    Ch.8883 – Reinforcing Discipline

    # The Last Day of March

On the last day of March, Sia informed me that she had completed her VTube settlement.

I was surprised to see the 3 million won deposited in my account and asked her about it.

[NoName: Isn’t this amount too large?]

[SunnyNight: Our Name has become quite famous! I made sure to give you a generous amount calculating future views too. ^^7]

Just as I was about to raise questions, Sia sent me a video link.

[Mysterious Korean Mage Streamer Causing a Sensation Overseas (Warning: Extreme Coolness)]

    -103 million views · 2 days ago

    [SunnyNight: Is this really you?]

    [SunnyNight: This is insane lolololol]

    [NoName: ?]

It was a 20-minute long video.

The protagonist in that video was none other than my past life self.

Well, technically it was an elf from World of Arsheria, but aside from the ears, didn’t she look exactly like me?

I wanted to report it for portrait rights infringement, but my current appearance was different from that curvy woman.

Since there wasn’t a social atmosphere where using someone else’s game avatar would be problematic unless it was based on their actual appearance, I missed my chance to object.

[SunnyNight: Aren’t you playing LoL these days? I was sure you’d reach Challenger.]

[NoName: I don’t really feel like it. What about you?]

[SunnyNight: I think I’ve lost my touch… It’s been so long since the season started but I still can’t break through the Grandmaster wall… So I quit streaming because of that.]

[NoName: You quit streaming? You don’t do it anymore?]

[SunnyNight: Well, it’s not so much quitting as… indefinite hiatus?]

[SunnyNight: When I was streaming with you, it was actually fun again after a long time.]

[SunnyNight: I’m planning to take a long break because weird people keep bothering me because of that incident from before.]

I was about to say “That’s completely irresponsible…” but then I reflected on myself.

Come to think of it, am I any different from her?

After saying I’d take a break from streaming for a while, I didn’t leave any notice about when I’d return.

[SunnyNight: Or should I switch to WoA too? This big sis actually knows a thing or two about magic!]

Sia expressed her confidence with a cute emoticon.

After discussing the game system with Sia for a while, she seemed curious about my identity and mentioned the video again.

[SunnyNight: But are you really an academy student? In the video, Korean university professors are analyzing the magic you used, and the situation was pretty funny lolololol]

    [NoName: What did they say?]

[SunnyNight: They said you might be a military mage who participated in a world war! Of course, they probably said that because they don’t understand virtual reality games, right?]

[NoName: I’ll watch the video you sent later.]

[SunnyNight: I watched all the analysis videos too, and how did you know and use all those spells? You’re amazing, our Name!]

Before Sia’s excitement could escalate further, I exchanged brief greetings with her and closed the chat.

I sighed deeply at the somewhat artificial and patriotic video title.

My original plan for today was to decide on gifts for Yuna and Haru who would be visiting my house tomorrow evening, but it seemed I would have to postpone that.

    * * *

[Viewers need to be trained properly from the beginning!]

[Otherwise they’ll keep trying to climb all over you! Do you know how stressful that is?!]

[They’ll ask why you’re late today, what you were doing instead of streaming, and why are there so many asking about your underwear color…!]

[Make them realize you’re the absolute god during streams and establish discipline right away!]

I hadn’t forgotten the advice Sia gave me as a streamer.

    [Stream Time – 0:06:21]

    [Viewer Count – 2196]

As usual, I observed the various chats floating around until the broadcast reached the 7-minute mark.

Even though I hadn’t shown myself yet, donations were already pouring in.

    [‘RiceDaddy’sMagicClass’ donated 10,000 won!]

-Like if you’re NoName who wants to live off streaming lololol

There was a valid reason for keeping quiet for a certain period of time.

If I delivered announcements right at the start of the broadcast, I would have to repeat them like a cuckoo for those who came in late.

Besides, it’s chaotic when people are joining, and I had absolutely no desire to talk in front of people who weren’t even listening.

Still, I felt it was the least I could do to respond to someone who donated, so I typed ‘like’ in the comment section and let it flow by like others did.

Even someone who puts a letter of fortune in a bottle and sends it out to sea doesn’t have high expectations that someone will receive it.

However, my broadcast seemed to be filled with excellent fishermen who remarkably discerned the chat I wrote.

