-in-arm with the maid, and Isabel didn’t even show a hint of displeasure, despite Evan openly caressing the maid.

The noblewoman, who had tightly shut her eyes and ears, cautiously lifted her head when nothing happened. Seeing Evan and Isabel chatting warmly, she scowled. The man, his face flushed, looked crestfallen at the maid clinging tightly to Evan and muttered,

“Fuck, that worthless bitch. I was going to treat her nicely.”

The maid’s face was deeply flushed. Her lips, usually unresponsive, were slightly parted and glistening, and her legs moved with an odd, unsteady gait. She kept rubbing her thighs together, openly indulging in the lingering sensations in her lower body.

Anyone could tell she had thoroughly enjoyed herself. The thought that she wasn’t a skilled operative from the Thieves’ Guild, but just a common whore, crossed the man’s mind.

“What is it? What on earth happened?”

The two lowered their voices so Evan and Isabel couldn’t hear. The noblewoman’s nagging irritated the man as well. The man pointed at the maid and said,

“Can’t you see? That whore spread her legs for Evan willingly! Damn it, those vulgar sluts only care about size, they don’t know the importance of technique. Honestly.”

“No, what is this……! This shouldn’t be happening……?”

This operation did have a Plan B. The problem was that Plan B didn’t account for the maid getting screwed by Evan and falling for him instead. The Plan B the noblewoman had prepared involved the maid tearing her own clothes and screaming if Evan rejected her advances.

But Evan hadn’t rejected the advances. The operative raised by the Thieves’ Guild had just finished having a good time, disobeying orders. Faced with this unexpected turn of events, the noblewoman was speechless, clutching her head. The head of the household, who followed her out into the hallway, also scowled and said,

    “What the hell?”

Evan glanced at the head of the household before resuming his conversation with Isabel. Their conversation consisted of trivial matters like how much they missed each other and how nervous she was talking to the head of the household.

    “What is going on here?”

The head of the household said this while glaring at the maid. The maid next to Evan flinched when she met his gaze, then clung even tighter to Evan like a limpet, shaking her head stubbornly.

The head of the household frowned. He knew. That the operation had failed. He realized that trying to force the issue now would only damage the family’s reputation and wouldn’t lead to Isabel and Evan’s divorce. The head of the household glared at the noblewoman. The noblewoman trembled like a mouse before a cat, then hunched over, avoiding his eyes.

The head of the household turned away, fuming inwardly. The man watched the maid walk away with Evan and grumbled,

“I loved you, you fucking whore.”

    “So, who is that woman?”

Back in the room, Isabel asked about the maid clinging to Evan. She was as beautiful as Elena, but so terrible at her job that Isabel couldn’t help but notice her. Evan stroked the maid’s head and said,

“She’s from the Thieves’ Guild. She was trying to frame me for rape.”

Isabel looked around, then lowered her voice.

“What? She tried to do that here? Why? Who put her up to it?”

Evan nodded. There were many questions, but one answer was enough.

“The head of the household. I guess he really hates me.”

    Isabel frowned.

“Why would he do that? Did he dislike you that much?”

Evan could only shrug, as he didn’t know the reason either. Even asking the maid wouldn’t help; she only knew her mission was to make Evan look like a rapist, not the specifics.

“I don’t know the reason. Like you said, maybe he just doesn’t like me.”

    Isabel caressed Evan’s cheek.

“Our Evan is such a good person. That was truly awful.”

“Right? I’m a good guy who doesn’t do bad things.”

    “That’s right. That’s right.”

Isabel pouted and nodded. Evan kissed her, then looked back at the maid. She had been sitting quite rigidly, but as Evan stared, she relaxed her posture and said,

    “Ah, perhaps a second round……?”

Evan quickly shook his head at her, then looked at Isabel.

“…No. It’s not that. Isabel, I want to take her with us?”

Isabel looked hesitant at Evan’s words.

“…..Take someone from the Thieves’ Guild? Evan, that’s too dangerous. Their leader is that hero guy, isn’t he? What if we draw unwanted attention?”

“….I know it’s dangerous. But I can’t just leave her. She’s… how should I put it? It’s better for her to work with us than to die meaninglessly. Maybe we can make a deal. It might be better for them to sell her to us for money than just dispose of her. They’re basically human traffickers anyway.”

    “Still……. I think it’s too risky.”

“Isn’t there any way? I can’t just take her recklessly……”

Just then. The maid tightly grasped Evan’s hand. She gave him a faint smile and nodded at Evan.

“Evan-nim. I’m okay. Please, just let me go.”

Evan shook his head. If they decided to get revenge together once, they had to see it through to the end. After all, you need someone to dance beside you when burying an enemy’s corpse. Isabel thought deeply, then looked up again.

    “….Let’s just take her.”

Both Evan and the maid’s eyes widened. They were curious why she had suddenly changed her mind after trying to dissuade him. As all eyes turned to her, Isabel blushed and twisted a strand of her hair with her fingers.

“No, well… it’s embarrassing when you stare like that.”

Evan covered the maid’s eyes. Seeing this, Isabel let out a small laugh and continued,

“If they wanted to use the Thieves’ Guild, assassination would have been easier, so why use such a complicated method? It means my family wanted me to divorce you naturally, making it my fault. The head of the household kept suggesting I meet other men earlier.”

    “You refused?”

“Yeah. He even mentioned some degenerate from a hero’s family? No one is as good as our Evan.”

“Even heroes are just food to me.”

Evan said this, subconsciously glancing around. Isabel chuckled at his cute boasting, while the maid stroked Evan’s thigh. Isabel said,

“It wasn’t just that they disliked you, Evan. They wanted to solidify their position in the capital by marrying me off to a hero’s family. Especially since I now have a decent dowry, like that vineyard. They wanted to secure their standing through marriage during these uncertain times.”

Evan nodded. The maid nodded too, looking intrigued. He thought she was a cold beauty, but she had quite a few cute quirks. Isabel chuckled softly at the maid nodding along with Evan and continued her explanation.

“So……. whether we take her with us or not, they’ll attack us in some other way. Because… the people in this family want me to divorce you and marry into the hero’s family. Even though this plan failed, if we go back home and you suddenly die of illness, Evan, or meet an untimely end… it would be easier for them to pressure me into remarrying, wouldn’t it?”

    Isabel’s words made sense.

“Evan, we don’t know the attack methods of the Thieves’ Guild or assassins. It would be better to take her with us to prepare for the next assassination or ambush. Oh, right. And… you.”

Isabel paused her conversation with Evan and addressed the maid. The maid, her blue hair tied up, nodded impassively at Isabel’s call.

    “Yes.”

“Do you happen to know anything about management or trade…?”

Evan grinned at Isabel’s question. The maid said,

“Yes. I learned some for infiltration training purposes.”

    “Really?”

    Isabel’s eyes sparkled.
