I started posting the first chapter around this time last year, so I’ve been serializing for about a year total.

Before this, I used to complete stories in just a few months, so honestly, I never expected to write something this lengthy. At the point of finishing the main story, I really only intended to write a few extra chapters… but as I kept writing and completed the aftermath, it ended up becoming this long. Actually, with “From the Beginning,” I truly planned to skip the middle process and just release the ending…

But thinking about it now, I believe spending an entire year writing one novel has been a good experience. A year is quite a long time, so when something you’ve been doing consistently every day disappears, it certainly leaves a void. Perhaps someday, I’ll suddenly miss the characters who appeared in this novel.

I’ll always continue writing steadily, waiting for all of you. I hope everyone has a smooth end to this year. And I wish for blessings to pour down on you next year as well.

I’ve been happy to have readers who stayed with my writing until the end. Because of those who read my work, I was able to write consistently every day. This hobby and dream of being a writer has come true thanks to your existence.

I received your Christmas greeting but I’m two days late responding… I’m truly grateful that you always read my writing. Following a story over a long time and many chapters isn’t easy. It’s something one can only do if they truly enjoy the writing, so I’m deeply thankful that you loved my work that much. Often, when writing, I worry whether readers will find my story interesting or worth reading. Even if I write and read it myself, it’s not easy to judge. So all I can do is give my best effort to create content I find interesting and carry it through to the end.

It still feels like a miracle when readers tell me they enjoy such writing. If there had been no comments and no one reading, I certainly wouldn’t have finished writing. I’m always grateful that you read my writing! I’m glad you enjoyed this story too. What I initially thought would be a simple concept became increasingly complex as I wrote, leaving me perplexed more than once. In fact, I felt that way throughout writing all my stories. Sometimes I would space out thinking about how to make the concept interesting, or delete what I’d written and start over… If the completed work was entertaining for readers, I consider that sufficient. If even one person reads my story to the end and says they enjoyed it, then I can think that writing was worthwhile as an author.
