Ch.83Ep.83 God of Death and Time
by fnovelpia
“Not exactly a scene I want to see…”
Poseidon turned her gaze toward Cronos, who was cornered, after recovering her full condition.
No matter how terrible the relationship between father and son had become, to the point of severing ties.
Honestly, seeing him being violated before her eyes, how could she not feel anything?
But Poseidon cut off even those emotions completely and began reusing her magic formula.
“I don’t need assistance. It’s all over anyway from the moment Azathoth started using Radios’ body.”
Poseidon stopped Brina, who was rolling up her sleeves to help, and continued drawing her magic formula.
Although she knew vaguely that there was power beyond divine order.
She never dreamed that Azathoth, in an incomplete state, would corner Cronos like this.
Of course, Cronos wasn’t in normal condition either, but even taking that into account, it was still the same.
[Damn it all!]
[It should be clear that resistance will only harm you, so come down from there now.]
[I won’t let it end like this! I absolutely…!]
Cannot lose. He must fully resurrect here and revive Olympus.
That was his mission and the very reason he had come back in this roundabout way.
[Don’t interfere with me!!]
As Cronos swung Skytē with all his might, the aura of death rushed toward Azathoth from all directions.
However, he used the God-Destroying Light Sword with a face that showed he had already anticipated this.
Swish!
He nullified Cronos’s attack by cutting through the formless energy containing the divine order of death.
It didn’t end there.
[Piercing Spear of Penetration.]
[..!]
The Piercing Spear of Penetration, imbued with Azathoth’s magical power, rushed toward Cronos’s heart.
Facing this strike that truly aimed to kill him, he panicked greatly and blocked the spear with both arms.
Clang!
[Argh!]
[I still have one more left.]
However, it was impossible to completely deflect the spear filled with dense magical power.
What awaited him was Azathoth’s divine order—the divine order of devouring.
Crash!
[Aaaaargh!! How dare! How daaaare!]
[Just stay still and be eaten. That’s the appropriate level for you.]
[I am the God King Cronos! I castrated Uranus and newly established the throne of Olympus—]
[That’s none of my business.]
As Azathoth used the power of devouring, the divine order began to be absorbed from Cronos’s entire body into his.
He struggled desperately trying to resist, but it was difficult to escape from Azathoth’s restraint.
[If I just absorb like this, even that bastard Kraud won’t be able to properly handle the power!]
[So what? I only care that my apostle remains intact.]
[You, you crazy bastard…!]
Even when Cronos tried to sell out Kraud and begged him to stop the devouring, it had no effect.
Rather, Azathoth continued extracting Cronos’s divine order with a face that seemed to welcome it.
[Stop! I was wrong! So stop here! If this continues, it will really be the end!]
[You should have begged like that from the beginning. Remember the saying ‘a dropped card cannot be picked up.’]
[Aaaaargh!]
No matter what Cronos said, it didn’t work on Azathoth.
As his divine order was being extracted, an invisible force bound his entire body.
“Magic formula, thought purification.”
Finally, Poseidon succeeded in directly striking Cronos’s thought form using magic.
[Ugh!]
He let out his death throes while simultaneously vomiting blood that flowed back.
[Blegh!]
“That’s enough, Azathoth. If you devour any more, Kraud might be in a worse state than before when he returns.”
[And if I refuse?]
“I’ll stop you. With all my power.”
Boom!
As Poseidon raised her true form, watery paths with flowing cold air writhed around her.
Azathoth didn’t want to create discord with her, an ally of his apostle, so he took a step back.
[I don’t particularly want to fight with you either… but if you’ve used up the fragment, give it back.]
“What are you planning to do?”
[I need to save the owner of this body. He’s technically dead right now.]
“D-dead?!”
Arsia reacted most intensely to the news that Radios was dead.
She had been very relieved when Azathoth descended into Radios’s body.
And for good reason—possession itself should be impossible in a dead person’s body.
But Azathoth had made the impossible possible.
Just hearing that Radios was “dead” now made her heart sink.
[Are you my apostle’s lover? Don’t worry. He will survive.]
“Did he go to the Underworld? Where is the captain?”
[Not the Underworld. Not the Outer Universe, and definitely not Olympus.]
“Outer Universe? Are you referring to where the Outer Gods reside?”
[Outer space or Outer Universe, that’s what it’s called. Though I named it, so I’m not sure if they use that term.]
That’s not what’s important.
Azathoth told Arsia that he had placed Radios’s thought form in a mental world he created.
