    Ch.9Ep.9 Rescue

“But do you have a plan to escape?”

The joy of meeting Radios was short-lived.

Arsia knew her physical condition was abnormal among abnormals.

Having been forbidden from using magic for a long time.

Her magic organs were no different from rusty machinery.

They needed oiling first, so even if she used magic, the efficiency would be very low.

For a prison break, she would be nothing but a burden.

Of course, if Radios had the power of his prime, it wouldn’t be a problem.

However, the magical energy emanating from him was significantly less than in the past.

    Whatever had happened.

It’s possible that Radios had endured pain comparable to hers during these three years.

One burden and a weakened Radios.

I’m not confident whether the prison break will proceed normally.

But Radios had already made a plan.

“It’s about to blow up, so just run when the commotion starts.”

    “What? What’s going to blow—”

    BOOM-BOOM-BOOM-BOOM!!

Before Arsia could finish her question, a series of explosions echoed from the upper floors.

So that’s what he meant by “blow up”?

“Did you release all the prisoners in this prison?”

“As expected, you’re quick to catch on.”

“Then we’ll deal with the guards one by one as they come down here during the commotion, and make our way up.”

Arsia, as if proving her abilities.

Had deduced the cause-and-effect relationship from just one outcome.

    “That’s right.”

“Well… in this situation, that’s probably the only way to successfully escape.”

Outside was full of enemies without a single ally in sight.

Rather than forcing their way through, recruiting temporary allies would be more efficient.

    “Let’s go now.”

When Radios sensed a lot of magical energy coming down to the prison below.

He destroyed the trap with Astrape and began the prison break.

Meanwhile, in the underground prison management room.

“How strange… how could a prison break happen right after that woman left… it’s too suspicious.”

A sudden explosion followed by prisoners escaping.

Serena Tolos had left the prison with a dubious expression.

And this major incident occurred less than 10 minutes later.

    “I guess traitors never change…”

Although the position of Archbishop was one rank above Vice Apostle.

The Vice Apostles from other orders, including Kim Aram, did not acknowledge Serena.

For good reason, as among those Serena Tolos had slaughtered.

Was one of the Outer God’s apostles.

If the Apostle of the Boundary Dweller hadn’t personally protected her.

She would never have risen to the position of Archbishop.

    “What about Arsia Cromwell?”

“Not yet— Ah, the trap has just been deactivated!”

When the trap installed in Arsia’s prison disappeared.

The staff member reported with a pale face.

Kim Aram quietly rose from her seat and ordered her aide.

    “Call for explosives experts.”

“W-what do you mean by that…”

“We’ll bury that bitch alive before she leaves the prison.”

“But, the forces that went inside…”

    “Abandon them all.”

    ***

    “KRAAAA!!”

“Block them! If these bastards go any higher, the prison will collapse!!”

“AAAAH! Why are these imprisoned bastards so energetic?!”

“Healer! Where’s the healer, you idiots!”

The scene that greeted Radios and Arsia as they climbed up one floor.

Was chaos with the order’s army and magical beasts killing each other.

“I didn’t expect it to be this effective.”

    “I agree.”

In truth, they hadn’t imagined the magical beasts would fight this well.

The ones they’d encountered coming down reminded them of frail old men.

Originally, the plan was just to draw attention with the explosion.

But did the magical beasts also recognize this situation as an opportunity?

With no way back, they were fighting for their lives.

“It looks like we can escape more easily than expected. Are you keeping up?”

“Yes. But are you sure they can’t see me?”

“Of course. I can only vaguely locate you by your voice.”

Since Arsia was in no condition to fight.

Radios had put Kynee on her.

As long as she didn’t use magic or speak, she wouldn’t be detected.

‘If they have such divine artifacts yet lost to the Outer Gods…’

It means the Outer Gods have the ability to see through Kynee’s invisibility.

It means we shouldn’t rely too much on Kynee’s abilities.

“Stay close. We’re going to charge up.”

    “Yes!”

With Arsia’s response, Radios revealed his magic without filtering and rushed forward.

The magical beasts and guards all turned their attention to Radios, but.

    “Jade Flame.”

    WHOOSH!

    Before they could react.

They were engulfed in jade flames spreading from Radios’s arm.

Radios passed through them and rushed forward.

    RAT-TAT-TAT!

    He didn’t look back.

The goal wasn’t to kill enemies but to escape.

He had no intention of wasting time.

No matter how abnormal Arsia’s body was.

He didn’t think she couldn’t keep up with this pace.

As proof, when he glanced back, he could see dust moving regularly on the ground.

This meant she was following well behind Radios.

