Ch.9292. Preparing to Go Out
by fnovelpia
Now, organizing what to take out had become a task in itself.
“Oppa. You said the belt has 10 slots, right? We need to expand it.”
An E-grade belt provides 130 x 10 slots.
Even so, with so many things to take out, it felt somewhat insufficient.
“Do we have the materials?”
I had already gathered all the leather needed to upgrade the E-grade belt, thanks to the ogres.
The problem was the cut leather.
“Why do we have this?”
It was a material that required a sewing machine, so I couldn’t make it last time, but there was quite a lot of cut leather stored somewhere in the warehouse.
“Oh? This? It was in the legendary box.”
“Ah!”
It seemed to have been included among the various miscellaneous items inside the 50-slot legendary grade box.
Thanks to that, I could immediately upgrade to a D-grade belt.
There was even enough material to further upgrade to a C-grade belt right away.
“This is awesome!”
With belts, higher grades are always better.
Somehow, materials that should only appear in level 2-3 biomes were in the legendary box, allowing me to scrape together enough to upgrade the belt.
It seems like the chaos energy isn’t actually a bad force after all.
Do we really need to purify it?
I think I understand why villains in movies side with threats to Earth for their own benefit, hindering the protagonist instead of dealing with the threat.
If the rewards for handling chaos energy weren’t so great, I might have been looking for ways to actually nurture the chaos energy while thinking, “Is this really necessary?”
Well, right now, having chaos energy means increased difficulty along with increased rewards, so it’s actually beneficial.
At least for now, it’s helping me.
[All-Purpose Farming Belt]
– Grade: C
– An all-purpose belt made for farming. Reinforced with sturdy leather, it seems capable of storing more and various items.
– Created with dimensions of 300 x 35.
– Weight of stored items is reduced by 100%.
– Decay rate of stored items is reduced by 50%.
– Can store large items.
“This is enough.”
No matter how much we need to take out, 35 slots is more than sufficient.
If a mere C-grade is this spacious, I wonder how vast B-grade, A-grade, and S-grade belts are? But I had many questions about why gems were needed for B-grade belts, so I decided to leave it to my imagination.
While I managed to reach C-grade with random items I picked up, it seemed like I’d need to visit level 4 biomes for B-grade materials.
I made a list of things to take out this time.
Actually, Kim Soo-jung made it, not me.
– Balmosugwa
– 200 sheets of A- to A-grade Black Monkey leather
– Ogre blood
– Ogre meat
– A+ to S- Ogre leather
– Ogre bones
– Sound-absorbing stones
The Ring of Mighty Strength (B+) and Mana Stone (S-), along with gems from the legendary box, were set aside for Kukum to craft separately.
This was already quite a lot, and the list didn’t even include the small crops that Kim Soo-jung had harvested.
“Oppa. Don’t we need to set up a company for this?”
Farming Company is a kind of paper company.
It’s just an agency without any special formalities.
Since its main job is to manage me, it’s naturally not easy to broker and sell resources.
I hadn’t given it much thought since I was planning to sell through Gwangjin Distribution anyway.
“I wonder if Dad’s company can handle all of this.”
Payment delays aren’t our concern.
It’s up to Dad’s company to establish business connections if they have trouble processing the various resources we supply.
Especially with the sound-absorbing stones, sales shouldn’t be too difficult.
Even if they don’t sell the stones directly, selling the exclusive rights to contract for them is common practice.
“Dad will be thrilled.”
With new resources flowing in every time we return from a dungeon, what better news could there be for a distribution company?
Rather than dealing with the hassle of negotiating prices with strangers and worrying about underhanded tactics, I prefer to entrust everything to Dad and receive a fair price.
Besides, while Dad’s company is making good profits from distribution now, as the scale of resources I bring back grows, we can gradually shift to where his company just takes a reasonable fee for distribution.
Kim Soo-jung neatly organized everything while looking at the list.
“When we go out this time, we should buy some item storage containers. A lot of them.”
