Chapter 103: Vampire (End)
by AfuhfuihgsVampire (End)
As I was stretching after getting up, I heard a voice.
[Are you awake?]
A crack tore in the air and Bloody, who seemed to have just woken up, rubbed his eyes with an invisible hand.
“It’s afternoon now.”
[Is that so? Then I’ll sleep more…]
The red bead slipped back into the crack and the subspace door closed.
I’m a problem for waking up late, but you’re a problem too.
That aside.
It’s cold.
I opened the window and gazed endlessly ahead.
Thanks to the bright sunlight shining down, even the edge of the sea coming over to the beach sparkles and shines.
“What are you doing?”
“I was thinking about what to do now.”
Erica, who had chuckled and patted my head, had sat down on my bed in my room at some point.
“Rest for a while.”
“Is that okay? Don’t I have to work again?”
“Ironically, they say job applications in the Seoul area have increased, probably because public safety has improved. It’s fine, so don’t worry.”
An unknown beach on the outskirts of the city.
I’m staying at a residential facility provided by the Association.
After that day, my sister regained consciousness without any problems and recovered quickly after a short treatment, they say.
I wasn’t going to mention that I helped, but somehow she knew and thanked me, so I just nodded.
“How’s your body these days? Come to think of it, I didn’t get a report today. I told you to come running to me and report your physical condition first thing when you wake up in the morning.”
“Sorry. I forgot.”
“What?”
I smiled slightly and stepped back. Her hand trying to grab me swept through the air.
“Come here. Before I scold you.”
“…Okay.”
As I approached, she patted her knee, so I straddled her facing her.
A silent time passed. She kneaded my cheeks as she pleased and then chuckled.
“You’re cute.”
“You’re cuter.”
“Anyway.”
Erica’s face turned slightly red, then she grabbed my shoulders and looked at me with a rather serious face.
“You understand, right? Do I need to say it? If you see any signs?”
Her healing stat was honestly amazing. I knew it was high originally, but I didn’t know it was to the extent of completely replacing even this body’s existing system that bursts and regenerates the heart.
Thanks to that, I no longer need to wield a sword. My eyes won’t turn red either.
It’s an ordinary life.
Is there anything Association rankers can’t do?
Ah, the Association modifier is wrong since I’m on extended leave right now.
“I’ll tell you. So don’t worry too much.”
“…How can I not worry? I’ve seen you crying dozens of times.”
“It’s not that bad.”
When I glared at her while pouting, she pinched my cheek, so I hurriedly hugged her because it hurt.
Satisfied, she began stroking my head.
“What are you going to do today?”
“Shall we go out? We haven’t gone out at all lately. You said you wanted to just stay at home.”
I did say that.
As I was nodding, her voice continued.
“Let’s eat out, go see the sea once, how about that?”
“Sounds good.”
When I took a deep breath, her scent mixed in. She must have just showered as she smelled nice, so I buried my nose in her nape and enjoyed it to my heart’s content.
“W-wait a minute. Aren’t you too close?”
“Can’t help it. You seduced me.”
“Wh-what, huh?!”
I was about to bare my fangs and bury them in her shoulder blade when I was stopped.
“Stop it.”
“Ouch.”
“You’re not a vampire anymore. Now.”
“But your blood tastes so good, what can I do?”
“No. You drank all day yesterday too. Do you know how tired I was that day?”
“That’s not my problem.”
“Why you.”
My cheek was pinched again.
“Sorry.”
“Geez. You only come to your senses when punished like this.”
“If it’s punishment from you, I welcome it.”
“You just have to have the last word.”
When she glared at me, I smiled slightly and hugged her.
“I want to hear something after a long time.”
“What?”
“What you haven’t been saying at all.”
A moment of pondering time passed. Erica, whose face had turned red, cutely twisted her side hair and avoided my gaze.
“Um, ahem! Th-that’s still embarrassing.”
“Is it?”
I deliberately acted expressionless. And turned my gaze away.
“Ah, uh. Don’t get upset. I’ll say it. I’ll say it, okay?”
I smiled slightly.
As I waited, she kept glancing at me and just opening and closing her mouth. When our eyes met, only then did her voice come out.
“…I love, you.”
“Yeah. I love you too.”
“……”
Embarrassed, she coughed a few times and tried to stand up, so I deliberately held her tight and didn’t let go.
“I, I have something busy to do.”
“Like what?”
“Well, I have work to do.”
“What work at a resort?”
“There are things to do even if we’re just staying at home!”
After pondering, I opened my mouth.
“If you say you love me one more time.”
“……”
Then her face turned red again. When I chuckled, she looked displeased.
Still, she opened her mouth.
“…I love you.”
I smiled slightly.
“Me too.”
