Chapter Index

As this hidden system was discovered, user reactions were quite divided.

To be more specific, it was rather complicated…

Title: The update content is better than expected?

    Author: Anonymous

    Content: [Summary image of announcement]

People keep saying it’s tough and whatnot,

But from my perspective as a newbie baby, it feels like the gap between veterans and those old geezers who can’t even stand straight is actually shrinking

To be honest, if they had proceeded without something like this

Those know-it-all veterans would have maxed out their trust from the beginning

Then they would have solved all the high-level quests and events among themselves, having a sweet time

Thanks to everyone getting trust debuffs, it prevents veterans from mindlessly getting stronger

Looking at it that way, it seems the admins put their brains to work and balanced things out in their own way

    Comments:

    -[I agree with this]

    -[It does seem that way]

-[Honestly, as the writer said, without such safety measures, things would have gone completely out of control]

    -[I acknowledge this point]

-[Veterans are pissed because their secret knowledge is gone, right?]

    -˪[Don’t feed the troll above]

    -˪[True]

-˪[‘I did the same as on the gallery, why am I getting cursed at?’]

    Title: But honestly, it’s crap

    Author: Malko

    Content: [Screaming toad]

    I’m not asking for much

They could have just written one line in the update notice saying “Please note these points” with a smiley face

They know many of us are returning players, yet they pull this kind of stunt which is really annoying

“You should have found out yourself?”

What the hell are we supposed to find out when they kidnapped us without giving us time to learn anything?

    Comments:

-[Your true feelings come out at the end]

    -[Agreed]

-[Honestly agree it’s crap, these guys have a history of leaving out update details]

-[This isn’t a stealth patch for god’s sake, does it make sense that users have to ask other users to find out what’s going on?]

-[The management does seem a bit strange]

    —————————————-

To summarize, it was about half welcoming, half opposing…

That seemed to be the general state of things.

Of course, separate from all that.

As the saying goes, “It’s painful when your neighbor buys land.”

There were those who insisted that their “neighbors” should suffer together with them, since they couldn’t be the only ones suffering…

    —————————————-

Title: I can’t be the only one suffering

    Author: Anonymous

    Content: [Trust -20 verification]

My trust keeps dropping because people say my character looks ugly

This means I’ll be the only one missing out on events

If they don’t fix this bullshit, I’m going to accept tons of quests to give other people trust debuffs too

    Comments:

    -[???]

    -[What?]

-[What’s the point of doing that?]

-˪[Dunno, I’m just doing it because I’m annoyed]

    -[This is… something]

    —————————————-

    —————————————-

Title: Wait, I just realized, if everyone accepts lots of quests, wouldn’t that slow down trust growth for everyone?

    Author: Anonymous

    Content: [Smiling toad image]

    I was thinking about it

Isn’t the criteria for applying trust growth debuffs based on the real-time quest volume of users?

So the more quests people try to complete, the lower the trust growth rate becomes for other users?

    Comments:

    -[Oh]

-[Why are you looking into that?]

-[Hahaha good, I’m going to accept all available quests right now]

-[As expected of Koreans, immediately turning on the “screw your neighbor” mode –]

    -[The level of this lol]

    -[Ugh, damn]

-[Immediately activating “kill everyone except me” mode]

-[Is this what they call the “bug spirit” or whatever?]

    —————————————-

It was truly a situation of complete chaos.

    —————————————-

Title: Would high-class trust owners with dignity care to give me an upvote?

    Author: Mona Lisa

Content: [Trust +50 verification], [Notification of additional quests for reaching Trust 50]

All you incompetent people who couldn’t manage your trust, please step aside

    You stink, yeah

Sigh, the level of these lower-class citizens

    Comments:

-[Is this the guy who made that elf do lewd things with that face?]

-[You bastard, just wait and see]

-[Wow, I’m so jealous of your trust level]

-[How did you already stack up to Trust 50? I’m seriously jealous]

    -[Trust 50 deserves an upvote]

    —————————————-

Meanwhile, those who had already reached a certain level of trust and had no problems gaining points continued to post verification, adding fuel to the already chaotic gallery.

But those of us lurking in the gallery chat, as well as the 110,000+ users who were dragged into this game, all suspected the same thing…

The price for such excessive deception is always nothing short of devastating.

    —————————————-

Title: Looking for people to hunt down that lying bastard

    Author: Raksha

Content: [Image for archiving the deceptive post]

How dare that bastard try to deceive us

Looking for people to raid this guy’s base together

You can just deal damage from behind

Just need to beat that guy up a bit

    Comments:

    -[Wait a moment]

-[When you lie and the #2 ranked player comes after you with a sharpened knife, desperately calling ‘Time out’]

-[Isn’t it his fault for practically begging for PVP in the middle of an event?]

    -˪[Agreed]

    -[I’m coming too]

    -[Executing deceivers… is our wish]

    -[Watch over us, Elsaber!]

    —————————————-

    “Haha, what a mess.”

Seeing everyone going crazy over “trust,” I couldn’t help but shake my head.

After all, the key point of this event wasn’t trust at all, but simply gaining reward points through quests.

As I displayed this smooth and relaxed attitude, Jessica, who had finished supporting Ignis and was now watching me, expressed her doubt.

“Commander, doesn’t higher trust mean you get more points from quests?”

    “Hmm.”

“And if you process a lot of points that way, your trust naturally increases through quests… so it seems unnecessary to distinguish between the two.”

I clicked my tongue at Jessica’s newbie-like comment and wagged my finger.

“My, my, Jessica is such a baby.”

    “…Excuse me?”

    “I’ll explain, so listen carefully.”

    “Oh, yes.”

I noticed a slight crack in Jessica’s expression at my gesture.

But I was in a truly confident state, so I brought up the command console with a nonchalant expression and said:

“It’s nothing complicated. To be frank, there’s no need to bother with high-level quests in events like this.”

    “…What? What do you mean?”

Seeing her confused look, I brought up one of the existing quest windows and continued my explanation.

“Let me be straightforward since my words seem to be getting misinterpreted.”

    “Okay.”

“When the admins hold events like this supposedly to accommodate newbies, the ‘points’ you get from doing 10 so-called ‘low-level quests’ are actually better than the ‘points’ you get from doing ‘high-level quests’.”

After hearing my explanation, Jessica seemed to be calculating in her head for a moment.

Eventually, she made a face that seemed to ask what kind of absurd structure that was.

And that expression was absolutely filled with the question of how such “game management” could possibly exist.

While I nodded in agreement with Jessica’s inner thoughts, showing appropriate affirmation,

At the same time, I was calmly reciting just one line to myself:

‘That’s why people call it a crappy game and players keep leaving.’

Of course, there were countless other ways in which the game management was a complete mess.

But now wasn’t the time to criticize this crappy-yet-godly game I was possessing, so I decided to go to Oxianor to get a new quest instead.