While she was meticulously organizing what to bring back, I took out the remaining rewards from the Corrupted Forest that I hadn’t opened yet.
S- grade random weapon box.
I received it after completing the quest, but I had stuffed it away and forgotten about it because there was so much.
Actually, since S- grade is higher than the Sewer Sword, it should be exciting, but the word “random” in the farming world doesn’t usually carry positive connotations.
So many different types of abilities.
So many different types of weapons to match them.
The probability of getting the kind of weapon I want is extremely low.
Of course, in my case, the probability is slightly higher than for other weapons.
At least I can use anything classified as a [melee weapon].
But even among those, there are weapons that suit my preferences, and honestly, I thought it wouldn’t be easy to replace the Sewer Sword. Even if I am the “lucky one” who drew Mythic grade NPCs twice in the Rift Dimension.
When I opened the S- grade random weapon box, light poured out.
Since there are no grades like mythic or legendary here, I waited for the light to disappear to see the shape of the weapon.
After the light faded.
The weapon sitting in the one-slot inventory of the box was quite large.
[Greatsword of Madness]
– Grade: S-
– A greatsword that has gone mad after being soaked by a blood-crazed swordsman. Those with weak willpower may not be able to resist the blood urge.
– Made with lava stone that can withstand even hellfire, making it extremely durable.
– Attack Power +50
– Attack Power +10 when Strength/Health is S- or higher
– Damage Received -15%
– Strength +1 grade when defeating 20 or more enemies (Duration: 30 minutes)
I took it out and held it.
Since my strength is S+, it wasn’t heavy to hold with one hand, but the long, thick blade was too weighty to wield like a one-handed sword.
A plain black sword with a subtle red glow, as if blood had truly seeped into it.
Whoosh-
When I swung it lightly, it cut through the air with a substantial sound.
The item options weren’t bad either.
No, that’s not right. They were good.
“Where the hell did an attack power of 60 come from?”
My Sewer Sword currently has an attack power of +26.
I thought +26 was quite high for an A- grade, but S- grade with +50, plus the item option bringing it to +60, is truly an absurd figure.
Even considering that greatswords have higher base attack power.
“I should use this myself.”
When I first saw it was a greatsword, I thought:
Wow, this could sell for an insane price.
Even in games, there’s a saying that greatswords are always the “romantic old man’s pick,” meaning many users have a romantic attachment to greatswords.
Would reality be any different?
You need the ability to use a weapon, but among hunters who can use melee weapons, quite a few choose greatswords.
And somehow, as if selecting only such people, many hunters with thick wallets, just like in games, were drawn to them.
If rumors spread about an S- grade greatsword appearing, it would probably trigger an auction as impressive as the one for the gray wolf leather jacket.
But how could I sell it when all the options seem perfectly tailored for me?
I hadn’t expected much because the probability of getting something similar to or better than the Sewer Sword wasn’t very high, but if asked to choose between an A- sword and an S- sword, I would naturally choose the S- grade.
Moreover, the options are better.
Especially for me, who has skills like [Leap Slash] and [Double Slash] that perfectly compensate for the greatsword’s weaknesses, the heaviness and weightiness that would normally be disadvantages in terms of speed are no longer drawbacks.
In a way, the greatsword might suit me even better than a regular sword.
However, it was also awkward to discard the Sewer Sword.
The advantage of the Sewer Sword was that it had two mana-related options, making [Leap Slash] over 20% more efficient.
There was no need to agonize over which to use.
The Sewer Sword would be relegated to the second slot, to be used when [Leap] was the goal.
The Greatsword of Madness would go in the first slot for combat.
While the skill effect and mana consumption might increase slightly, the basic attack power is more than doubled, so the damage would definitely be stronger with the Greatsword of Madness.
And when mana issues are completely resolved, I can dispose of the Sewer Sword then.
Whoosh- Whoosh-
I liked how it fit comfortably in my hand.
But it was quite large to just carry around, so I put it in my slot.
One-handed swords were still more convenient after all.