“What about his soul? Is the soul not there?”
[The soul itself hasn’t left this body. That’s why I was able to descend.]
“I see… I understand. Thank you so much for saving the captain.”
As Arsia bowed her head deeply in gratitude, Azathoth smirked.
[I wonder how long it’s been since I’ve received this kind of gratitude. Still, it wasn’t bad entertainment.]
With those words, Azathoth grabbed one divine fragment in each hand.
Not long after, his body collapsed as if it had turned into a mollusk.
Arsia quickly approached to support Radios, created a bed with magic, and laid him down.
What he needed was absolute rest.
“I’ll take care of him from here. Rin and Poseidon, please look after Kraud.”
“Understood.”
Poseidon carried Kraud into the tent, but.
Rin stood there, lost in deep thought.
‘Should I tell them or not?’
There is no goblin named Rin; in fact, Brina has been acting as a fictional character named Rin.
However, this adult form is her true form, not the child state.
The timing to explain this just wouldn’t come.
‘Should I talk about it later?’
It would get complicated with Elysse too if I revealed it here, so I’ll try to have a conversation after Radios wakes up.
**********
“Elder Gods… I never thought I’d see you all again like this.”
Yog-Sothoth, not even trying to hide his expression, caressed the ice sealing the Elder Gods with greedy hands.
“Weak… compared to the old days… too weak, all of you.”
The Elder Gods, who once radiated noble light and boasted their divine order in the distant past.
Except for Yad-Tatagg and Orix, they were all just trash stripped of their divine order.
“I’ve decided. I will devour you all and rise higher.”
He briefly considered methods to release all the Elder Gods from their seals but rejected the idea.
Nothing would be more disastrous than if they united as a team to expel Yog-Sothoth.
But did he actually have a way to break the seal?
“With this fragment… I can interfere with the sealing formula placed by Azathoth and break the seal.”
Divine Fragment: Intervention.
The last divine fragment remaining in Yog-Sothoth’s possession, and personally what he considered the most overpowered.
While the Fragment of Infinity aimed for limitless increase in combat power.
The Fragment of Intervention could be thought of as capable of altering all principles existing in the world.
“First… Shavalios. I’ll eat you first.”
Crack!
As Yog-Sothoth used the power of the fragment, the ice encasing Shavalios broke.
“Ugh! Cough! Hack! Kuhack!”
“It’s been a while, Shavalios. How does it feel to be released from the seal?”
“Yog-Sothoth? How did you—Ugh!”
“How? I’m doing this to devour you, of course.”
“Grr!! Damn it..!”
When Shavalios tried to resist, the divine order of boundaries protected Yog-Sothoth’s body.
As he tried to bring out his divine order in response.
‘I can’t feel my divine order?’
Realizing that his divine order had been stripped away due to being sealed for a long time.
He could guess what Yog-Sothoth was planning to do.
‘This bastard…! He’s planning to devour all our comrades!’
The number of Elder Gods amounts to as many as 1,000.
If Yog-Sothoth absorbed the power of all of them, surely…
‘It would be a disaster. No, even if he absorbs all that power, it’s obvious he won’t be able to handle it all—’
Crack.
Before Shavalios could complete his thought.
Yog-Sothoth broke his neck and began absorbing all the magical power left in him.
To be precise, using the divine order of boundaries.
He was simply placing a boundary between Shavalios’s body and magical power, then sucking in all the magic.
The efficiency was garbage compared to Azathoth’s Outer Devouring.
But Yog-Sothoth didn’t stop.
He had absorbed the magical power of all the Elder Gods except Yad-Tatagg and Orix.
“You crazy bastard! What are you doing! Even you know that power you can’t control isn’t power at all…!”
“Get out of my way, Idra. I… can do this…”
Meanwhile, as if remembering the Elder Gods, Idra appeared before Yog-Sothoth.
She had momentarily forgotten just how insane Yog-Sothoth was.
This bastard killed his own father for his greed.
She had always known he would stop at nothing to become stronger.
But who could have known he would cause such a major incident?
“Haa… damn it…”
By now, Yog-Sothoth had broken Orix’s seal and forced him into submission.
Of course, he resisted, but Yog-Sothoth, having devoured 997 Elder Gods, was strong.
Starting by forcibly placing restrictions on him, Yog-Sothoth subdued even Yad-Tatagg.
“The invasion of Olympus… resumes.”
He showed a look in his eyes reminiscent of an unstoppable hyena, desperate to use this power somehow.
