    Chapter 105: ASMR

Kayak’s achievement of 1 million views caused quite a stir in the Twish community.

It’s by no means an easy feat to hit 1 million views in just one day, in 24 hours.

Of course, it wasn’t achieved on Kayak’s own VTube channel but on Jeonghwan’s, which had 500,000 subscribers, but it was an incredible accomplishment nonetheless.

Kayak herself didn’t think much of it, but everyone around her was making a bigger fuss.

This was due to the viewers’ dark yet childish nature.

It was about ranking which streamer was better.

That evaluation was based on criteria like live viewership or the number of VTube subscribers.

That’s why such talk began to surface frequently.

Shouldn’t Kayak be included among the Four Heavenly Kings, the Four Emperors of Twish?

Whether by kicking out one of the current members or by adding a new spot to make it five.

It meant that Kayak’s ‘weight class’ had grown that much.

Although she had streamed before, it was a ridiculous situation where a streamer, who was about to mark her one-year anniversary of streaming seriously, was vying for the ‘throne’ without being pushed aside by other major streamers.

Every single step Kayak had taken so far had pierced through the Twish scene.

Even the anti-fans who secretly disliked Kayak had no choice but to shut their mouths now.

Criticizing her for supposedly being ugly or for being bad at managing her VTube channel had its limits; now, there was nothing left to criticize.

How could you possibly slander someone who had proven everything and become perfect?

Even on the Streamer Gallery, where cursing and mocking streamers was a daily routine, they threw up both hands and feet when it came to Kayak.

[We, the members of the Streamer Gallery, admit our defeat.]

[Ranked in the top viewership since the first month of her debut.]

[The very person who created and established the Abyss Gallery.]

[The star player who led her team to victory in the 2nd Taker Cup Abyss Streamer Tournament.]

[A researcher who endlessly studied Camilla and finally brought the trash character Camilla into the league, and an Abyss gamer with skills comparable to the pros.]

[She even broke the formula that Durahans = no-cam streamers who can’t show their face because they’re ugly.]

[And despite relentless, groundless hate, she even possesses the content creation ability to produce a video with 1 million views in 24 hours.]

[As a representative user of the Streamer Gallery, I acknowledge streamer Kayak-nim as the new sun of Twish.]

    – It’s only right that the pretty-faced Kayak takes over Twish, not a has-been like Taker.

    – The intro is so long.

    – Hating on her like they wanted to kill her and now they just switch sides…

    – Honestly, it was an unwinnable fight from the moment she revealed her face lol.

    – Admitting defeat the second they’re about to get sued lololol.

    – It makes you realize how amazing Lee Junhyeok of Fusion Gaming is, staying at number one for the season despite all the slander from this Streamer Gallery….

    – My King…

Just as even the infamous Streamer Gallery was hailing Kayak as the new king of Twish,

    Kayak’s stream turned on.

It happened just four hours after the boxing video on VTube reached 1 million views.

They say the world changes when you wake up, and that’s exactly what it felt like.

Of course, I was someone who had actually experienced the world changing after waking up, but anyway.

    The content was a success.

    A huge one at that.

I only found out later after hearing from the editors and listening to the excited voice of Jeonghwan, the channel’s owner.

I had heard the video was uploaded, but I only checked it at the beginning and hadn’t been following its progress.

As for my thoughts… I was happy.

What could feel better than doing something and having the result turn out well?

Most of all, I was proud that a decision I made myself had produced such a result.

Although I had simply chosen it out of interest from various advertisement offers, wasn’t it a path I had chosen nonetheless?

I felt it last time too, but I think I might have a surprisingly good eye for things.

I rolled around on my bed, having silly thoughts like maybe I have a natural talent for picking people and choosing things.

Anyway, the results were good, so my mood was good.

With nothing else to do, I decided to turn on my stream.

When you think about it, this was also a result of my fans, my viewers, helping me out in various ways, so I figured I should say thank you.

    [CamillaIsWeak is now live!]

    [The 1 Million View Streamer.]

Unlike usual, I started the stream with a grand title.

Like a general returning triumphantly after seizing victory, I turned on the camera and subtly struck a pose.

The voice donation that subtly played at that exact moment was a bonus.

    [K-ha K-ha]

    [Congrats on 9th on Trending]

[What’s with the energy today lololol you started with the cam on]

[Grand BGM and a grand Kayak… my heart is becoming grand too]

    [Ma’am, it’s at 1.18 million now]

    “Ah, ah, welcome.”

“This is the 1 million view streamer… Kayak.”

I deliberately struck a pose, clearing my throat and cocking my head this way and that in an arrogant manner.

No particular reason, I just felt like doing it today.

Then, a sudden thought came to me.

    ‘What am I doing?’

