Chapter Index

When Dungeons Emerged into the World.

When it became known that dungeon resources would revolutionize the world.

Surprisingly, people cheered most for the changes in everyday life.

    Not that surprising, really.

To ordinary people, resources that improve their daily convenience naturally seem far better than good items for hunters.

Companies that utilized dungeon resources to transform daily conveniences began to grow.

One such sector was construction, which started when they found a solution to the well-known social problem of noise between floors.

    – Solving the floor noise problem? Sound-absorbing stone is the answer!

    – Discovery of stone that absorbs 100% of sound! Will it revolutionize the construction industry?

    – Experts: “This is a construction revolution!”

A mineral called sound-absorbing stone found in a dungeon.

It took less than a year from when results showed that dissolving it in cement to make concrete could perfectly solve floor noise problems to actual construction.

    There was confusion at first.

While it received high praise for perfectly preventing floor noise, the ratio was too high, making homes like soundproof booths that absorbed all sound, making normal living impossible—to the point where apartments had to be demolished.

    And after two years.

As apartments mixed with sound-absorbing stone began to be built one by one, people started seeking only apartments with this material.

    Naturally, construction costs increased.

Apartment prices rose too, but people no longer had to suffer from floor noise.

    – Wow, this is revolutionary.

    – To think the day would come when we’d have 0% floor noise apartments.

    – Turns out it was the construction companies causing murders all along.

    – Let’s not buy apartments from companies that don’t mix in sound-absorbing stone.

    – It’s really amazing. Kids can run around, play soccer, and stomp, but there are no noise complaints at all.

    – Families with children must go for sound-absorbing stone apartments!

    Revolutionary.

The performance of apartments mixed with sound-absorbing stone was proven by those who actually lived in them, making this word not an exaggeration at all.

Petitions were submitted to the government.

Change the law to require a certain percentage of sound-absorbing stone in all construction!

    But that wasn’t easy either.

“The ratio of sound-absorbing stone is a company secret… more importantly, the problem is the insufficient supply of sound-absorbing stone.”

Golden Construction, which built Korea’s first so-called sound-absorbing stone apartment, made this announcement after their initial construction.

“The average price per pyeong in Jamsil, where sound-absorbing stone apartments were built, is 54 million won. However, when mixing sound-absorbing stone, the price jumps nearly threefold to 140 million won per pyeong… This is because the supply of sound-absorbing stone cannot keep up with the overwhelming demand.”

In the end, there was only one conclusion.

They couldn’t build any more sound-absorbing stone apartments.

Requests to at least share the technology were denied because it was a company secret.

People’s backlash was tremendous, but there was nothing they could do about it.

Even now, sound-absorbing stone remains an extremely difficult resource to obtain. While not rare enough to appear at auctions, high-purity sound-absorbing stone, considering its durability and weight, is used not just in apartment construction but in spacecraft and various advanced technologies, causing prices to skyrocket.

In other words, it’s simply not cost-effective.

Of course, Golden Construction still builds with sound-absorbing stone.

Rather than building inefficient apartments with hard-to-obtain sound-absorbing stone, they make more money and achieve better efficiency by using it in houses for wealthy people.

Ironically, the few sound-absorbing stone apartments in South Korea—

Apartments praised for perfect soundproofing have increased in price over time, becoming the most expensive apartments in the country.

    I’ve seen those articles too.

Well, I just saw them reposted on the Farming World community.

Sound-absorbing stone is quite difficult to obtain even in Farming World, and when people get it, they usually add it when building their base homes.

After all, unless you live in a completely empty area for several kilometers around, sounds from your base will inevitably attract monsters.

In my case, I mostly used it for style points since sound-absorbing stone is considered a premium material in construction.

It’s also great for making a soundproof karaoke room by filling a room with sound-absorbing stone.

    And that sound-absorbing stone…

Came from a level 0 biome copper mine.

“Just how much are you giving me, God…”

I offer a prayer of thanks to a deity who doesn’t exist.

No, I’d be conscienceless to say there’s no God now.

I should be actively spreading the word that God exists and watches over us.

    Clang!

    Crumble-crumble-

As I strike with my pickaxe, rocks fall in showers.

Copper-colored ore, ordinary D+ grade stones, and sound-absorbing stones.

With more falling than what I mined at almost a 1:1:1 ratio, I’m reminded again that this place has an SSS+ grade resource deposit.

I feel the same excitement I felt when clearing around my house—when weeds, stones, and trees dropped in overwhelming amounts—both in the Corrupted Forest and here.

The difference is that unlike those basic resources, everything pouring out of this mine is valuable.

“No matter what happens, I’m going to mine this place clean.”

And I used my farming ability points here.

    [Mining raised to E- grade.]

    [1 Farming Ability Point used]

    [Mining raised to E grade.]

    [1 Farming Ability Point used]

    [Mining raised to E+ grade.]

    [1 Farming Ability Point used]

    [Mining…]

    .

    .

    [Mining raised to S- grade.]

    [6 Farming Ability Points used]

Upgrading abilities requires farming ability points that increase by 1 per grade.

    E to D takes 3 points. D to C takes 6 points total. C to B takes 9 points.

Raising it to S- used up all the farming points I’d saved.

I wonder if I really needed to give Kim Soo-jung that S+ Farming, but I don’t regret it.

“I needed to raise two life skills anyway.”

Farming and Mining are the foundation of Farming World.

    The basics and roots.

These two need to be firmly established whether you’re farming or adventuring, so you can stably expand your farm, invest what you earn, and grow.

At first, you can earn some farm by selling basic crops, but to properly cultivate fields, plant seedlings each season, improve them, and sell profitable items, you must raise your farming grade. Similarly, mining is a basic life skill needed for hunting-style play as opposed to base-building.

To raise farming tech, you need minerals, and a higher mining level allows you to mine more ore and increases the chance of rare resources appearing.

Above all, mines and ores have limited deposits.

To mine more of these limited resources, the only way is to raise your ability grade.

So whether I used the S+ ability selection on farming or mining, I needed to spend points on life skills anyway.

    Of course, I can’t deny I rushed a bit.

    I didn’t expect to find sound-absorbing stone.

Even if I could get stable income from hair-growth moss and other resources, more resources are always better.

I decided to think of it as moving up what I had planned to do at level 1-2.

“Ah, I need to recruit an alchemist NPC too.”

With so many things going on, it’s not easy to keep track of everything without a secretary reminding me.

    [Master Miner]

    – Grade: S-

    – Passive Skill (Mining)

    – Mining speed increased by 100%.

    – Probability of rare or higher grade rewards increased by 100%.

    – Amount of ore dropped increased by 50%.

    – Tool durability decreases 50% slower.

The benefit of spending points is immediately noticeable with each swing of the pickaxe after raising the ability grade.

    Clang!

    Much lighter pickaxe swings.

    More ore dropping.

During mining, some mountain goblins came to scout, but I quickly dealt with them and continued mining diligently until sunset.

“The resource deposit is truly insane. Insane.”

    With my strength and stamina…

Normally, mining all day should have depleted at least part of the mine.

But I’ve only widened the wall near the entrance a bit, and even with my 10 years of Farming World experience, I can’t tell how far these deposits extend.

I’m starting to think this entire stone mountain might be one giant mine.

Normally, a mine should have some ore deposits within a mountain, but this feels like the mountain itself is made of ore.

Returning home, I put all the ores into the ‘Sorting’ box and called Kim Soo-jung.

    “Let’s go out tomorrow night.”

It was time to organize things.
