Ch.8984 – Ideal Type World Cup

“Why do you watch my stream?”

Sometimes after I start streaming, this thought crosses my mind.

At first, I just started this to earn some potion money rather than waste my time.

But looking back, I can’t shake the feeling that my streams have been too self-centered.

At some point, turning off the chat and blocking all communication became a habit.

It wasn’t just in World of Arsheria. Even long before that…

A small 3-pyeong space in virtual reality. Before, it was just a bed, a table, and a chair.

Structurally, not much has changed now.

Though since I stream alone and often need to write equations, I bought a chalkboard-like item from the premium shop.

I could see the fluffy animal fur on the carpet between my toes.

It was a carpet I bought at 100 times the market price as “server recovery costs” – one with the exact same hash value as the carpet Seol-ah sold.

It probably has the identical atomic structure as other carpets with the same product name.

I know it’s meaningless, but… sometimes reason surrenders.

Until now, my streams consisted of me scribbling and muttering about various magical theories I knew.

Knowledge from my past life isn’t complete.

Like when you wake up from a long dream and desperately try to remember the details before they fade, I’ve been piecing together the puzzle of my past life.

After awakening the magical knowledge dormant in my subconscious, all that remained was regret.

Ah… if only I had used this magic back then.

If only I had known ways to conserve mana at that time.

I research and lecture to soothe the regretful soul of my past life.

But who is this outburst from my vocal cords really directed at?

Maybe that’s why I turn off the chat completely when I’m giving these lectures disguised as monologues.

I don’t want to be criticized. If someone besides me says my choices were wrong, I don’t think I could handle it.

I don’t want to think about anything. Especially on days like today.

[Unmei no itazura demo~ (Even if it’s fate’s prank)]

Today, instead of my usual piano or violin classics, a somewhat chaotic song was playing.

[Meguri aeta koto ga~ (The fact that we met)]

In pitch-black darkness, the sweet voice of a honey badger girl passionately singing a foreign song echoes.

    [Shiawase nano~ (Is happiness)]

    “…”

My intention was to filter out viewers, but the problem was that I had to listen to this song too.

At first I thought it would be perfect since her voice is similar to mine, but it was more uncomfortable than I imagined.

I guess VTubers singing is the trend these days?

    [Renai Circulation (Cover – Kariri)]

    [2:41/4:15]

With VR capsules becoming widespread, the boundary between VTubers and non-VTubers has been blurring.

There’s still debate about how to define VTubers, but a few principles are clear.

First, VTubers shouldn’t reveal “the person inside,” and even if revealed, it shouldn’t be through official channels. Though the reverse doesn’t necessarily apply.

Also, not everyone who hides “the person inside” is a VTuber.

Within these ambiguous definitions, “VTubers” definitely existed and formed a massive ecosystem.

In that sense, “Kariri,” a VTuber with 900,000 subscribers, was influential enough to appear in my recommended VTube channels despite having nothing to do with me.

I was clueless about this culture, but thanks to this kid in a honey badger costume, my stream viewers became a bit more docile.

    [Fuwafuwaru~ Fuwafuwari~♡]

-PLEASE STOP!!!!!!!!! WE’RE ALL GONNA DIE!!!!!!!!

-Today’s discipline is on point lolololololol

-Still not leaving? Still not leaving? Still not leaving? Still not leaving? Still not leaving?

-Endure with pure willpower! This is the streamer you chose!

    -LMAOOOOO

    -Kariring~HoneyBadgerHere~Kariring~HoneyBadgerHere~Kariring~HoneyBadgerHere~

-ㄴThe HoneyBee kids are already infesting this place lol

-ㄴWhy are the fans called HoneyBees when she’s a honey badger?

-ㄴBecause in English it’s HONEY Badger

    -I’m gonna eat lunch outside!!!!!!

-Already 1000 kills for real?? lololololol

-It’s the Great Depression, run for your lives~~~

    “That’s all for now.”

I closed all the VTube windows and turned my camera back on.

Let’s start again with the original calm atmosphere.

Under the soft, not-too-bright lighting, I settled into my armchair.

The chat was still heated, but the flames were pointing in the opposite direction, which gave me some satisfaction.

I glanced at the viewer count.

    [Viewers – 1480]

The number had been cut in half compared to before, but the inner connection between us had grown stronger.

It’s always one mudfish that muddies the water, one rotten apple that spoils the barrel.

After cutting out the trolls and hostile viewers, the room wasn’t perfect but quite to my liking.

    [‘GreatJoyMountain’ donated 1,000 won!]

-NoName, you’re really likeable. I’m a Kariri fan too

With the cheerful donation sound of coins dropping, a voice identical to the girl who was just singing delivered the donation message.

Did this Kariri person even surrender her voice to capitalism?

    “Thank you.”

My loyal viewers unanimously demanded to know what I’d do next.

If I ended the stream right away, the atmosphere would obviously turn hostile, so I rocked back and forth in my armchair, deep in thought.

It was too short to give my usual lecture on magical knowledge.

Since I never interacted with viewers except through donation messages, this situation was very awkward.

Like when class ends but everyone stays seated, waiting for the professor.

Still, I should give these patient kids at least one sweet marshmallow.

“I’ll end the stream in an hour. Until then, if there’s any content you’d like to see, I’ll consider it.”

    -What is this noob saying?

-Announcing the end before the stream even properly started lololol

-So the lack of a stream title really meant no content!

-First thing you do when getting popular is kick the anthill lolololol

“You don’t seem interested. Then I’ll end the stream here…”

    -How about a Q&A, host?

    -Try reading TripWiki?

    -Want to watch VTube reactions?

-We should be grateful the host is even looking at chat… sigh…

    -MBTI test?

-Let’s do an Ideal Type World Cup, NoName!

    “Ideal Type World Cup?”

    [‘jdfshsdfjdfs’ donated 5,000 won!]

-How about a Twissy female streamer Ideal Type World Cup?

Can “ideal type” and “World Cup” coexist as terms?

An ideal type should be the most perfect abstract concept for an individual, so comparing it with others seems contradictory from the start.

-Wait, the host is female, why female streamers? lol

-So you want us to watch male cams for an hour?

-ㄴI’d rather listen to Kariri’s songs for an hour

    -ㄴTrue lol

With half curiosity and half skepticism, I clicked the link to find various World Cup categories prepared.

‘Ah, so it’s a World Cup to find your ideal type.’

Instead of defining your ideal type from the start, you select from various options to ultimately choose one.

Actually, the “ideal type” label was almost unnecessary, as there were food World Cups, life movie World Cups, and even Po*émon World Cups in the popular rankings.

It wasn’t much different from a simple VS game. The “World Cup” name probably came from the tournament format.

Since viewers wanted different categories, the previously quiet chat started to become lively.

I quickly browsed through various World Cups sorted by popularity.

I don’t like judging others by appearance. I actually rather despise it.

    [Pretty Female Idol World Cup]

    [Anime Female Character World Cup]

    [AV Actress World Cup]

    [Po*émon Anthropomorphic World Cup]

Just when scrolling further seemed pointless, one phrase caught my eye as if by magic.

    [Combat Magic World Cup]

[If you could use only one magic in battle? / Includes 128 most commonly used combat spells worldwide as reported by World Magic Culture Forum / 6th circle and above excluded]

    [Select total rounds: 32]

[32 random spells will compete out of 128 candidates.]

An unpopular category that probably no one wanted.

Then a good idea came to mind.

“This will be a viewer participation event. The three people who make the same choices as me and survive until the end will receive moderator privileges for my channel.”
