Ch.8787. Final Battle with Rector Towards the Curtain Call

“How dare you desecrate this sacred duel!”

    Recter’s stance faltered with rage.

The evil sentai Vengeance didn’t miss the opening and attacked Recter with their individual specialties.

    “Dark Photon, Dry!”

Lu-a fired multiple layers of dark matter from the torn space, separating Recter’s armor in a grid pattern.

She neutralized and weakened the source of his defensive power—the galactic energy—by counter-rotating it with negative mass.

“‘Joints seven through twelve, halt. Blood in the right atrium, flow backward. Upper arm muscle fibers, dissolve.'”

Lena was targeting Recter’s movements with pinpoint accuracy while infusing her commands. The smaller her target, the more powerful her commands became.

This method could be effective despite the difference in rank. Recter’s movements slowed down considerably.

    “Crumble, crumble, crumble!”

Boksil fired her Gatling gun in rapid bursts as if it were a toy.

The firepower was so terrifying that the ground cracked from the recoil.

With each thud of the heavy shell casings hitting the ground, cannon-like bullets embedded themselves in Recter’s body.

Everyone was showing perfect tactics, just as they had trained with Recter in mind.

Even facing a powerful enemy, they weren’t overwhelmed by the pressure of real combat.

Seeing this, I felt everyone had made the right choice.

    “Ooooohhh!”

    But Recter was no pushover.

He condensed his aura more densely and powerfully before releasing it.

    “Yulong!”

Somi quickly rotated Yulong into Recter’s radius. Creating clouds on the ground, she dampened Recter’s attack.

Having successfully defended, Yulong moved across the battlefield, boosting the morale of all team members, providing necessary buffs, and offering continuous healing.

Simultaneously, Somi used the lift from her wings to directly attack Recter with her body’s martial arts. She employed hit-and-run tactics. Using Morgan’s poisonous claws, she brought Recter to a poisoned state.

    “Ursula, even you…!”

    Excellent teamwork.

We had prepared for the Recter battle more than for any other executive, and it was paying off.

Somi, who had joined us in a hurry, was fulfilling her role well.

Her skills from the Dragon King Sentai days hadn’t diminished. Back then, Somi supported and strengthened the entire team with Yulong, enabling everyone to fight at full capacity.

Under these conditions, I can easily fight at full power too.

    Which sin should I use?

    —–

    Pride: SUPERBIA 10/10

    Greed: AVARITIA 5/10 (-5)

    Envy: INVIDIA 10/10

    Wrath: IRA 5/10 (-5)

    Lust: LUXURIA 5/10

    Gluttony: GULA 3/10 (-5)

    Sloth: PIGRITIA 6/10

    —–

I see. The sins I used in the battle with Choi Minseo were greed, wrath, and gluttony.

So the numbers decrease each time I use them.

There must be a limit to how many times I can use them.

Of course, this isn’t my only means of killing Recter.

From the beginning, we’ve planned strategies to defeat him even without the Armageddon form.

Still, if possible, I want to be quick and efficient.

I’ll go with a powerful technique.

    “This is unacceptable!!”

    BOOM!

Recter convulsed and slammed his fist into the ground. His aura exploded like a volcano, shattering the earth and shooting upward.

    “Ugh!”

    “Dodge it!”

Lu-a, Lena, Boksil, and Somi avoided the spreading aura.

Recter glared at me with eyes blazing with fury and shouted at the top of his lungs.

“This is a duel, Gerogius! I recognized you as a warrior and invested time and resources in your growth! How dare you cowardly borrow the hands of others in this duel!”

    Not worth responding to.

    I summon a sin.

    “Lust.”

I stretched out my right arm and from the burning ashes at its end, I picked up a card.

As if I’d done this thousands of times before, my body moved naturally to equip Lust to my belt.

    [LUXURIA]

    BOOM!

A massive door fell behind me. When the stone door, intricately carved with scenes of the apocalypse, opened, countless cavalry charged out toward Recter.

    “Waaaah!”

The army once owned by an ancient wise king began slashing Recter’s body, delivering overwhelming violence.

    “Greed.”

    [AVARITIA]

After activating another sin, I walked steadily through the gaps between the cavalry and stood before Recter with my arms crossed.

“Gerogius…! Were you nothing but an inferior species all along? Did you never have a warrior’s pride?”

I can only sneer at this.

“Duels and honor? You started an invasion war and now you’re talking nonsense. You’re just a monster interfering with my goals. Why should I have respected you in the first place?”

“All I wanted was a duel with a strong opponent! The empire and army were just means to that end. You have insulted me!”

    “That’s exactly it.”

I crouched down in front of him as he finally fell to his knees under the concentrated fire, looking down at him.