    “Intruder!! Catch him!”

    “Flame Sword.”

    SLASH!

He kept enemies at bay with Jade Flame from a distance and cut down approaching enemies with his sword.

There was no match for Radios as he swept through the underground prison.

Even though it was a prison.

Kadinant had essentially become the world of Outer Gods.

With the Guardian Spirits having ceased their activities.

The level of the soldiers guarding the prison wasn’t that high.

If the enemies had been more skilled, he would have planned more elaborate strategies from the start.

As a result, the rescue operation scenario was a complete success.

All they had to do was keep going up.

But Arsia urgently called out to him.

    “Boss! Red color!!”

“What? Hey, why are you using skills in your condition?!”

“That’s not the issue! We need to go back down quickly!”

Just a bit further up and they would escape.

But Arsia had used a skill, signaling danger if they went up.

At that moment, Radios sensed several foreign objects falling into the underground prison.

    “Damn it..! Bombs! Run!!”

Hearing the regular beeping sounds, he recognized them as time bombs.

    Radios immediately threw himself downward.

    BOOM!!

The simultaneous explosion of bombs began to collapse the underground prison.

    Stalactites falling every second.

Seeing Arsia, who had removed her helmet.

Radios first put her over his shoulder and frantically crossed his legs.

“Are you sure going down will save us? Won’t it make things worse?”

“You know the power of my skills and you’re still doubting me! Besides… do you think my prison is an ordinary one?”

It seemed like an ordinary prison to me.

Deactivate the trap, cut the iron bars with a sword, and the rescue was successful.

Arsia thought about that moment briefly and then shut her mouth.

    RUMBLE!

    “Can’t you go any faster?”

“You’re being carried and still complaining?”

“We’re going to be crushed to death!!”

    “Sigh.”

Right. Arsia was always like this.

After being separated for three years, there was no emotional reunion.

    Bickering was their daily routine.

    CREAK!!

The problem was that while they were arguing, the prison was collapsing at an accelerating rate.

“It’s collapsing! You came to rescue me but you’re going to bury me alive?!”

“Just be quiet for a moment! Can’t you see I’m moving?”

“How can I see where we’re going when you’ve got me slung over your shoulder and all I can see is the floor—”

    BANG!

Deciding this wouldn’t work, Radios used his Fire Dance skill to accelerate.

Specifically, he created tiny explosions under his feet to increase his speed.

‘The problem is this might cause everything to collapse… but we’ve arrived.’

Fortunately, even if the outside collapsed.

They successfully returned to the completely intact lowest level of the underground prison.

    CRASH!

    “Phew, that was intense.”

Not long after, all passages except the lowest level of the prison were buried under rocks.

    They were completely isolated.

“What are you planning to do now? We came down here as you said.”

“My prison is made of Taemuseok. Thanks to that, it’s perfectly intact even though the cave collapsed.”

“Is that so? Then… we won’t be able to use teleportation magic or any space-related magic here.”

    Taemuseok.

A mineral born long ago through unknown means.

A mineral of unknown origin, boasting the highest hardness among all existing minerals.

And a very rare mineral that can be mined in only a few places.

To think they used it to build Arsia’s prison.

“Well, I’m not an ordinary person. I’m the woman once called the Best Guardian.”

“Enough of that. Now, how do we get out?”

Radios cut off her nonsense sharply.

As if he had no intention of listening to her rambling.

Arsia clenched her fist for a moment and practiced patience while looking at Radios’s face after their long separation.

“Sigh… Do you know what the biggest flaw in this prison is?”

    “What is it?”

Radios immediately asked in response to her question.

But seeing her evil expression, he felt a momentary sense of foreboding.

    Sure enough.

“That this is a volcanic area.”

    Arsia dropped a bombshell statement.

    “…You don’t mean?”

After hearing her words, Radios widened his eyes in shock.

    Isn’t her intention too obvious!

Whether she knew what he was thinking or not.

Arsia had no intention of changing her mind.

“Give me some magic power. Unless you want to burn to death in lava.”

With those words, she used all her strength to create a giant awl.

    CRASH!

Without warning, she drilled a huge hole in the floor.

Arsia’s immense power that penetrated even the Taemuseok!

    …Not really!

“Are you crazy? You’re causing a volcanic eruption? And you’re using magic well?”

“Then give me a realistic alternative. This path is green, I’m telling you! And give me some magic power. I’m already drained.”

    “…”

As Arsia pointed to her eyes again to explain.

Radios reluctantly decided to go along with her.

Not long after he sent her magic power.

    BOOM!!

A volcanic eruption powerful enough to shake heaven and earth occurred.
