    Chapter 106.2

    (Contined)

    Woo-jin leaned closer towards Se-Ah.

“Why are you trying to take over the Black Market?”

It was a question he had kept to himself until now.

Se-Ah’s stated goal was to become a necessary evil to create a “better world.”

That’s why she wanted to control the Black Market.

Woo-jin had once investigated it secretly, but he found no evidence of her transactions or other circumstantial evidence. It was as if she had meticulously prepared to avoid getting caught.

He had also wondered how the Do-hwa Group could even dominate such a massive market like the Black Market, but as long as Se-Ah’s intentions were good, Woo-jin had no intention of meddling with her.

However, right now, he was questioning her sincerity to determine whether she was truly trustworthy.

    “Uh… hmm. That’s a pretty strong question, isn’t it? One I didn’t expect at all….”

Se-Ah awkwardly laughed, scratching her cheek.

“I didn’t think you’d ask something like that. Though it wouldn’t be strange if you knew… how did you find out?”

“There are ways to find out.”

It was knowledge from the original work.

Something a simple investigation couldn’t reveal.

“Do you want to dodge the question?”

Se-Ah let out a small sigh and asked in a quieter tone.

“Then why didn’t you arrest me?”

“The Black Market is a neutral zone. It’s outside our jurisdiction at Ahsung High.”

“The things I’ve done there would still violate the school’s rules, wouldn’t they? You’d have more than enough grounds to arrest me.”

“Yeah… But that much, I can overlook. You’ve helped me out a lot. Besides, I don’t have solid evidence against you. I’m not that inflexible. As long as you don’t commit major crimes like the Six Felons, we’re fine.”

Woo-jin’s goal was to prevent the dystopia from coming.

He didn’t intend to treat Se-Ah as a clear enemy just because he wasn’t sure if she would bring about a dystopia. He had only been wary because she might become the Great Villain.

Considering Se-Ah’s sincere dreams and her past actions,

Woo-jin couldn’t help but want to believe in her.

“Wow… That’s not the kind of thing you’d expect the Disciplinary Committee Leader to say.”

Se-Ah chuckled dryly, leaning against the bed.

“But that’s a relief! Honestly, I was worried you were too strict, but if that’s your stance, then maybe we’ll see eye to eye one day?”

“I’m not interested in the Black Market. As long as you don’t mess around, I’m fine with you controlling it. Someone’s going to control it anyway. Better you than someone else.”
“Senior, you’re getting more and more appealing to me. You’re making me want you even more.”

    Se-Ah replied playfully.

    “So? You still haven’t answered.”

“I’ll tell you if you agree to work under me.”

    “…….”

“Don’t look at me like that; it’s scary. Well, it’s all for good reasons. Don’t worry. I’m just trying to make a better world, and I have no desire to be at odds with you, Senior.”

    Se-Ah chuckled softly.

“As I’ve said repeatedly, I like you a lot, Senior. Why wouldn’t I like our Disciplinary Committee Leader, who’s striving to create a better world? People with similar ideas naturally become close, don’t they?”

    “Is that so….”

“Oh, oops. I’m keeping someone who’s exhausted for too long. I should go do some breathing exercises. Call me anytime if you’re bored. Since martial law’s in effect, I can’t go to school anyway, so I have plenty of time.”

    “Yeah, thanks.”

“Feel free to use the shower if you want.”

Se-Ah smiled and left the room.

    The room fell silent.

Eventually, Woo-jin heard a slight cracking sound in his ears, followed by the formation of a small fissure.

    ─ Finally, she’s gone.

From the fissure, the voice of Geumyang resonated in Woo-jin’s ears.

    “Geumyang.”

    ─ Yes?

“Do you think that girl is trustworthy?”

    ─ No.

    “Why?”

─ She’s hiding a lot. Seems sneaky, too.

    “Hiding things, huh….”

Woo-jin stared up at the ceiling.

“That’s something we both have in common.”

    ─ True enough.

“Anyway, I need a favor. Keep an eye on this place to see if it’s trustworthy.”

─ And why should I go through that hassle?

“I’ll treat you to all the curry you can eat once this is over.”

─ Watching humans is my specialty. Leave it to me! Hehe!

The fissure disappeared, and silence returned.

After washing his face in the bathroom, Woo-jin returned to his seat. He took a deep breath, relaxed in his chair, and allowed himself to drift halfway into sleep.

He had a feeling this might be his last chance to rest in this place.

So, he decided to rest as much as he could.

As he was passing the time, Se-Ah came back into the room. About two hours had passed.

Curious about what she would do, Woo-jin pretended to be asleep.

    “Sleep well, Senior.”

Se-Ah covered Woo-jin with a blanket, made sure he was comfortable, and then left the room again.

    ……

    ─ Hey, kid, wake up.

    Several hours later.

While still half-asleep, a faint voice reached Woo-jin’s ears.

“I’m not sleeping. What is it?”

He felt better than before, though still somewhat drowsy, so he responded in a slightly lowered voice.

    ─ Enemies are coming.
