Ch.85[Chapter 85] The Story of Smashing Candy

This terrifying Demon Lord Princess Teu Le Vante stood confidently by Sir Dominic’s side.

There wasn’t exactly a clear plan.

She simply stood where many of those she liked were gathered.

From the Demon Lord’s perspective, the Chief of Staff was undoubtedly a good person.

Sir Dominic was someone who had given her candy.

She didn’t know Sir Dominica yet, but since she resembled Sir Dominic, she couldn’t be a bad person.

And Duke Poe Le Jak was also someone who had given her a large candy stick.

In conclusion, she had moved to the side with two trustworthy people rather than just one.

Truly a democratic Demon Lord following the principle of majority rule!

However, that small decision caused great damage to the Chief of Staff.

“Kuk. I see. So that’s what it was…”

The Chief of Staff was about to cough up blood, but realizing he was in front of the Demon Lord, he immediately corrected his posture.

Then, as if having realized something, he glared at Sir Dominic with an indignant expression.

“Stockholm Syndrome! When hostages feel compassion or attachment to their captors instead of fear! My Lord has developed Stockholm Syndrome due to excessive kidnappings!”

Having completely missed the mark, the Chief of Staff was so frustrated that he stomped his foot with a bang.

The candies placed on the grid pattern in front of him bounced up all at once with a twang.

“Puzzles are my specialty! I’ll show you exactly why I became Chief of Staff! I’ll let you have the first move!”

Sir Dominic didn’t understand why the Chief of Staff was so angry, but he decided to gratefully accept the offer to go first.

“…Not good. This is really not good.”

In front of Sir Dominic, Sir Dominica, Duke Poe Le Jak, and Demon Lord Teu Le Vante, there was a mark that said [X1].

Sir Dominica, looking at the pile of candies arranged in rows and columns, pushed a red candy in front of her to switch places with a purple candy above it.

Then, four red candies lined up in a row burst with a pop, creating an empty space.

The empty space was filled by other candies pushing in from the surroundings.

“As I thought. There’s no chain reaction. When he stomped his foot earlier and the candies shot up into the air, he must have manipulated something.”

    “What’s a chain reaction?”

    Sir Dominic asked Sir Dominica.

Beside them, Duke Poe Le Jak and Demon Lord Teu Le Vante were moving the large candies around, fascinated by them.

“When you line up three or more candies in a row, they disappear and the candies above fall down. If the remaining parts and new parts connect to form another line of three or more candies— Oh, my goodness. Just try to make a line of three or more candies.”

Sir Dominic tilted his head in confusion but decided to follow Sir Dominica’s instructions.

After pushing a strange purple candy to form a line of seven, Sir Dominic asked Sir Dominica.

    “Like this?”

“Yes, that’s… Wait. What are the rules here?”

Dominica hurriedly asked the Chief of Staff on the opposite side.

The Chief of Staff covered his mouth and laughed vilely as he spoke.

“Normally in PVP, there are only four colors. But this has five colors. I think you already know the rules?”

    “Ah, raid rules?”

Sir Dominica pressed her forehead as if she had a headache.

The original rules were already complicated, and now raid rules?

Sir Dominic had no idea what these terms meant.

    “So, what’s happening right now?”

Right. When you don’t know, all you can do is ask.

“Well, I’m not sure how much the rules have been modified, but if it’s based on raid rules…”

As the purple candies disappeared, strange purple energy appeared and was absorbed by the Chief of Staff.

The [X1] mark in front of the Chief of Staff changed to [X3].

“That move you just made was the worst possible one.”

It was now the Chief of Staff’s turn.

A burning pit appeared behind the Chief of Staff, and from it emerged three large demonic arms wearing gauntlets, which flipped over the candies on the board.

Now, more than half of the candies on the board were purple.

In fact, Star I’m Not Little had woken up to the sound of donations, but for some reason, she didn’t feel like reacting to the continuous donation sounds and just kept her eyes closed.

However, when the music set to play for donations over 50,000 Gacha Stones started playing, I’m Not Little could no longer pretend to be asleep.

“Oh my, the big spender President has donated 50,000 Gacha Stones— Huh?”

