Chapter 100.2

Minhyuk was reading documents with his glasses on.
“Laws and precedents. I’ve been pulling everything I can find, trying to figure out how to help the Leader.”
“That’s the defense team’s job, isn’t it? The President already hired a top-notch team.”
Each academy had its own defense team—a professional club of students who study law and act as legal representatives.
Typically run as businesses, they often set up dedicated facilities near major academies due to the vast size of these institutions. Most are located near the judicial academy.
“I’m just seeing if there’s anything else I can do…. I’m so anxious that I’m trying to memorize and study these things. It might help us now or in the future.”
“Minhyuk, you’re really worked up about yesterday….”
Though Minhyuk appeared calm, he was filled with frustration.
He was still upset about the previous night when the police academy had suddenly blocked the Disciplinary Committee’s vehicle, demanding custody of Ahn Woo-jin, leading to a heated argument.
Minhyuk had tried to reason with the police academy, stating that the Leader was neither a flight risk nor a danger of destroying evidence, making an urgent arrest unwarranted. He argued that they had no grounds for custody without a warrant and insisted they were heading to the hospital.
Yet, Woo-jin had patted Minhyuk on the shoulder and voluntarily surrendered himself to the police academy.
Woo-jin had likely made that choice out of concern for Minhyuk and the rest of the Disciplinary Committee, but Minhyuk felt powerless and furious over his inability to do more.
“What are you reading? Want me to take a look?”
When Minhyuk waved the documents, Yesong shook her head and subtly moved away from him.
“I have an allergy to legal terms. They give me hives and make me nauseous….”
“What kind of allergy is that….”
“So, does that mean the Leader will be detained until the trial’s over?”
“Yes.”
At that moment, Oh Baek-seo emerged from the pantry, answering in Minhyuk’s stead. She handed freshly brewed tea to Minhyuk and Yesong.
“Ah, thanks.”
“Thanks. So, Baek-seo, does this mean we need to file a visitation request to see the Leader?”
Baek-seo sat down quietly on the sofa.
“That’s what we’ll have to do. I plan to apply as soon as visitations are allowed.”
“It’s not allowed yet?”
“For now, only the defense team students handling the case can meet him. He’s being held in a special custody prison.”
“This is insane…. What did the Leader do to deserve this….”
“And everyone, there’s something I need to say.”
“Yes?”
It was the first time since becoming a Disciplinary Committee officer that Baek-seo’s expression was so somber.
Minhyuk and Yesong exchanged worried glances.
“What’s wrong, Baek-seo? You look so serious….”
“Can you call Doha? There’s something I need to talk about.”
“Doha? Sure. But what’s this about…?”
“It’s time to reveal some things. For the Leader’s sake, I need to share this now. It’s about me and the Leader.”
Minhyuk and Yesong exchanged confused looks.
…
Ahsung High Underground Detention Center.
The underground area where Moon Chae-won was detained.
“Give me pizza! Pizza! What are you going to do if I end up taking my own life from the stress~?”
Chae-won was causing a ruckus, her voice playful and mocking.
The Disciplinary Committee members on guard grimaced, gritting their teeth as they tried to ignore her antics.
“Pizza, pizza! Special shrimp pizza loaded with cheese! Garlic steak cheese fondue pizza! Basil cheese cube pizza! Gorgonzola pizza!”
Chae-won was listing off every pizza she could think of, testing the patience of the guards on duty.
Buzz.
The door beyond the barrier opened, and a student appeared.
“Huh?”
Chae-won stopped her commotion and looked at the newcomer. Her eyes widened.
It was Oh Baek-seo who had come to see her.
