Lee Jinseok, who came from the same orphanage as Bong Jinwoo.

    Despite his initially indifferent tone.

    ‘Whew, thank goodness!’

As soon as intermission began, he rushed to the bathroom and returned faster than anyone else.

The break was supposed to be about 20 minutes.

He was worried that if there was a line, he might be late for the performance.

    Rustle, rustle.

    Inside the bustling theater.

There were sounds of movement behind the curtain covering the stage.

Perhaps they were setting up the stage?

He was excited to see what kind of performance would unfold.

And he vaguely understood the difference between the king and the baobab tree, the volcano and the conceited man.

After all this was over, he would explain it to the kids if they didn’t understand.

Lee Jinseok’s vision, filled with excitement, darkens once again.

The next act was about to begin after confirming all the children were seated.

    Slowly the curtain opens.

The first thing that comes into view.

A background reminiscent of a desert and.

“I wonder if I’m going to collapse.”

    A pilot wearing worn-out clothes.

    +++++

The pilot quietly gazed at the swirling sand in the wind.

There was nothing else he could do.

With no strength left in his body,

all he could do was lean against his half-wrecked airplane.

With food and water completely gone, he truly had no strength left.

“If I had known I would die like this, if I had known this would happen, I would have done better back then.”

    Regretful memories surface.

“Why couldn’t I apologize then? I didn’t have to speak that way.”

Despite being able to speak more tactfully and kindly,

he regretted his harsh words spoken out of familiarity and comfort.

“If only someone would give me one more chance…”

But such fortunate things don’t exist.

Everything has an end, and most of those endings aren’t for us to decide.

So the pilot slowly closes his eyes.

No, he was about to close them.

    “Why are you lying down?”

His eyes opened involuntarily at the innocent question.

The pilot immediately responded to his basic needs.

“Water, please water… if you have any water…”

    “Why do you need water?”

Though his voice was raspy from his parched throat, the pilot didn’t stop answering.

It seemed wasteful to even ask why.

Ready to fulfill whatever the other person wanted,

    the pilot reached out desperately.

    “I, I haven’t had anything to drink or eat… for three days… please, water…”

“What can you give me if I give you water?”

    He couldn’t answer that question.

He no longer had the strength to speak.

Seeing this, the little prince poured water over the pilot’s head.

    Splash, splash, splash.

    After pouring for some time,

life returned to the pilot’s cracked face.

    Cough, cough.

The sound of coughing, more lively than before now that he was rehydrated.

“…I should do anything my lifesaver wants.”

As soon as the pilot regained his senses, he immediately promised to repay the favor.

“You live on such a beautiful planet, so why do you have such regrets?”

The little prince asked the question he had been holding back.

“Regrets? What regrets are you talking about?”

“You said it earlier, about doing better back then. Isn’t that regret?”

    “Yes, that’s right. That’s regret.”

    “I’m curious about the reason.”

    “Is that all?”

    “Pardon?”

“…Is that all you want in return for the water?”

    “Yes, that’s right.”

The pilot looked up at the little prince with a puzzled expression.

Come to think of it, his attire wasn’t suitable for the middle of a desert.

    His appearance and clothing,

he truly looked like someone from another planet.

    ‘Is this a dream?’

The pilot lightly slapped his cheeks.

    It couldn’t be a dream.

“When I was young, I received a lot of love, more than I deserved. But I took it for granted.”

Actually, it didn’t matter if it was a dream.

The fact that he had received kindness and needed to repay it remained unchanged.

So the pilot began his story.

“So I just left home. I thought I was that kind of person everywhere, that everyone would be kind to me.”

    “But they weren’t?”

“No, they weren’t. Just look at me now. I was collapsed alone in this desolate desert.”

The pilot thought this might be his final moment.

So he laid out his long life story.

From his childhood to becoming an adult and a pilot.

Each moment of this story was portrayed on stage through the performances of supporting actors.

And each time, the pilot mentioned the moments he regretted.

“Then why did you speak that way back then?”

The little prince deliberately probed into those uncomfortable parts.

For example, when the pilot said he regretted doing nothing but watching when his girlfriend burst into tears during an argument,

the little prince asked why he left her crying.

“At that time, I thought it was the right thing to do. If I could turn back time, I wouldn’t have said that.”

“Listening to you makes me think of things I left behind.”

    “Things you left behind?”

    “But I don’t know why.”

The pilot shrugged at the little prince’s words.

    “You’re regretting something too.”

“Regret? Me? What am I regretting?”

“Well, you’ll have to figure that out yourself. But I’m sorry, is there anything to eat?”

“Yes. I have some fruit that suits my taste, but I’m not sure if others would like it.”

    “Water, food, a knife—you’re very well-prepared.”

“I suppose so. I found them when I was leaving.”

“Someone must have packed them for you, people who care about you greatly.”