-[‘De’ has donated 10 Gacha Stones!]

But what she saw was a similar-sounding song that came with a video donation.

Yes, Star I’m Not Little had been fooled again.

    -Got you lol

    -At least you’re awake now.

I’m Not Little was irritated by the fake donation that was worthy of a ban, but seeing the strange flow in the chat, she decided to check it first.

-Wow, we’re loyal subjects. Trying to wake you up somehow.

    -For real lol

“Be quiet. Whether you’re loyal or not will be determined after the autopsy.”

She spoke curtly due to the fatigue from consecutive broadcasts and the aftermath of the recent fake donation.

I’m Not Little manipulated her mouse to scroll through the chat, reading what seemed important one by one.

And at some point, her mouse stopped.

“You’re telling me to… look at the screen?”

Star I’m Not Little turned her head to look at the broadcast screen.

There was clearly a Star CCTV that she had turned on so she wouldn’t be bored.

When obtaining character cards, Stars and Pioneers used them differently.

For Pioneers, they simply installed the data into an android and that was it.

Afterward, they helped the new personality adapt to their new body through a process that made them a proper member of the Pioneer Corps.

Pioneers called this “affection work,” or building affection, and considered it quite important.

On the other hand, Stars used the data differently.

When bringing a new character into a game or their own world, it wouldn’t feel good to see a doll that only moved exactly as written in its status window.

Instead, Stars could collect what were called memory fragments.

These memory fragments, obtained by following the character’s path, were like magic powder that helped their characters move more naturally and similarly to the original.

They would never meet the original anyway, and even if they did by some chance, the Central System would provide protection and measures.

It was a process to develop more affection for one’s character.

That’s what collecting memory fragments was all about.

As a side note, there were some crazy “Pioneer Stars” who installed data into androids and then enhanced them with memory fragments, but such individuals were considered eccentric by both Pioneers and Stars.

Anyway, what I’m Not Little was doing now was the same.

Memory fragments don’t drop just anywhere.

They can only be obtained in areas designated by the Central System.

Basically, in the Academy, areas are divided into places like the plaza, podium room, laboratory, classroom, etc., and depending on how consistently a Star visited these places, additional locations for obtaining memory fragments would open up.

One might ask if it’s illegal to place CCTVs in such places and randomly take memory fragments from characters, but surprisingly, this wasn’t illegal.

Only Stars needed memory fragments, and while there were Stars interested in mortals, none had sexual interest in them.

Of course, there might be some if you looked hard enough, but such individuals would lose their qualification to observe Gachaland, so Gachaland remains peaceful today.

    “Huh, huuuh?”

Star I’m Not Little was so surprised that she forgot human language and started uttering primitive ancient language.

    -Surprised, aren’t you?

-See, we told you we’re loyal!

“You’re right. Just for today, you’re all loyal subjects.”

Star I’m Not Little felt grateful to the viewers who had woken her up.

And she was moved by the fact that she could obtain memory fragments of the rare Sir Dominic and Sir Dominica.

    -Huh? Are you crying?

    -Is our host crying?

I’m Not Little, overwhelmed by gratitude and emotion, began to sniffle.

Until now, I’m Not Little had felt her emotions becoming increasingly barren and dry while broadcasting.

But after becoming a fan of this person called Sir Dominic, how wonderfully her life… no, her Star life had turned around.

Even the viewers who had only teased her until now were helping her like this, as if cheering her on, and she couldn’t help but be overcome with emotion.

“Everyone… thank you. Thank you. Just thank you all.”

-Huh? This isn’t what we wanted?

-We were trying to tease our host but she’s getting emotional?

    -Just type lol for real;;

The viewers were taken aback by I’m Not Little’s sincere gratitude.

Some viewers even suspected this might be a trap investigation by I’m Not Little to ban those who teased her too much, and became cautious.

However, I’m Not Little’s emotions, at least at this moment, were genuine.

And the next day, the fact that this embarrassing moment was clipped and seen by almost every Star on GachaTube, and the fact that I’m Not Little kicked her blanket repeatedly while watching that embarrassing clip, were all true as well.

    Oh dear.
