Ch.84Ep.84 Judgment
by fnovelpia
A month had passed since Radios and Kraud collapsed.
Contrary to expectations that they would regain consciousness soon, their eyes remained firmly shut.
Brina repeatedly checked Kraud’s magic formula for any abnormalities.
Arsia even devoted herself to caring for Radios with the utmost attention.
Yet despite their normal pulse rates and steady brain waves, their eyes wouldn’t open.
Another issue was the revelation that Rin and Brina were the same person.
Arsia was shocked enough to faint, but with more pressing matters at hand, she simply accepted it and moved on.
“It feels like the calm before the storm.”
“Pardon?”
“This situation. Despite everything spiraling into chaos, it’s strangely peaceful…”
Poseidon clicked her tongue, lamenting the absence of their two main forces.
Communication with Olympus had been cut off long ago.
They couldn’t determine what the Outer Gods were planning, nor could they contact the Olympian gods in Erebos.
If they were suddenly attacked, they would be in serious trouble.
“How many active Outer God cults remain in Kadinant?”
“The Guardian Spirits have been moving gradually and successfully eliminated most cults. Only the Witch’s and the Resident’s cults remain.”
Arsia promptly answered Poseidon’s question.
Currently in Kadinant, the Outer God cults were retreating bit by bit in the face of the Guardian Spirits’ tremendous momentum.
The Guardian Spirits had already succeeded in reclaiming territories in all cardinal directions except Midret.
After successive retreats, only the cults of Idra and Yog-Sothoth remained among the Outer God cults.
“Jirva D’Black. I don’t think he’s the type of talent that should be wasted in the Guardian Spirits.”
“Wasn’t he the one who awakened his Order in record time?”
“Yes. And this is just speculation… but they say his soul carries the scent of Egypt.”
“Is that so?”
Egypt was also one of the worlds that fell to the Outer God cults.
Just as Arsia obtained Odin’s lost eye, Egypt must have left behind some contingency.
And if that contingency was soul reincarnation… it could become a valuable asset.
“For soul-related matters, it would be either Anubis or Set… Given how quickly he awakened his Order, it must be Set.”
“Should I call for him?”
“The Guardian Spirits aren’t the priority right now. If we want to strengthen our forces even slightly, we need to gather those with Orders.”
In that sense, the goblins were tremendous assets, but they were far from enough compared to the elite forces of the Outer Gods.
Those with Orders wouldn’t be treated as mere baggage in war, so they needed to be summoned and trained immediately.
But at that moment.
BOOM!!
“An attack?!”
“Wait! That’s a familiar magical energy!”
When something crashed down, Poseidon summoned Triaina and prepared to attack.
But Arsia stopped her, sensing a familiar presence.
“Cough! Urgh…”
“You…!”
The woman who appeared was someone Arsia knew well.
However, she was also someone who shouldn’t exist here.
“V-Veichel? How are you alive–“
“Radios… I must tell Radios…”
“Veichel! Wake up, Veichel!!”
She collapsed before finishing her words.
Arsia was so startled by the unexpected situation that she couldn’t decide what to do.
Veichel was supposed to be dead, with Radios himself having stabbed her heart.
Yet here she was, alive?
‘What’s going on? A trap? And what does she need to tell the boss?’
All sorts of thoughts swirled in her mind, but ultimately Arsia decided to treat her wounds.
She guessed that since Radios had given Veichel a proper funeral, their relationship must have been mended.
“Please call for Brina. Treatment takes priority for now.”
Whatever she wanted to convey, they would ask after treating her.
**********
[This one doesn’t seem like an ally.]
“What?”
[I know because I’m Radios’s familiar. This person and Radios fought in Yog-Sothoth’s domain. Over ideological differences.]
Arsia stopped treating Veichel upon hearing Namgung Ihyun’s shocking words.
Radios’s enemy came covered in blood to deliver a message to him?
And Arsia, unaware of the circumstances, had been treating her.
Since this was essentially treating an enemy, Arsia instinctively activated her precognition.
Without needing to see the future in detail, she checked what level of threat would approach if she continued the treatment.
The result was green, while not treating her showed red.
This meant that whatever information Veichel wanted to convey was likely significant.