-I know you’re watching the stream, NoName!

-Of course she knows, she turned it on herself lolololol

-Are you going back to your roots with a mute concept today?

-How is this going back to roots lololololol

-Then how does she run the stream? (genuinely curious)

I was impressed with myself for setting up the broadcast so skillfully now.

Virtual reality broadcasts didn’t require much physical preparation, but there were so many detailed settings that could be configured that it took quite a long time to learn all the functions.

Sometimes there were streamers who broadcast “virtual female cam” rooms with appearances identical to reality, and they say there are dozens of settings to adjust – camera angles, lighting, decoration, blur effects, and so on.

    “Hello everyone.”

I announced the start of the broadcast with a simple but respectful greeting.

    -Oh finally

-?? Why does your voice sound like that?

-Where’s NoName and who’s this kid lololololol

    -Where did your sister go?

    -Stream substitute?

I always felt a tightness in my chest when expectations went awry.

I frowned involuntarily at the chat pointing out my voice.

    “What’s wrong with my voice?”

    -It’s no different than usual?

-Ah, in WoA you used your game avatar voice so it was different

-Are all the viewers here newcomers?

-Well, the host’s voice does sound young lol

    -Very, extremely young lol

-Perfect voice for reading fairy tales lolololololol

    -Is this NoName’s original voice?

The reactions were split in two.

Those who were puzzled by my voice were people who had only seen the World of Arsheria videos.

Perhaps the semi-automatic customization included vocal cords as well, making it distinctly different from my current voice.

Now I was broadcasting with my natural seven-year-old voice, so quite a few people expressed discomfort.

-It’s a bit uncomfortable to listen to, can you change to your avatar voice?

-Who are you to tell her what to do??

-I actually like it, sounds like a natural high school girl, pyapyapya

-A military-grade mage with military service experience who’s a high school girl, wow

    -lolololololololol

-Why are you hurting the kid’s feelings

So this is what Sia was warning me about.

Whether intentional or not, each of their messages poked at my nerves. To the point where it was uncomfortable to keep watching.

They say that earning money through internet broadcasting involves some emotional labor to satisfy viewers, but that wasn’t important enough to deny my own identity.

    [Viewer Count – 2344]

I already thought four digits was a lot.

Cephiron Academy had about 450 students, and including faculty and foundation staff, around 500 people in total.

When I see all of them entering the auditorium and listening attentively to the principal’s speech, I think, that person must be under tremendous pressure.

But having 4 or 5 times that many people clearly exceeded the area I could manage alone.

I needed to filter out the “noise.”

Anyway, only a small number of those who clicked out of curiosity would actually settle into the broadcast.

In the end, if it doesn’t match their preferences, they’ll leave after a month or a week.

It would be better to clearly imprint what kind of broadcast this is right now.

Just then, a good method occurred to me.

There’s no need to try hard to adapt to my voice.

It’s a simple matter of kicking out all those who seem unable to adapt, isn’t it?

“Does my voice sound that strange?”

    -I think it’s fine?

-You sound too much like a baby, like a female cam trying to sound cute artificially, not great

    -That’s her actual voice, seriously…

Bad people. I turned off the floating camera.

-??? Why did you turn it off again!

    -What’s happening what’s happening

-Did you press it by mistake?

    -Don’t get upset, we’re sorry!!!

-You toxic newcomers! You toxic newcomers! You toxic newcomers! You toxic newcomers!

-Cut them all out! Arrest them all! Cut them all out! Arrest them all! Cut them all out! Arrest them all! Cut them all out! Arrest them all! Cut them all out! Arrest them all!

-Are you really ending the stream…? No way???

A person’s five senses are each sensitive, but that’s all said when vision is excluded.

It wasn’t knowledge I wanted to know, but all senses have an order.

Without vision, you rely most on hearing, then touch, and so on.

I launched VTube and searched for the song I wanted.

Viewers could only hear click sound effects on the dark black screen, so they expressed frustration.

During the time I was trapped in the capsule, I still remember something that appeared in VTube’s recommended videos.

Now the original song has eroded away and only someone’s remake version remains, but it wasn’t bad.

Things might improve a bit if I just play this song continuously until only viewers with decent ears remain.

    -Kariri’s voice?

-How did you recognize that immediately?

    -That’s kind of scary…
