Chapter 1
Otherworld Cheat Harem.
Episode 1: Descent (1).
The college entrance exam was over.
The school that had suffocated the students now became their final playground of youth.
Graduation day.
The idol trainee, who usually never showed up, came to school for one last time.
Even the delinquent, who was always on the verge of being held back, showed up and turned the class rowdy.
However, I ignored them and laid my head on the desk. I had no energy to laugh or talk after training all night.
Fortunately or unfortunately, none of them paid any attention to me.
Throughout high school, I didn’t even make a proper friend, let alone a girlfriend. I wondered if there was any point in going to college like this. I’d probably end up living as an outcast there, too…
‘Maybe I should just inherit the dojo.’
That thought came to mind briefly, but I immediately banged my head on the desk to erase it.
Who do I have to thank for living like this? Inheriting the dojo would just mean falling for my father’s gaslighting.
‘…I want to have a girlfriend.’
But I had no intention of making any special effort. Like a pet waiting for its owner to feed it, I wished she would just fall into my lap.
It was neither something I believed would come true, nor something I fervently wished for…
It was just a small wish.
Thud!
I clutched my nose as a sharp pain rose up and slowly lifted my head from the desk.
Waking someone up like this? I didn’t know who it was, but I wasn’t going to feel better until I socked them one.
“…What the heck?”
But when I opened my eyes and looked around, I was bewildered.
‘Where am I?’
I wasn’t at school.
Sticky mud and dust clung to my hands.
The sharp smell of blood pierced my nose.
This place was a battlefield.
Realizing this, I tensed up and cautiously surveyed my surroundings. Fortunately, it seemed I wasn’t alone here.
“What the hell?! Where are we?!”
“Ahh, my ankle…”
The kids who had been laughing and chatting while leaning against desks were now sprawled on the ground, some twisting their ankles as they fell.
Only one person seemed to grasp the situation: the otaku, who had been watching anime with earbuds in, shouted,
“Status Window! Ability Window! Status!”
However, despite his confident tone, nothing happened.
Even he hadn’t expected this situation, and he yelled with a bewildered expression.
“Wh-what’s going on? Why isn’t anything showing up?!”
“You crazy otaku, are you kidding right now?”
The delinquent watching him snapped and smacked the back of his head.
I understood. I felt the same urge to hit him.
‘He’s yelling when we don’t even know where we are.’
Whether it was because of Deokgu’s shouting or not, splashing footsteps echoed from all directions. They weren’t loud, but there were far too many to count.
I scanned the surroundings for a weapon. But there wasn’t even a decent rock on the ground, and everyone here was unarmed.
This was dangerous. If I had a wooden stick, I could at least try to run, no matter who the opponent was… but barehanded, it was uncertain.
“Kiik.”
Finally, the owner of the footsteps revealed itself. Short stature and dirty swamp-colored skin. A monster grinning with yellow teeth approached with a dagger.
“G-goblin!”
Deokgu, having guessed its identity upon seeing it, shouted again. I shouted back at him.
“The weak spot!”
“Wh-what?”
“Don’t you know about these things? What’s their weakness?!”
“Uh, they don’t have one…”
“What?”
“Th-they’re just as weak as they look… like children… if that counts as a weakness…”
‘Crazy.’
Their weakness is being as weak as children?
What nonsense. Whether it’s a child or an adult, a blade is still a blade.
One strike could be fatal, and dozens would certainly kill.
But to fight dozens of knife-wielding children barehanded?
‘Is it possible?’
I once asked my father how to defeat an opponent with a sword barehanded.
[Either pick up a weapon yourself… or run]
That was his answer. No matter how much I trained, there was no way I could perfectly subdue an armed opponent.
But that was for one opponent. Here, there were dozens of monsters surrounding us. And judging by the footsteps, the numbers were only increasing.
“Let’s run.”
“Wh-where to?”
“To a place without these monsters.”
The kids listened to me and slowly moved toward a spot without goblins. Turning our backs and running would’ve been foolish.
Predators never leave prey that shows their back alone. These monsters would likely be no different.
“Move slowly, without provoking them.”
Hearing those words, all the kids slowly stepped back. Little by little, inch by inch.
But our escape didn’t last long. It was too dark here, and we didn’t know the way.
Eventually, with my back against the wall, I realized we were screwed.
‘Do we have to fight somehow?’
Just as I was thinking that, one of the delinquents, exhausted from running, glared angrily.
“…Damn, do we have to be scared of these tiny bastards?”
One of the delinquents, whose name I didn’t even remember, said that as he stepped forward.
The other delinquents seemed worried about him, but whether it was because he wanted to show off in front of the girls or because he had some kind of anger management issue, he walked straight toward the knife-wielding goblins.
“Die!”
“Screech!”
Then, with a strong kick, he sent one goblin flying, screaming, into the distance.
“You little shits think you can mess with me?”
“Shriek!”
As he wore a smug grin, the surrounding goblins charged at him all at once.
At first, it seemed like he could handle it, kicking and hitting a few, but as soon as he was cut by one of their knives, his resistance ended.
“Agh!”
The blade wasn’t particularly sharp and was rusted in places, but it was still a weapon.
Modern people couldn’t even endure the pain of a paper cut, so when he was cut by the dagger, he froze.
The consequence of stopping movement while surrounded by multiple goblins was severe. Dozens of daggers slashed him from all sides.
Whether the wounds were fatal or he simply couldn’t handle the pain, he died without even letting out a death cry.
‘How foolish…’
If they had all rushed together, they might have survived. If he had used his padded jacket as a shield to snatch even one dagger, he could have counterattacked.
However, he charged alone, leaving behind only the information that this situation was no joke before dying.
“Th-this has to be a lie, right…?”
“Please save me, please save me…”
The kids fell into a state of panic.