“To win a war, you use everything—justification, strategy, whatever it takes, right? You were just strong enough until now to force duels on your terms. Now I have that initiative, so you follow my rules.”

    “What…!”

“These are my rules, Recter. I’ll eliminate obstacles in the most efficient way possible, by any means necessary. I don’t create variables.”

“Coward! You could fight me one-on-one evenly right now! What remains for a warrior who throws away all honor and pride?”

    “Peace remains.”

    I lowered my arm.

    SWOOSH—CRACK!!

Following my movement, the spear of greed, summoned from space, finally flew here and pierced straight through the center of Recter’s body with all its accelerated force.

    BOOM!

A terrifying shockwave spread out, creating a crater in the ground.

    “Kuh… huk…!”

    Recter collapsed, spitting blood.

    I told him:

“This is the villain’s way. Well, you won’t need to remember it now.”

I moved away from him and gave a signal.

Under the barrier created by Lena, Lu-a’s dark matter blocked the space, and outside that, Somi’s clouds prepared to block the aftermath.

    KABOOM!!

Recter’s aura, having lost its master, began to go berserk and explode.

The team members blocked the force comparable to the collapse of a galaxy.

After a brief flash, a small black hole formed in the space where Recter had been.

    “Did we defeat him?”

    Lu-a asked.

I raised my hand, signaling them not to move yet.

“How are things in other locations?”

“The battles continue. The average destruction rate in major cities is 11 percent.”

“Higher than expected. Lu-a, Lena, Boksil. You three head to the base areas immediately and deal with the low-level combatants.”

This is why I wanted to avoid facing Recter and Dorado simultaneously.

Dorado’s low-level combat unit is too numerous. It’s not a scale we can handle while dealing with Recter.

The civilian casualties are becoming too great.

The fight with Recter isn’t over yet.

But I can’t keep the three of them here any longer.

A villain organization with no citizens to rule has no value.

“No matter how I look at it, Recter’s life force seems cut, but something remains. Be careful, Geo. And that form looks quite handsome on you.”

Lena opened her fan and immediately disappeared into the quantum realm with Boksil and Lu-a.

Somi spread her wings and flew to me.

    “Ui-seok, what about Recter?”

    “It’s not over yet.”

    Somi swallowed hard.

“Hmm. Even Recter was subdued so easily?”

Somi and I looked up toward the voice.

Dorado was floating in the air.

“Dangerous. You are too dangerous. How could such a cursed species be hiding on this remote planet?”

Dorado waved his staff to open a portal. It connected to the Galaxy Empire’s ship, Dorado’s domain.

Inside it, a massive orb storing an enormous amount of magical power was flashing.

    “Recter, rise and fight.”

Dorado drew ten huge magic circles. The ominous purple magic circles flashed. Without clouds, the sky darkened, and aura began to rise from the ground.

    “Ooooooh—”

Aura gathered where Recter had fallen.

Those squirming, black semi-liquid-like substances clumped together, growing larger and beginning to take the form of the monster, Recter.

    “Graaaaaaah!!”

Soon, Recter, now about 50 meters tall, fully formed and roared.

Well, it’s standard for monsters to grow gigantic when defeated.

Seeing it in person, it’s quite impressive.

    “Ui-seok, this is…”

“Somi, you haven’t forgotten how to pilot, right?”

Somi skillfully caught the key I threw. She understood my words immediately and nodded.

We promptly pressed the call button on the controller attached to the key.

A thunderous sound echoed in the sky.

Six black mechs immediately flew toward us.

Somi and I boarded the mechs right away. I took Magentaurus, Somi took Karamonon.

The colors were too flashy, so we painted them all black, making their names meaningless now.

The remaining four—Violapto, Hansaamo, Siagus, and Titazalia—were modified by my subordinates to be controlled by AI.

    “Grr, grrraaaah!!”

The giant Recter saw us and roared in a frenzy. As he tried to swing his fist…

    BOOM!

The ground beneath his feet collapsed, causing him to lose balance and fall into the hole.

    “What’s happening…!”

    Dorado was bewildered.

    Of course it’s a trap.

There was a reason I secured this location in advance for the final battle with Recter.

I had deep pits dug underground to restrict his movement in case he grew gigantic.

I also filled them with liquid substances that solidify immediately upon contact with oxygen to bind his feet.

    “Ooh, oooooh!”

Giant Recter ended up like someone stuck in a bathtub.

His lower body was buried and solidified, making him look ridiculous.

“You even prepared for gigantification magic. How many moves ahead did you read? Gerogius, is he some kind of prophet?”

    I ignored Dorado’s muttering.

    We’ve bought enough time.

    “Ui-seok, shall we go?”

In response to Somi’s communication requesting a signal, I answered immediately.

Of course, there was no reason to hesitate.

    “Yes, let’s combine.”
