Ch.BONUSAfterword

*Afterword*
Somehow, this work has come to an end.
To be honest, when my previous work, commonly known as ‘Undead Revenge,’ ended, I wondered if I could ever write a new piece again.
Since it was my first work, I wandered a lot and made many mistakes.
As a result, I deeply realized that it was a work that caused various discomforts, as I heard each sharp criticism one by one.
Even nowadays, I occasionally find angry reactions saying they automatically skip my novels.
Since my previous work received many negative reviews, I wrote this one more carefully, learning from past failures.
I tried to write a story that didn’t go against the genre’s characteristics.
In the end, I believe I managed to maintain the two central themes—’yandere’ and ‘pure love’—without wavering until the end.
Unfortunately, due to my lacking writing skills, the view count didn’t reach that of my previous work, but personally, I cautiously think it became a more complete piece.
The idea for this work, like the previous one, started from my personal pain.
That pain was that, due to my extremely narrow interpersonal relationships, I had no one to lean on after going through various incidents that left me devastated.
Having a drink with friends might help, but it seems wrong to make new friends with the sole purpose of seeking comfort when already struggling.
Besides, everyone is going through difficult times these days.
So the idea I came up with was a story about ‘a bond that can never leave your side,’
which naturally created the yandere genre and this work’s unique situation.
Perhaps the many hardships Ash endured in the story were the price for gaining an unbreakable bond with Sylvia.
If I had written about gaining such a connection without any cost, my own base desires would have been too embarrassingly exposed.
I’m also confused about whether the ending, being so provocative, should be considered happy, but personally, I think it is.
Someone who remains on your side even when the whole world turns against you.
How common is that in today’s world?
In a world with high divorce rates.
This work, “I Can’t Escape from the Girl Who Saved My Life,” has personally brought me many things.
While writing this, I received contact from a Novelpia representative for the first time, bought an air conditioner,
and it became the work through which I started telling my friends that I make a living writing web novels.
It also properly taught me that writing isn’t just enjoyable but difficult.
I hope to meet you with a better next work, not forgetting the lessons learned from writing this one.
*Side Story or Epilogue*
I do have some thoughts.
First, I think we need to hold the “wedding” that Ash mentioned when persuading Sylvia, who was lukewarm about defeating the Demon Lord.
Of course, there won’t be proper guests since Sylvia destroyed all their human relationships at the end, but at least Pia is there to liven things up.
I don’t have any ideas for “if” side stories.
There was a comment wanting to see the hero’s party in a world where the Saint was still alive, but honestly, I haven’t thought about what kind of person the Saint was…
I might write something if a good idea comes up, but nothing has occurred to me yet.
*Next Work*
I plan to present my next work as soon as preparations are complete (probably within June).
The truth is, I need a significant amount of money for various reasons, so I can’t afford to take a leisurely break.
First, my 9-year-old computer died. That’s why my publishing schedule became very unstable toward the end.
My 5-year-old phone is also acting up.
And my 30-year-old body keeps creaking here and there.
So I’ll likely appear with my next work quickly.
However, for an author who has already completed two works, I regret that I still haven’t developed the ability to understand web novel trends or popular themes these days.
I do have a story in mind, but it’s about an “Apocalypse Academy,” an unidentified theme, so I’m a bit worried.
Actually, I’d like to write a cheerful work now, but maybe I’m not a cheerful person because ideas don’t come easily.
If you have any recommended genres, stories you’d like to see, or intriguing themes, please leave them in the comments.
*Closing*
Like the carriage that opened this work, this novel, which was published with many bumps, fortunately concluded without overturning like a carriage.
I am well aware that it was thanks to the readers that this constantly shaking work and I were kept upright.
I offer my deepest gratitude and apologies to everyone who stayed until the end despite the uncomfortable ride, and to those who couldn’t endure the terrible ride and got off.
I will strive to make my next work a stable and enjoyable one that gives you a feeling like a pleasant journey.
Thank you very much for everything.