    “…”

Hearing those words, the little prince felt something stirring inside him.

    What could it be?

The little prince handed food to the pilot and quickly left the place.

For some reason, he suddenly wanted to leave this strange blue planet.

But he didn’t leave right away.

The little prince departed one last time,

to see the greatness of this blue planet, to a place where countless roses bloomed.

With Jang Geonho’s narration continuing, the scene gradually changes.

Amid the shower of magnificent roses, the pilot had disappeared.

In his place were a fox and numerous roses with hidden faces.

The fox immediately began threatening the little prince upon seeing him.

This was because the fox had many cubs nearby.

“Stay away! Come closer and I’ll bite you!”

The little prince instinctively drew his knife at the fox’s threatening words.

The knife with a volcano drawing on it pointed straight at the fox.

“Why are you so angry? I haven’t done anything yet.”

“If I wait until you do something, it’ll be too late! I’m warning you in advance!”

Hearing those words, the little prince suddenly understood why the volcano was angry.

And he also realized that the food in his possession was thanks to the baobab tree.

At the same time, he heard the chatter of countless roses.

“Look here, look at me, am I not the most beautiful?”

“No, look at me. Come quickly and take care of me, don’t let me be lonely.”

They were saying exactly the same things as the rose on his planet.

But there was a definite difference.

“…None of you are beautiful at all.”

Why did the rose on his planet seem so beautiful?

Why did he leave that beauty behind and come so far?

Belatedly, the little prince clearly understood what he was regretting,

what the pilot meant when he said time couldn’t be turned back.

“Why don’t we realize the value of precious things when they’re close to us?”

The difference between the king and the baobab tree was clear.

The king cared only for himself, while the baobab tree had to grow vigorously for the little prince.

The difference between the conceited man and the volcano was also clear.

The conceited man’s anger was for himself, but the volcano’s anger was to protect the little prince.

Just like the fox was angry to protect its cubs.

It had to always be on edge to avoid the worst situations.

    “I need to go.”

The little prince said this while looking up at the sky.

A tiny star and a brightly shining moon when seen from Earth.

He realized his story was on that small star.

A world he thought was small but was high, distant, and filled only with precious things.

The story of his star and moon,

which he could only understand by being far away from what was precious.

The little prince suddenly missed everyone on his planet.

The little prince put away his knife and slowly passed by the fox.

Past the fox, through the rose garden.

Because he had realized what was important.

And so, in the blink of an eye, the little prince returned to his planet.

With each step the little prince takes, the stage rotates, instantly changing the background and structure.

To the place he first saw.

To the place with the baobab tree, the constantly angry volcano, and the rose.

“Look! It’s the little prince! You’re back! How was your journey? Was it fun?”

Despite his harsh words, the baobab tree still cared for him.

“Are you hurt? Are you hurt anywhere? When you leave so suddenly, I worry! Tell me if you’re hurt first!”

The volcano expressed anger out of concern for his well-being.

    And.

“You’re back, thank you for returning. I was worried about what I’d do if I couldn’t see you again.”

Despite his irritating words, the rose was still there looking at him.

Even though he spoke so coldly, you still treat me warmly.

The little prince embraced the rose tightly with a warm expression.

Holding back the tears welling up,

yet letting the tears that escaped flow freely.

“Rose, my beloved, my only rose.”

No matter what she said, it wasn’t annoying,

the most beautiful rose that came to mind among countless roses.

The little prince hugged her tightly and slowly apologized.

“I’m sorry… I’m really sorry for being so harsh to all of you.”

Hearing those words, the baobab tree and the volcano slowly approached the little prince and embraced him tightly.

So tight it was hard to breathe,

pulling him close by the nape and waist,

With the rose in his arms, the little prince stayed that way for a long time.

Though they had nothing in common to anyone looking,

they were a family united by heart.

As the narration ends, the stage lights slowly dim.

As the stage sinks into darkness, the curtain slowly comes down.

    And simultaneously.

    Clap, clap, clap, clap, clap!

    Applause erupts immediately.

Shortly after comes the curtain call.

The actors were surprised when they stood at the front of the stage with bright smiles.

The children’s eyes in the now-lit theater were red,

as if they might burst into tears at any moment, and yet.

    “…They’re smiling brightly.”

Because they were applauding with clear smiles.

    “This is just the beginning.”

    “Huh?”

“Now that we’ve successfully completed our first performance, the real thing starts now.”

As soon as he heard Kim Donghu’s words, Bong Jinwoo snapped to attention.

‘Come to think of it, that’s right.’

Somehow he had followed along for the curtain call.

But thinking about it, they hadn’t performed for the general public yet.

‘If it works this well with children, how will it resonate with adults?’

With that curiosity, the first performance of “Story of the Moon and the Stars” successfully concluded.
