Chapter 109.1
by AfuhfuihgsChapter 109 – Rule 31: The Leader Restores Order in Academy City (11)
Two Hanyang Federal Academy escort vehicles were speeding down the road.
The Six Sinners, Han Seo-jin and Moon Chae-won, who were taken from the Ahsung High Disciplinary Committee, were being transported in separate vehicles.
Han Seo-jin was still restrained in a crystallized state, showing no signs of change yet.
However, changes often come unexpectedly.
*Crack.*
“Huh?”
A strange cracking sound made the Spartoi look up.
For some reason, there was a large crack in the crystal that made up Han Seo-jin’s body.
And it happened in an instant.
Crash!!
“!”
The crystals that had encased Seo-jin shattered completely, scattering everywhere. Seo-jin, who was restrained on top of the crystal that covered his skin, easily loosened his bindings.
Seo-jin immediately operated his magic power to enhance his body and escaped the spot.
“Emergency…!”
A Spartoi hastily tried to report.
Crash!!
The surveillance wall was destroyed, and Seo-jin’s hand gripped the Spartoi’s head. Immediately, a dark purple magic power surged into Seo-jin’s hand.
The ominous energy seeped into the Spartoi’s entire body, and his eyes turned bloodshot red.
‘This magic power… It’s different from before…!’
The captured Spartoi was one of the Head Principal’s subordinates.
Therefore, she knew the Six Sinner Han Seo-jin well.
But for some reason, Seo-jin’s magic power density was on a completely different level than before.
So much so that he, a Spartoi, couldn’t stand against it.
Thud.
Finally, the Spartoi collapsed like a lifeless doll, breathing his last.
“What’s that noise!? Ugh…!”
The other Spartoi, who had rushed in after hearing the commotion, entered the surveillance compartment, were briefly startled, but quickly grasped the situation and took up a battle stance.
Seo-jin’s cold, emotionless eyes fixed on them.
It took less than 30 seconds for them to turn into corpses.
“So stiff….”
Seo-jin touched his shoulder with one hand and stretched his neck from side to side.
He was still dressed in the hooded robe he wore when he was crystallized right after losing to Ahn Woo-jin.
Seo-jin pulled out a half-broken skull mask from his robe and placed it on his face. It was the moment the Six Sinner, the Necromancer, had returned.
Everyone in the escort compartment, except the driver, was dead.
By the hand of just one person, Han Seo-jin.
The driver, who remained oblivious to what had transpired due to how quietly it was handled, still had no idea of the situation.
Seo-jin began to walk. Dark purple magic power rose from the floor, and his body sank below it.
Only corpses were left in the escort compartment.
The inside of the other escort vehicle, which was moving alongside.
Moon Chae-won was sitting quietly with her eyes closed, wearing a special restraint suit.
Since the vehicle was designed for the confinement and transport of criminals, the interior was equipped with restraint facilities.
Chae-won clicked her tongue, feeling more uncomfortable than when she was at Ahsung High.
“What’s even going on…? Hm?”
Suddenly, Chae-won felt something off and opened her eyes wide.
For some reason, the presence of those in the surveillance compartment beyond the mirror had disappeared. To be precise… had they collapsed?
Soon, a sinister presence was felt from behind her. Reflecting off the surveillance wall in front of her like a mirror, she saw a dark purple magic circle forming on the floor, summoning something.
Chae-won turned her head back and saw a familiar face.
“Ohh…!”
Chae-won exclaimed in awe.
The person who appeared behind her was an expressionless schoolgirl.
It was Han Seo-jin.
“When did you wake up!? Did you come to get me?”
Seo-jin summoned a necromantic beast without answering. The summoned creature slashed at Chae-won’s special restraint suit with its sharp claws.
“Whoo-hoo~.”
Chae-won whistled and got up from her seat.
“Whoa.”
Having not stood up in a long time, her legs wobbled as she struggled to find her balance.
Once she regained her footing, Chae-won looked at Seo-jin with a smirk.
“Wow, this feels amazing! Is this what freedom is like? It’s been so long since I stood up, it’s hard to stay on my feet. Haha…!”
“The Spartoi will soon notice the escort car has been breached and come after us. The ones here were weak. If real support forces join, it’ll get tough.”
“Spartoi? Even if they come, I don’t think we’d lose, unless Seo Gang-jin shows up~. But damn, you’ve gotten stronger, haven’t you?”
“A lot has happened.”
Seo-jin reached out his magic-wreathed hand and pressed it against the surveillance wall.
Bang!
The surveillance wall shattered helplessly.
Chae-won rotated her wrists, loosening up her body. The smile on her face slowly faded.
“Hey.”
“?”
Seo-jin stopped.
“The person I met when my heart stopped for a moment, that was you, right?”
“…Yes.”
Chae-won let out a dry laugh.
“Why? Is there something that happens when we die? Like the sky turning red…. I felt so scared back then, you know?”
“I’ll tell you on the way.”
*Swish.*
“…….”
Chae-won instantly generated mechanical blades from her arms and pointed them at Seo-jin’s neck.
Seo-jin calmly turned his gaze to Chae-won.
A bright smile was on Chae-won’s face.
“I don’t recall saying I’d follow you, did I? And I don’t know why someone like you, who doesn’t even have a shred of camaraderie, would bother rescuing me~? You’re really suspicious, you know?”
“…I learned the truth. That’s why I want you to help me.”
“The truth? What truth? Did you meet some King of the Underworld or something? Heaven? Hell? The afterlife? What kind of truth?”
Seo-jin fully turned to face Chae-won. Seeing his serious expression, Chae-won lowered her mechanical blade. She hadn’t intended to attack Seo-jin from the start.
Chae-won raised her arms and shrugged.
“Well, whatever. I’ve already decided what I’m going to do anyway.”
“What is it…?”
“Everything pisses me off. Everything is annoying and irritating.”
Chae-won grinned widely, stretched out her arm, and gave a thumbs-down gesture.
“So, I’m going to tear this city apart along with the Head Principal.”
“…Like the Disciplinary Committee Leader?”
Chae-won was startled.
“The Disciplinary Committee Leader? You mean Ahn Woo-jin?”
“Yes.”
“Why would that bastard…?”
The notion that the Disciplinary Committee Leader, who once upheld law and order, was now aiming to destroy Academy City was shocking.
It made Chae-won realize just how far things had spiraled out of control.
