Ch.95[Chapter 95] License

For a moment, Star I’m Not Little.

“This time it’s Sir Dominic’s main party! Wow!”

-Seriously, don’t you ever get tired of this?

    -Season 877 Sir Dominic and Sir Dominica main party;;

Star I’m Not Little launched the roguelike tower climbing game “Riding on Top” that came out a month ago.

Star I’m Not Little, who loved roguelike games to an excessive degree, was currently creating content where she took out games she had played before and ran them with Sir Dominic and Sir Dominica’s cards.

    -Boss, looks like we’ll be seeing nothing but Sir Dominic and Sir Dominica for the next year;;

Even her editor was expressing reluctance at the situation, but I’m Not Little resolutely launched the game and inserted Sir Dominic and Sir Dominica’s cards.

“As expected, having strong tanks makes the game easier. But the disappointing part is that Sir Dominic and Sir Dominica aren’t 3-tier yet, so their late-game performance is questionable, and I can’t make a full Sir Dominic party with the four-person party limit?”

Cards can be enhanced with identical cards. However, since the tier of Sir Dominic’s main body was still low, it wasn’t necessary yet in the current situation where he couldn’t be raised above 2-tier.

Additionally, duplicate characters couldn’t be placed in the same party.

Some games allowed duplicates, but the central system restricted duplicates in a single party to prevent flooding formations with overpowered cards.

-You could class change, but would Sir Dominic ever class change? lol

-Who knows. He’s still 2-tier. There are many higher tank classes, so if he does one for each class…

    -Ah.

“That’s right. Starting from 3-tier, there’s a directional assessment, right? The pioneers’ power is truly amazing. They completely abolished the single job path that the Executive branch had implemented to accommodate new players.”

    -Ban political talk;;

    -Moderator! Kick the moderator!

Indeed. There was always a way to include characters with the same name in the same formation.

The magic word that theoretically made bizarre plays like a 4-Sir Dominic party possible: class change.

I’m Not Little was bubbling with excitement.

Sir Dominic and Sir Dominica at the front line. And Sir Dominic and Sir Dominica supporting from behind.

The Feralant synergy would activate, and since Sir Dominic and Sir Dominica had excellent base stats, it would be a deck that even beginners could easily use.

Of course, only for those who managed to pull them.

“Alright! Let’s start again! Today’s game, Riding on Top! Let’s begin!”

Star I’m Not Little tried to stop her happiness circuit and proceed with the broadcast.

But her happiness circuit was still burning.

Back to the license testing center.

The employee’s ferry arrived at the shore on the opposite side.

Sir Dominic wasn’t certain this was actually the opposite shore, but he decided to think of it that way.

“Here we are. This is the testing site.”

The three ducks connected to the ferry headed toward the shore.

As the ducks climbed up, the ferry gradually approached the land until it completely emerged onto the shore.

“From here, replicas of your vehicles will appear. The test will be conducted in two parts, with the spider tank and the airship. You can decide which one to start with.”

“I’d prefer to start with the spider tank.”

Sir Dominic answered the employee’s question and then absentmindedly leaned against the ferry, staring at its underside.

The hover-system equipped ferry was floating above the ground.

Alice, finding this situation fascinating, kept exclaiming in wonder beside Sir Dominic.

    “Amazing. How is it floating?”

    Sir Dominic nodded.

“Nothing in Gachaland is without value. It just hasn’t been discovered yet. This ferry may seem slow and useless, but being amphibious, it gives me at least a B rating for land aptitude despite being from the navy.”

Aptitude, huh. As he felt every time, Gachaland was truly a place with much to learn.

“Here we are. The practice area.”

The hover ferry pulled by ducks stopped in front of a magnificent track with winding paths, high hills, mountains, rivers, and seas all mixed together.

“Are we not taking the test right away?”

    Sir Dominic asked.

“What use is asking a child who can’t even walk to perform a sword dance? Everything has its order.”

The employee pulled the strings connected to the ducks, stopping the ferry.

The ferry moved a bit further while hovering above the ground, then parked in place.

“Now get off and practice as much as you want. In case you’re wondering if you didn’t bring your vehicle, this is a vehicle summoning area, so you can call your desired vehicle and it will be summoned immediately.”

