Ch.8989. The Grand Operation to Eradicate Violence with a Bang (6)

The sudden, unreasonable situation must have felt incredibly unfair, as the God of Violence who leaped out of his own divine form with a genuine roar of anger now stood before me in an extremely grotesque form.

His main body appeared to be a faintly reddish, round, ochre-colored mass of flesh, from which countless appendages had grown.

    Some were arms. Arms.

Ordinary human arms, arms with smooth purple skin, furry beastkin arms, arms covered in scales, and more.

Apart from being arms, they varied in size and shape; some planted firmly on the ground, while others held various objects.

Clubs, axes, daggers, knives, spears, knuckles, hammers, maces, shields, crossbows, and all manner of other implements.

Each hand firmly gripped weapons that could serve as instruments of violence against someone.

    Some were mouths.

Mouths spewing curses, demands disguised as advice, rebukes, mockery, verbal abuse, and taunts in all manner of ways, voices, and languages.

They were the crystallization of verbal violence, created solely to inflict wounds on others.

    Some were eyeballs.

Eyeballs of different colors and forms, all bearing gazes of contempt, disdain, and ridicule.

Gazes that could crush the spirit of any ordinary person with just a look.

Literally countless and diverse forms of violence, a being that was the very concept itself—before Partios, the Evil God of Violence.

    《……..》

As I looked down in the form of a skull with a cross-shaped red halo, the enraged Partios began his attack.

    《───Die!!!》

Partios’s voice, filled with rage and resentment, transformed into energy waves through the power of his divine authority.

It was killing intent made manifest, imbued with the energy of death—in gaming terms, a kind of instant-death skill.

While it might be a fitting attack in this place where emotions themselves function as power, how could such a thing work against someone of a higher caliber like me?

I simply held a powerful will that disrupted those energy waves, then imbued my inner emotions with power, releasing them into the divine realm as divine authority.

    [Awoooooooo───!!!]

    [Grrrr……….]

    [Kyeong! Kyeong!]

It was a massive wave formed by masses of blood in the shape of wolves.

Howling, growling, threatening, barking wildly—biologically not wolves at all, yet essentially closer to the Idea of “wolf” than any other being in this world.

This wave, composed of countless such beings gathered together, surged forward toward a single entity—Partios, the Evil God of Violence—launching its attack.

Of course, this alone wouldn’t be enough to bring down Partios.

    《Die!!!》

The countless arms attached to what could be called his main body swung their weapons wildly in all directions, emitting energy that manifested his killing intent.

The weapons wielded by those arms were the very concept of violence itself, precisely targeting and intercepting all the wolves, while the energy of manifested killing intent annihilated the intercepted wolves.

Power against power, faith against faith, divinity against divinity, and concept against concept.

Each time violence swung its arms, the divine realm trembled from the aftermath, and the screams of the sliced wolves reverberated through the souls around, twisting the environment into something bizarre.

The clash of revenge and violence, unfolding on a scale so vast that the human mind could scarcely comprehend it, had already reached a realm beyond what language could possibly describe in text.

To some observer, this collision might appear as a wounded, massive crimson beast fighting a muscular ruffian; to another, it might look like an army in red armor battling barbaric monsters; and those with exceptional spiritual sensitivity might perceive the true forms of myself and Partios beyond the appearances.

But one thing is certain: the clash occurring here and now between Partios and me—

It was an experience I never imagined I would have, something that couldn’t even begin to be compared with the likes of a mere Wolf God.

    ※ ※ ※

    At the same time.

    “Cavalry, advance!”

    “””””””””Waaaaaaaaaa───!!!!”””””””””

The battle unfolding between my forces of revenge and Partios’s forces of violence was now decisively tilted in my overwhelming favor, without need for any particular metaphor.

In fact, it would have been stranger if my side had been losing.

To put it bluntly, my side was operating what amounted to magical tanks—Blood Cannons, magical artillery mounted on armored carriages, freely firing in an era when ballistas were still cutting-edge technology.

Moreover, we had field artillery capable of switching ammunition types in an era before even trebuchets existed, and infantry all armed with magical muskets arranged in a formation similar to the tercio.

As a result, the enemy was completely shredded by our superior ranged firepower before they could even engage in their specialty of close combat, and even when they did manage to approach, they were efficiently slaughtered by the magical tercio.

    “Kuooooooo───!!!”

The enemy had brought a large number of high-ranking servants, Beast Lords, and with the power of their area buffs, their offensive seemed to gain strength, almost breaking through our firmly held front line, but….

    “Take revenge!!!!”

    “Uwaaaaaaaaaaa───!!!!”

We countered by deploying our own high-ranking servants, the Avatars of Revenge, and faced them head-on. Ultimately, in the face of the overwhelming difference in military power, the forces of violence began to crumble.

Well, from a dispassionate perspective, this outcome was almost inevitable.

The relationship between gods, their servants, and their believers—and by extension, the social structure of religious orders and divine realms—tends to vary depending on the nature of the god who rules at the top of that structure.

The religious order of Makius, the God of War, who is like a general, the highest commander of an army, is structured similarly to a military organization.

The Phobos Order, which resembles a gang or large-scale violent organization, with the God of Fear, Phobos, as its big boss.

The Bestia Order, which is closer to the conventional religious orders of fantasy worlds.

While there are such diverse social structures…

The social structure of the Evil God of Violence Partios, his subordinates, and the Violence Order can be described in one phrase as a violent organization from apocalyptic fiction… frankly speaking, a gang of thugs.

The organization is maintained solely because Partios at the top is a god, and because those who catch his eye can gain power.

From a dispassionate perspective, the Violence Order is a structure where weaklings cling to a strong figure to receive scraps of divine miracles.

In reality, the main force of the enemy army consists of medium to large intermediate-rank species and servants, while the rest are just rabble that don’t even reach the intermediate level.

Above all, they’re just a disorganized mob with neither faith nor loyalty.

They might be the most passionate when they have the upper hand, but when at a disadvantage, they become flustered, unable to respond properly, and quickly collapse.

…Frankly speaking, they’re no different from a horde of goblins.

No, goblins might actually be better.

Goblins are fundamentally very cowardly, with a habit of backstabbing and fleeing, but this stems from survival instincts at the bottom of the ecosystem.

Goblins that muster courage to protect their offspring or families are quite common.

Compared to them… these creatures are truly just moths drawn to the flame of power.

They don’t even have minimal religious coloring, nor a clear concept of the afterlife.

According to Titan Philemon, most of them are just thugs, and looking at the situation in Evil God Partios’s divine realm, it seems he didn’t have much of a plan either.

Of course, by the time of the main story in the game, they would have accumulated some experience.

Whether due to that experience or some other reason, while they maintain a suitably violent and oppressive aspect, they undoubtedly take the form of a religious group…

But now, Partios in his current immature state as an Evil God and his forces are merely moths drawn to power.

While servants who have reached a stage where betrayal is impossible might be different, those who were merely enticed by power began to flee one by one… leading to the current situation.

The main forces that could be called the core of the army had all fled, and the remaining servants, little more than stragglers, were being killed one by one due to the overwhelming difference in military power.

Even though fleeing would ultimately lead to the same end, their foolish actions made me lose any desire to defend them.

    And at the same moment.

《I, I am Partios! I who am the embodiment of all violence!!!》

《Silence. Close that ugly mouth of yours, you novice Evil God.》

The clash of concepts between the two Evil Gods of Violence and Revenge was also approaching its conclusion in the form of a complete victory for one side.
