Ch.8282. Death of the Twin Sword Worm

    Finally, the war was over.

With unexpected profits from four high-rank hunters, one top-rank hunter, and a custom weapon I used in the past, I returned to my base in high spirits.

Of course, since my true capabilities had been directly exposed to humans in this process, I first bound the hunters with anti-psychic shackles and thoroughly soaked them with anesthetics before beginning my full-scale operation against humans—specifically, South Korean society.

Unfortunately for humans, the operation proceeded extremely smoothly, as I had gradually replaced people one by one until I managed to substitute over half of the National Assembly members.

I spread false rumors wildly through the yellow press, then had mainstream media subtly report on various conspiracy theories, spreading misinformation everywhere.

In the National Assembly, I formed public opinion aimed at preventing the terrible phenomenon of anti-psychic bombs being used in North Korean territory, while simultaneously—to somehow bury this incident—I unleashed a scandal I had been saving.

This real estate scandal, involving a senior opposition party member I hadn’t yet replaced, was simply put, a common redevelopment scandal.

However, the location for this redevelopment was in northern Gangwon Province, and I merely revealed that they had concealed how pathetically weak the Gangwon front’s defenses were, fearing property values would drop.

Quite naturally, when it was revealed that politicians had pushed citizens into mortal danger for their own benefit, public attention shifted in that direction.

Anyway. Thus, I bought myself quite a bit of time, during which I planned to brainwash and corrupt these four high-rank hunters to use them as propaganda tools and minions.

As for Yusea… I’ll talk about her later.

    ※ ※ ※

First, the initial subject I would work on was that psychic user who had a large hole punched through her chest by Anitheus.

Though her full-body suit and implants gave her that decadent cyberpunk vibe, her small frame and youthful face didn’t evoke any sense of sensuality.

Anyway, although artificial organs had been implanted in the hole in her chest… the truth was, she had been left with a spear wound for several minutes and was practically half-dead.

Thanks to being a psychic user, her brain functions partially remained and her soul hadn’t completely departed, so I barely managed to restore her, but she was indeed in the most critical condition among the four.

Therefore, I regretfully planned to subject her to quite horrific and complex modifications to use her at full capacity.

First, I separated the implants that weren’t involved in maintaining her life and sense of self.

‘Does she have some kind of doll fetish?’

I genuinely wondered this, as she had not only replaced all her limbs with prosthetic arms and legs resembling ball-jointed dolls but had also implanted all sorts of devices throughout her body.

Beyond the basic implants that increased psychic conductivity but turned her skin a light green as a side effect, she had even replaced her eyes with ones that had black backgrounds and green irises.

However, since the organs I would create directly would certainly be far superior to these mechanical parts, I removed her limbs and separated some implants before proceeding to the next step.

First, naturally, was a thought-control implant made of nano-spirit inserted into her spine, containing functions for thought acceleration and increased reflexes.

After installing this, which would allow her to control various mechanical equipment with mere thoughts, I began the full-scale modification.

In place of the removed ball-jointed limbs, I summoned mythril particles possessed by nano-spirits—mythril nanomachines—to gradually construct arms and legs.

I connected wires over the frame that served as the skeleton, and layered thin mythril fibers over those wires to form the shape of arms.

Over the mass of mythril fibers, I covered it with thin mythril plates with a chain mail-like texture and design to serve as inner armor and skin substitute, and finally completed it by adding a mythril outer shell on top.

The structure was borrowed from the machine angel used by the Pyongyang Hive Mind, but this alone was insufficient.

Since things had come to this, I decided to place her inside a giant armor to use her as both a power source and AI.

The giant armor, with a structure similar to the Hul■buster from the Ma■ movies, was primarily intended to supplement her lacking close combat abilities.

Standing about 12 meters tall, it was classified as a large-type giant armor called Titan Armor.

Inside the body based on adamantium-plasteel alloy, mythril psychic-specific wires extended throughout, and the overall body shape was thick and sturdy—particularly with developed shoulders.

The weapons directly mounted on the machine were limited to a 20-round missile pod installed on the shoulder and 2-round energy machine guns on the backs of both hands.

Instead, I gave this Titan Armor a super-sized charge hammer, a rechargeable striking weapon, and a Titan Armor plasma pistol (though called a pistol, it was essentially a tank cannon).

Therefore, with close combat using these weapons plus firepower utilizing her own psychic abilities, I could confidently say she would overwhelm medium to large high-rank monsters.

Anyway, with the first subject complete, the next modification target was the male hunter who used dual swords… frankly speaking, the dual-sword user I despised the most.

Dual swords. I can’t deny they have their romance and coolness, but in games, dual swords were considered such garbage that they seemed hated by developers, becoming synonymous with trolling.

For damage, using a greatsword was far superior, and if you really wanted dual weapons, there were superior alternatives like dual axes that dealt better damage and had dedicated skills.

The only advantage was being able to use two one-handed sword skills simultaneously with both swords… but sword-shield or sword-pistol combinations could do the same, and those other combinations were actually more efficient.

A one-handed sword and shield setup might have slightly less tanking ability than a one-handed mace and shield, but it could deal damage too, and as for the sword and pistol combination—wasn’t that the default weapon setup for the protagonist in the first game? Need I say more?

They forcibly raised the originally inefficient sword-pistol combination to tier 1.5 by cramming it with all sorts of specialized skills, so dual swords, which weren’t even tier 2 but down at tier 4 (avoid at all costs), were… not worth mentioning.

So naturally, whenever I saw dual swords, I was reminded of those trolls I encountered countless times in automatic raid party finders.

Anyway, while dual swords were treated as absolute garbage in games… they weren’t treated any better in this world that had become reality.

Whether against monsters or humans, they offered nothing except burst damage, and even that was questionable—so according to public opinion, this guy was barely considered a high-rank hunter.

‘Why would you use something like dual swords…’

Therefore, feeling somewhat sorry for him, I undertook several remedial measures.

Naturally, I started by implanting a control implant in his spine and various auxiliary devices throughout his body, but the differences began here.

To maintain his identity as a dual-sword user while making him stronger, I first attached an additional pair of arms made from monster genes to his shoulders.

These monster arms had forearms that were entirely blades, long enough for the tips to touch the ground, which would solve all his problems.

Two swords might be mediocre, but doubling that to four would make him at least somewhat superior to the average monster in close combat and combo attacks.

After completing this dual-dual sword wielder’s modification, I quickly modified the pitiful spear user who didn’t even get a single line in the previous chapter.

With excellent close-range combat abilities using a spear and mid-range control using psychic lightning, he had a solid setup for mid-to-close range combat, making it awkward to modify him—

‘Hmm… you really don’t have any connection with screen time, do you?’

After finishing with just basic spec improvements, I finally moved on to modifying the unique hunter who used a hammer made from an entire monster skull.

‘I’ve been missing someone like you, this is perfect!’

I intended to transform his very cells into those of a monster, making him subservient to me like Seri.