The monsters caught the scent of fear.
“Kikikik.”
It was an obvious sneer. The predator’s mockery directed at prey soon to be hunted.
The goblins slowly approached and closed in from all sides. Now, the only way out of this situation was a miracle.
‘Should I fight, even if it means dying?’
While I was pondering over this, Kang Hanyoung, a delinquent on the verge of being held back, clenched his fist tightly and walked forward.
“You damn monsters…”
I anticipated the same situation as before. He might take down a few goblins in his rage, but he would ultimately meet the same fate as the delinquent earlier.
“Die!”
However, the moment Hanyoung’s fist cut through the air, a spectacular fountain of blood erupted, and the goblins were wiped out in an instant.
A miracle had occurred.
“What is this…?”
Hanyoung, who had just defeated the goblins in one blow, looked down at his arm. His arm looked grotesque, as if a bomb had exploded it.
“Doesn’t it hurt?”
In response to my question, Hanyoung shook his head. It was both a relief and a major concern. Not feeling pain meant that his body had suffered injuries severe enough to potentially lead to shock.
If he sustained an injury that even modern medicine couldn’t easily heal, especially inside an unknown cave like this, the chances of survival were almost nil.
But before that, Deokgu shouted,
“Cheat! It’s a cheat!”
“What?”
“It’s a cheat! It’s the rule and a cliché in situations like this to get incredible power!”
Having shouted that, Deokgu groaned for a long time by himself, and then finally, as if he had realized something, he burst into laughter.
“Ahahaha! Yeah! I knew it! Even I, even for me…”
But moments later, Deokgu straightened his face and stopped laughing. Just as the kids were beginning to feel something was off while watching him, he let out a big sigh and spoke.
“Well… I guess a cheat in intelligence is still a cheat.”
Deokgu extended his finger towards the sky and shouted.
“Follow me, everyone!”
Then he started running at full speed. The kids, though confused, began to follow him as he led the way.
Humans are creatures of herd mentality, so I followed as well. Surprisingly, Deokgu found a way out of this place.
His talk of cheats and whatnot turned out to be true.
We stood stunned, staring at the blinding sunlight and the bustling city beneath it.
‘Where is this place?’
Looking at the architecture, reminiscent of medieval Western Europe, we began murmuring among ourselves.
This was no longer the world we knew.
Having escaped the dark underground cave, we arrived at a fountain in the center of the city and sat on the benches around it to talk.
“So… what’s your ability…?”
Hanyoung, exhausted and bleeding profusely, asked Deokgu. He paused for a long time before he spoke.
“Kkurawiki.”
“What?”
“It’s like the otherworld version of Namuwiki.”
It was an ability fitting for him. Full of trivial knowledge that was of little help in everyday life, yet so essential for us who had fallen into this place.
I asked Deokgu how he realized his ability. Proud of the fact that he discovered his ability, he eagerly explained his secret.
“Hehe, once I became aware that I had an ability, it just popped into my head.”
Upon hearing those words, I immediately began to murmur to myself that I possessed the ability he mentioned.
Just a few days ago, it was unthinkable for me to have such abilities, so it took time to grasp my powers.
Seeing this, it was clear that Deokgu wasn’t an ordinary person either…
‘Let’s see, my ability is…’
And when the ability surfaced in my mind, my expression hardened. I couldn’t believe it.
“Uh, hey! Me!”
At that moment, the Class President, with glasses, raised their hand and shouted,
“Me! I have the ability to heal people!”
“Really?!”
Hearing that, Hanyoung was overjoyed. His injury was visibly severe and was worsening.
The Class President slowly approached him. Despite the gruesome appearance of his arm, the Class President calmly placed their hand on it.
“Alright, it should be fine now.”
As the Class President spoke and withdrew their hand, Hanyoung’s arm, which had been gushing blood, was restored to its original state.
Hanyoung, slightly surprised, repeatedly clenched and unclenched his hand. It was an injury that seemed difficult to heal even with modern medicine, but it was clean without a single scar.
“Amazing, holy shit…”
Just as Hanyoung had gained a cheat ability of super strength, all the kids had acquired remarkable abilities.
Deokgu, having confirmed that Hanyoung’s arm was healed, drew the kids’ attention.
“Everyone figured out their abilities, right?”
“Yeah.”
“Now, let’s decide what we should do.”
“…And why do you get to decide that?”
One of the delinquents grumbled at Deokgu. Originally, he wasn’t the outgoing type, and he was just an errand boy at school, so such a reaction was expected.
However, Deokgu was confident.
“Then do as you please.”
“What?”
“Do you know where we are or what we need to do to survive? Do you know anything? I do. That’s my ability.”
“…This bastard’s really full of himself.”
The delinquent muttered in discontent but didn’t seem to disagree with Deokgu’s point, so he quietly waited for him to continue.
Standing in the position of power, Deokgu began to feel even more confident.
“So, what should we do first?”
“Make money.”
“Exactly, that’s it.”
At my words, Deokgu nodded and explained how we could earn money.
“In this world, there are monsters. Like the goblins we met earlier. And we can make money by hunting those monsters.”
“Then…”
“Yeah. We’re going to hunt monsters. Not everyone, of course, only those who can fight… Dojin, what’s your ability?”
Deokgu asked, directing the question to me. It was a bit flustering, but I couldn’t refuse him in this situation.
In the end, I lied about my ability.
“…Apparently, I’m good with swords.”
“Oh, then you’re definitely in.”
“…Yeah.”
I couldn’t tell the truth.
And for good reason… the ability I awakened was.
The one who dominates all women.
Sexual preferences, erogenous zones, arousal levels, etc.
Various information can be accessed.
Evolves according to the target’s preferences.
※However, activation requires contact with the target’s genitalia.
Because it was something like this.