“In the past, people practiced with similar vehicles, but getting used to your own vehicle is best,” the employee said.

It seemed many people, like Sir Dominic, left their vehicles in storage and didn’t bring them, as the employee spoke as if stating the obvious.

Sir Dominic nodded at the employee’s words.

He realized why he couldn’t see any practice vehicles around despite the track and terrain.

    “Hurry and summon it!”

Alice, the Seed taller than Sir Dominic, couldn’t contain herself any longer and urged him.

Sir Dominic nodded and softly called out the name of his vehicle.

Then, with a reconstruction effect, a steampunk-style spider tank appeared before Sir Dominic’s eyes.

Sir Dominic looked at both the Seed and the employee.

The Seed’s eyes were full of expectation to ride it immediately, while the employee pointed at the spider tank, suggesting he take it for a test drive.

Without a moment’s hesitation, Sir Dominic boarded the spider tank.

“Wow! The view from here is definitely the best!”

Alice, sitting in the back seat of Sir Dominic’s vehicle, couldn’t hide her excitement and bounced around.

“Wait! The vehicle is for one person only. Two people can’t ride it!”

“Ah, it’s fine. That child is my equipment… uh.”

Sir Dominic realized something was a bit odd as he spoke, but having no other way to explain, he made a sour face.

    “Oh. Then it’s fine.”

However, the employee seemed to understand perfectly and nodded in acceptance while taking a step back.

“Actually, this might be better. I was worried because the applicant seemed to see nothing but swords, but if you’re hiding something like this, that’s different.”

    “Why is that?”

    Sir Dominic asked curiously.

Whether the concern was about him using a sword while riding the spider tank, or why having the Seed ride along was a better choice.

“Well, these large vehicles are typically designed for two or three people.”

“Haven’t you played strategy simulation games? Oh right, you’re a knight,” the employee joked before continuing.

“The minimum operating personnel and passenger limit is one, but usually with these vehicles, the more passengers, the better the effect.”

    “I see.”

    Sir Dominic nodded.

It’s like how it’s difficult for a knight to move a siege tower alone, but easy when two or three knights push together.

It was a somewhat different analogy, but Sir Dominic could understand why having the Seed ride along was better.

The spider tank was quite tall.

It was basically twice Sir Dominic’s height, but considering its legs were still folded, it would likely be about 5 meters tall when fully operational.

The spider tank, quite large for a land vehicle, looked almost like a ship sailing on land to fulfill some romantic notion, and when steam began to spout from six brass pipes, it looked even more like a steamship.

[This vehicle requires a Type 1 Large Steam Engine license. Please obtain a driver’s license first.]

[Correction. Currently in license testing. Temporary license granted. This can only be used at this time and in this space, and the temporary license will disappear if any of these conditions are removed.]

When Sir Dominic started the engine, warning messages appeared as before, but due to the special nature of the practice area, temporary measures were taken to allow him to drive.

Sir Dominic felt a strange satisfaction that made him happy.

    “Wow! It’s moving!”

Alice stood up from behind the control deck of the ship-like spider tank and looked down from the edge.

With a vibration, the six brass exhaust pipes made a squeaking sound as steam escaped during startup, then changed to a stable flow with a hissing sound.

[Would you like to run the vehicle tutorial? [Y/N]]

Sir Dominic pressed Y. Not only did he need instructions due to his lack of experience with vehicles, but his curiosity wouldn’t allow him to skip the tutorial.

[This tutorial consists of five stages: [Operation], [Advanced Operation], [Durability], [Special Abilities], [Recommendations]. Some may be automatically skipped.]

[First, we will run the [Operation] tutorial.]

[The engine is running. Move the control lever to move the spider tank.]

Sir Dominic followed the tutorial’s instructions and moved the control lever.

The spider tank’s eight legs began to move without overlapping each other, advancing forward.

    “My goodness…”

    Alice let out an exclamation.

Though it was a bit bumpy, considering the crude joints of the spider tank, the ride was quite smooth.

The 5-meter-tall giant spider-shaped tank moved toward the track, and the air resistance made their hair and feathers flutter.

“So this is how knights who rode horses felt.”

Sir Dominic was intoxicated by this strange satisfaction.

While grumbling that they had kept this good feeling to themselves.