“I’ll continue treating her. And I need to hear directly what happened.”
[Are you sure? What if she suddenly attacks?]
“No matter how strong Veichel has become, we have over 100 beings with Orders here. And with Poseidon present, she wouldn’t dare act recklessly.”
Veichel had something to tell them and had forced her way into the goblin village despite her injuries.
This showed her determination to deliver her message to him, even at the risk of her life.
“So I’ll focus on the treatment. You prepare for battle just in case.”
[Leave it to me.]
With those words, Arsia resumed the treatment, and soon Rin joined to help heal Veichel.
About 30 minutes later.
“Mmm…”
Veichel groaned and stirred, then suddenly opened her eyes and sat up.
Immediately.
“Stop right there. Move and you die.”
“Well, that’s quite the welcome.”
Poseidon bound her arms with the trident, while Brina’s blood mist restrained her legs.
Elysse’s scythe was pointed at Veichel’s neck, and Arsia and Namgung Ihyun were ready to cast spells if necessary.
Seeing them all react so intensely to just one person waking up, Veichel let out a hollow laugh.
“Radios, that bastard, seems to have good comrades.”
“I won’t ask how you’re alive. But, Veichel, what did you want to tell the boss?”
“Don’t beat around the bush. The Radios I know wouldn’t be absent from a place like this. Which means he’s currently unable to move, right?”
“We asked the question first. Please answer.”
When Veichel tried to probe the situation, Elysse lightly cut her skin with the scythe.
“How rude. A mere Underworld messenger dares to…”
“I said move and you die, Veichel Breate.”
When she showed signs of releasing magical energy, Poseidon raised her divine order to overwhelm her.
Knowing it was too early to face Poseidon, Veichel endured Elysse’s action.
“I have nothing to say to you. I’ll talk to Radios.”
“I’ll relay it to him. So tell me.”
“How can I trust you? I don’t want to tell someone like you, the so-called… pfft, Best Guardian. You’ll just weigh the options.”
Veichel knew what kind of person Arsia was.
Someone who pretended to be kind on the outside but was cunning inside.
But Arsia wasn’t affected.
“Really? Do you think someone wouldn’t properly relay a message to their lover?”
“Lover…?”
Veichel tilted her head at her words, then realized the meaning and smirked.
Ah, so they became lovers.
“Well, congratulations. The one who kept following Radios around finally won him over.”
“Thanks. It’s because you died once that we were able to confirm our feelings for each other.”
“…”
Why?
She thought she had resolved all her feelings for Radios, so why was she feeling jealousy?
But Veichel pushed aside these thoughts and repeated her request.
“Call Radios. I want to talk to him alone.”
“I told you, that’s not possible. He’s much busier than you think.”
“Don’t lie. I know he’s here, so why aren’t you showing him? Don’t tell me… you’re using him as a tool?”
“How dare you!”
When Arsia, provoked by the word “tool,” was about to use magic, Poseidon raised her hand to stop her.
“Can’t you tell me either?”
“Of course not. You know I hate the Olympian gods, right?”
“I’ve separated from them. If I belong anywhere, it would be with Kadinant’s Guardian Spirits.”
“Ha! Don’t bullshit me! No matter how much you’ve turned your back on Olympus, you’re still just a god!”
Veichel gritted her teeth as she looked at Poseidon’s detestable face.
“Gods should disappear from this world. Only a world that returns to humans, only humans, can be peaceful.”
“Your ideology is flawed. I don’t want to assert divine authority, but humans were born from gods. Do you intend to go against that?”
“Of course! You also killed your father Cronos and took his throne, so where do you get off with such sophistry?!”
Veichel spat out her words with venom.
Seeing her overly sensitive reaction, Poseidon could roughly guess the situation.
“That tattoo. It’s consuming you.”
“Don’t make me laugh. I know myself best. I’m not someone who would crumble because of a mere tattoo!”
“You don’t know. You don’t know its true nature.”
“No, I do! I know who put this tattoo on me!”
Veichel shouted at Poseidon, who was belittling her abilities.
“Chaos, the origin of Olympus! I even know that the Food Spirit is a skill created by that bastard!”
