Chapter 106 – Rule 31. The Leader Restores Order in Academy City (8)

    “Where is this…?”

“Tada! This is the secret bunker of our organization, the Do-hwa Group! Wow, you’re the first outsider I’m showing this to, Senior! Haha.”

Ahn Woo-jin had arrived at a well-furnished bunker after riding in the Do-hwa Group’s vehicle. It was cleverly camouflaged in military colors, blending into the mountainside.

There were two reasons Woo-jin had chosen to ride in the Do-hwa Group’s vehicle:

First, there was a risk of being discovered if he kept using spatial leaps repeatedly, which exposed his magic power.

Second, the vehicle was equipped with a well-installed magic barrier. It prevented a reasonable amount of magic power from leaking out of the vehicle.

Compared to the jammer at the Central Tower, it was still a cute little thing, but at least Woo-jin didn’t have to worry about his magic power leaking.

    “You’ve arrived, Lady Se-Ah!”

“Lady Se-Ah! And… Ahsung High’s Disciplinary Committee Leader, welcome.”

As if they were waiting, five Do-hwa Group members greeted Woo-jin and Se-Ah. They were dressed in suits.

“You can trust them. I brought them along since we needed security personnel. They all have a good opinion of you, Senior.”

    “Yeah…”

Unfortunately, Woo-jin had no intention of trusting anyone. He was only here because of Se-Ah’s actions in the past, which had aided him.

He simply needed a place to rest until he was fully prepared. This place seemed perfect for that.

Of course, if things got dangerous, he planned to escape with a spatial leap.

‘What’s this talk about good feelings?’

Woo-jin was aware that Se-Ah wanted to recruit him as her subordinate, all thanks to a previous conversation.

It seemed Se-Ah had been bragging about Woo-jin to her subordinates, like someone counting their chickens before they hatch.

    “Follow me.”

    Se-Ah led Woo-jin along.

    The bunker was quite spacious.

“Senior, you need to rest, right?”

    “How did you know?”

“You were already in a big fight before getting caught by the Police Academy, weren’t you? Also, word has spread that you’ve reached the 7th Tier. If someone that strong does nothing after a big fight, it’s obvious~. You need time to recover your magic power, don’t you? But with martial law declared and all the forces targeting you, it’s hard to get proper rest.”
    “So?”

“I’m going to make sure you get to rest.”

The two of them reached the bedroom.

“Make yourself comfortable. You can sleep if you want. I’ll wake you if anything happens.”

Unless it was Baek-seo, Woo-jin thought it was extremely risky to fall asleep while trusting anyone in the current situation.

“I appreciate the thought, but I got plenty of sleep back in the cell.”

“No need to hold back. Oh, would you like some food if you’re hungry? We have new clothes, too.”

“No, I’m fine. Just providing me with a place to rest is more than enough.”

Woo-jin sat in a chair, while Se-Ah took a seat on the bed, setting the mood for a conversation.

After a brief silence, Se-Ah spoke first.

“Hmm… I won’t ask what’s going on. You seem tangled up in a lot of complicated things.”

    “Do you trust me?”

“Yes. I know exactly what kind of person you are, Senior. We’re mutual stalkers, aren’t we?”

“Mutual stalkers, huh… Anyway, that’s fine.”

“You’re pretty straightforward. If I were in your shoes, I’d be suspicious of everything right now.”

    Woo-jin stared at Se-Ah intently.

“Well… I won’t expect an answer to what I just said!”

Se-Ah brushed it off with a playful tone.

Because, as she implied, it was only natural to suspect her.

“But more importantly, Senior, what are you planning to do? You seem to be under quite a few false charges.”

    “You think they’re false accusations?”

“Of course. That’s why I’m helping you. Oh, are you aware that the Disciplinary Committee has been raided?”

    “A raid? That’s no surprise….”

    It wasn’t unexpected.

Given the circumstances, it was bound to happen.

“Even if you recover your magic power and cause a ruckus, it’ll just add more charges against you.”

“My comrades will handle that. Though I’ll have to do my part, too.”

“Oh, camaraderie and trust? I like that! So, who are these comrades of yours…?”

Woo-jin leaned back against the chair.

“The Disciplinary Committee members. Our mission is to uncover the truth without falling for the tricks of criminals. We’re also the investigative body of Ahsung High.”

“At the moment, Senior, you’re considered a villain in this Academy City, you know? The worst ever. Martial law was declared because of how dangerous you’re deemed.”

“But you said you trust me.”

    “Of course.”

“Then I should at least try to trust those who believe in me.”

    “……”

    “…Why are you smiling?”

Se-Ah was grinning as if she were overjoyed. Her unusual reaction made Woo-jin frown as he questioned her.

“I like people who try to trust others. You’re definitely tempting, Senior~.”

    “Enough… What was I even asking….”

“By the way, Senior, once you’ve recovered your magic power, are you planning to go after the Head Principal?”

Se-Ah asked nonchalantly as if continuing the conversation, but Woo-jin immediately felt an odd discomfort and paused.

    “……?”

Woo-jin’s eyes narrowed. It wasn’t the kind of question one would ask so casually.

Yet Se-Ah was still smiling slyly. Her expression only deepened the sense of unease.

Woo-jin began to sense his surroundings, trying to detect anything hidden in the room. This was possible due to his 7th Tier magic power, which enhanced his physical senses.

However, there didn’t seem to be any hidden cameras or bugs.

    “Is this room soundproof?”

“Yes, it is. After all, it’s a secret base.”

…Could it be that he was overthinking things?

Woo-jin sighed, trying to steady his emotions.

“What kind of answer do you expect from me?”

“I’m just curious, that’s all. Oh, if you don’t want to answer, that’s fine.”

    This conversational style.

It was the typical way someone would shift the topic when sensing discomfort from the other person.

Whether it was an act of consideration or a calculated retreat, Woo-jin found it confusing.

Despite liking Se-Ah, he found it hard to fully trust her.

    ‘If that’s the case.’

Woo-jin decided to ask a straightforward question.

“It’s awkward to bring this up now, but there’s something I’ve been wondering about. Not sure when I’ll get another chance to ask.”

    “You mean me?”

    “Yeah.”

“Wow~. It’s an honor that you’re curious about something regarding me! Ask away. I’m always on your side, Senior.”

Se-Ah pointed at herself with her index finger, clearly delighted.

    Woo-jin leaned closer towards Se-Ah.