A wave of embarrassment washed over me, and I sat down and slowly began to speak.

I should have just sat down and talked as planned.

What was all this fuss about?

“Um, first of all, thank you.”

“It’s all thanks to you guys.”

“If it weren’t for you, I wouldn’t have made it to Trending, and I wouldn’t have hit 1 million views so quickly.”

“Thanks to you, Jeonghwan was also really happy….”

[Is this the first time viewers have been helpful?]

[Not the first time, who do you think grew Kayak’s VTube channel?]

[Seems like a lot of new people came in because of this video, Kayak’s VTube is almost at 500k.]

[But this time was really amazing, maybe because it hit the algorithm well, a ton of regular people watched it.]

[Kids at my school were copying it, calling it the ‘Kayak Punch’.]

[There’s a Kayak Challenge too, yep.]

    “A Kayak Challenge?”

From what the viewers told me, this is what happened.

A famous TikToker, saying they wanted to get good at boxing, had uploaded a video of themself hitting a sandbag.

That video included the scene of me boxing.

People who saw it started uploading videos of themselves hitting sandbags just like that person.

It spread and spread until it became a kind of challenge.

    That was a good thing.

A virtuous cycle, you could say.

Things like this must have had a significant impact on the VTube video reaching 1 million views and getting on the Trending page.

    [KingOfTwishKayak has donated 1000 won!]

–You hit 1 million, isn’t there some kind of event?

    “An event?”

“Hmm, it’s a good thing, but I never made any promises to begin with….”

[The service in this house is a bit lacking.]

    [Do a Camilla cosplay.]

[Please stream in the Snow Flake Queen Camilla costume.]

[Ah lol her very existence is a cosplay, why would she need to do a Camilla cosplay?]

    [Horror game gogo?]

    [24-hour stream.]

    An event.

I thought it was rather sudden, but it seemed my viewers thought differently as they quickly jumped on the bandwagon and started pressuring me.

However, I had nothing prepared for today.

I was originally going to take the day off and had only turned on the stream briefly to say thanks.

The viewers demanding an event, and me, who had no such thoughts.

    How should I handle this?

Pro streamers are masters at handling their viewers.

I had marveled more than a few times at how they used a mix of carrot and stick.

They satisfied the viewers’ needs while achieving what they wanted.

I too had now accumulated quite a bit of streaming experience.

Even if I couldn’t orchestrate it as brilliantly as them, I could at least manage a decent imitation.

“I was going to take the day off, but I turned on the stream because I wanted to see you all, to say thank you…”

“Aren’t you guys happy to see me?”

I fixed my gaze on the camera, letting the corners of my eyes droop as I made a slightly sad face.

In response, the chat window began to tremble.

    [Ah… Ahhh…]

[Come to think of it, it’s amazing that Kayak turned on her stream for her viewers even though it was her day off….]

[Is she really starting to farm simps now?]

[As a simp for female streamers, I can confirm Kayak is a female streamer.]

[She’s already streaming for us and providing plenty of other content, why do we need an event?]

[Don’t be fooled lol she did this last time too.]

[It’s so obvious she’s pretending to be hurt, but since the cam is on, it’s super effective….]

The public sentiment calmed down quickly.

Even the people who kept typing “Don’t be fooled” quieted down after I stared steadily at the camera for about 10 seconds.

‘Looking at it this way, Camilla’s appearance feels amazing all over again.’

‘It’s even effective for calming down the viewers.’

    [Dabidabi has donated 10000 won!]

–Even if there’s no event, you’re still streaming before you go, right? What are you streaming today?

    “Today’s stream…”

“Should I just chill and play some Abyss before I go?”

“We can talk while I’m in queue.”

“‘Abyss again? This person only ever plays Abyss?’…”

    “What’s wrong with Abyss?”

    “A low-effort stream?”

“Did you only just realize I’m a low-effort streamer?”

There was no better game than Abyss to play without any preparation.

That must be why it’s called a ‘God-tier game’.

The viewers complaining now would just say that, but once I started the game, they would focus and watch.

It had always been that way.

However, my plan to play Abyss while communicating with the viewers could not be executed.

[They say Abyss is under maintenance.]

    “Ah.”

Just as a viewer said, Abyss was currently undergoing emergency maintenance due to server issues.

There were still two hours left until the maintenance was over.

I was planning on playing Abyss for about two hours before leaving.

‘Then what should I do in the meantime?’

‘There’s nothing in particular to do, should I just end the stream and come back tomorrow?’

I was pondering for a moment.

A viewer sent an eye-poppingly large donation, requesting a different kind of content.

    [ChineseTycoon has donated 1,000,000 won!]

–You have a nice voice, could you do some ASMR?

    “ASMR?”
