Ch.96Legend (2)

Everyone expressed confusion about the sudden update to TowerInside.
After the initial creation of MagicPad and TowerInside and a few early updates, there had never been another update. Hundreds of years had passed, so naturally, later generations of mages couldn’t possibly imagine that TowerInside even had an update function.
In fact, even Eterna had paid little attention to TowerInside and had forgotten that updates existed at all.
So when an update suddenly appeared without warning, those who originally knew updates existed couldn’t help but wonder.
[What’s an update?]
Some didn’t know what updates were.
[???]
Others simply couldn’t understand the current situation.
[Based on the word ‘update,’ it seems like something is being uploaded.]
And some were making guesses about what updates might be.
Regardless, time passed.
After the notice appeared on TowerInside, when the announced 10 minutes had elapsed:
[Beginning update.]
All users connected to TowerInside were briefly disconnected.
Eventually, after something downloaded and they reconnected:
[What is this?]
[Nothing seems different.]
[What was the update for?!]
Surprisingly, nothing had changed at all.
TowerInside had just gone offline briefly, that’s all.
[No! I lost the post I was writing! Argh!!!!!]
[Hahahahahahahahaha]
[Is this proper management? Blood Tower trash…]
[Wasn’t this the Blood Tower Master’s doing? The current top administrator is the Blood Tower Master, right?]
Most people thought the Blood Tower Master was behind this update.
Until recently, Eterna had naturally been TowerInside’s top administrator, so if an update like this happened, people would have assumed Lady Eterna was doing something and accepted it. But now things were different.
Unlike Eterna, Midir’s public opinion wasn’t entirely positive yet, so when something like this happened, she was bound to receive suspicious glances from others.
Especially now, when public opinion was particularly negative among certain groups after the recent duel.
Surprisingly, overall public opinion was split evenly, but if Blood Mages in the Blood Tower forum fanatically praised Midir, there would naturally be those who took the opposite stance.
Those who disliked Midir for defeating Eterna.
Of course, Midir had won fair and square, but to those who lived for Eterna, it came across differently.
They didn’t care what Eterna herself said.
They simply couldn’t accept that Eterna had been defeated by some unknown Tower Master they’d never heard of before.
Usually, troublemakers could be banned, preventing them from entering the Blood Tower forum for a while, which was sufficient. But now it was different.
Too many people were coming in and causing trouble.
TowerInside’s functions weren’t good enough to ban them one by one.
It was absolutely impossible to block all of them by banning them individually.
There’s a saying that even a thousand men can be intimidated if you guard a narrow path.
But that only applies when guarding a narrow path.
The TowerInside forum was like a completely open field.
How long would it take to shoot down a thousand people one by one with a bow in such a place?
It was nonsense.
But with this new update, they began to grow increasingly anxious.
The timing was too perfect.
[Are we in big trouble…?]
[Why update right now? This seems suspicious]
[So what exactly is this update?]
The fact that the update happened precisely when they had taken over the Blood Tower forum.
And the fact that the content of the update wasn’t specified made them even more anxious.
Eventually…
“Huh…?”
Their anxiety became reality.
Redlton, an average Red Tower mage, stared blankly at the warning message that appeared before him.
He had been banned.
Up to this point, he wasn’t too concerned.
If he got banned, he could just log in with another character and repeat the same actions, so he didn’t take it very seriously.
That’s how he would have acted normally.
But now things were different.
Something had changed.
‘What is this…?’
He saw a new term: “user ban.”
And just in case someone didn’t understand what it meant, it was kindly explained:
[User ban is a feature that recognizes your magical pattern and bans you.]
In other words, no matter which MagicPad you use, you cannot access the system.
It literally meant recognizing and banning the user directly.
Seeing this, Redlton felt cold sweat all over his body.
He realized what this meant.
‘N-no way…!’
He hurriedly tried to log in using another MagicPad, but what was written there was no lie.
[Access denied. (Reason: Ban) Duration: 30 days]
He was banned and could no longer access the system.
And that wasn’t all.
This time they had really sharpened their knives—the ban duration was 30 days.
He couldn’t use his MagicPad for almost a month.
‘N-no…!’
Redlton collapsed on the spot, struck by the shock that ran through his entire body.
Being unable to use his MagicPad for a month was a tremendous shock to him.
For all mages, using MagicPads was completely natural… it was practically their daily life.
So it was only natural that Redlton’s reaction was dramatic when that was taken away from him.
With trembling hands, Redlton tried to reconnect to his MagicPad, but each time he received the message that it was impossible.
Impossible.
Impossible.
Impossible.
As he kept seeing the message appear, tears began to form in Redlton’s eyes.
He regretted it.
If he had known this would happen, he should never have stirred up trouble in the first place.
Caught up in the atmosphere, believing the Blood Tower Master must have done something wrong, his actions had come back to him with irreversible consequences.
“I’m… sorry…”
Redlton bowed toward his MagicPad and kept apologizing.
Even though he knew apologizing wouldn’t help, he couldn’t stop.
He felt like his heart would break if he didn’t apologize now.
But no matter how much he apologized, no one was listening.
Even if someone did hear, they wouldn’t restore the account of someone who had been causing so much trouble.
And that wasn’t all.
“What… I’m completely blocked…?”
[Your PA (Pad Address) has been blocked.]
IP ban.
Commonly known as… “total blocking.”
An indescribable violence began to strike the troublemakers.
[What’s happening?]
[The numbers are decreasing?]
[What is this?]
At that moment, the Blood Tower forum gradually began to lose people.
The power of the total blocking was strong.
By blocking specific MagicPad addresses, innocent Blood Mages might have been blocked too… but Midir wasn’t stupid.
She checked the addresses of Blood Mages against the troublemakers’ address prefixes, user-banned only those with overlapping addresses, and totally blocked the rest—a crazy move that effectively eliminated all the troublemakers targeting the forum.
In less than an hour, all troublemakers were eradicated.
The posts they had made were automatically deleted when they were banned.
This was one of the features updated this time.
“Wow…”
The Blood Mages trembled as they looked at the suddenly clean forum.
This was the master of the Blood Tower where they belonged.
Only Midir could have done something like this.
[Is Midir a goddess? Is Midir a goddess? Is Midir a goddess? Is Midir a goddess? Is Midir a goddess? Is Midir a goddess? Is Midir a goddess?]
[I think I understand why Lady Eterna lost to Lady Midir, like if you agree hahahahaha]
[Wow, if Midir updated this to normalize the Blood Tower…]
[The administrators are completely useless hahaha only Midir can do this haha]
[Blood Mages Must Read) How to get revenge.txt]
The Blood Mages went wild.
Midir had personally asked Eterna for help to save them, and then achieved what everyone thought impossible—normalizing the forum.
Everyone trembled at the sight of Midir, who seemed like she had stepped out of mythology.
She was truly legendary.
Midir was a legend.
At least to the Blood Mages.
