Ch.BONUSCompletion Afterword
by fnovelpia
Hello everyone. We’ve finally reached the conclusion.
I said I would finish by the end of January, but it ended up dragging into February. Having such affection for this work made it difficult to stop. But now, I really think it’s time to go.
As I mentioned in my contest review, I’ll be enlisting in the military soon. That’s why I had to wrap up the story in around 150 episodes, even though I could have written more.
I think there are many inadequate parts in the middle and latter sections because I was trying to conclude within a limited timeframe. Some foreshadowing I had laid out and notes I had made for future use ended up becoming MacGuffins. There were also parts I had to write differently from my planned plot. This is purely due to my lack of ability, and I have no excuse. I’m sorry. 😢
There are more behind-the-scenes stories too. Like how I initially conceived this as a pure romance, or how Adora wasn’t in the original heroine plan, and so on.
I especially struggled until right before serialization about whether to go with a single romance or a harem. I thought that featuring just one heroine would be better narratively for a deserted island story. But in the end, I went with a harem.
I do wonder what it would have been like if I had gone with a single romance. But then again, if I had written it that way, perhaps I would have missed the back-and-forth dynamic that comes with a harem.
There were other minor issues, but one way or another, I’ve completed the story. The peculiar feeling that comes with finishing a work is still something I’m not used to. I want to express my gratitude to all readers who stayed until the end, and to everyone who supported and encouraged me.
My next work is undecided. I did mention before that I would write a TS broadcast story, but I’m not sure if that will be my next project. I have started planning some works though. Please consider this just a declaration of intent that “I will write it someday.”
There are many other things I want to write. Especially in the military fantasy genre, which I’m determined to tackle, but I keep ending up writing other works in between.
I’ll be setting aside this pen name until I’m discharged from the military, but that doesn’t mean I’m taking a break from writing. I’ll be conceptualizing ideas during my military service and gradually building up material.
As I write this afterword, it’s already come to this.
Dear readers, it’s time to say goodbye.
Thank you for loving “Escaping a Deserted Island with Enemy Female Soldiers” all this time.
I hope you receive many blessings in the new year of 2026. Until then, I sincerely wish for your happiness, health, and well-being.
If fate allows, I’ll see you again with New Year’s greetings in 2027.
Thank you.
Sincerely,
AiBi
