Ch. 82 MtF – Chapter 82
by AfuhfuihgsChapter 82
**Returning to Everyday Life**
Eight weeks, then another eight, and finally four more weeks on top of that—I was finally discharged from the hospital.
Toya had been worried, asking if we shouldn’t monitor my condition a little longer, but the doctor’s firm, “You’ve completely recovered. You may go home,” worked wonders.
Really, I kept telling her that no one knows my body better than me, but she just worries way too much.
As Toya glanced over at me, I chuckled and tugged on her sleeve.
“What’s wrong, Yeoreum?”
“…I think my leg muscles have atrophied from lying down so much.”
“So you want me to carry you, huh?”
“Just for today! I’ll start walking again from tomorrow. Gotta be healthy to stay healthy, right?”
I hadn’t even taken a few steps before my legs started to ache.
Ugh, yeah, no way I’m walking today.
With the resolution to start walking bit by bit from home, I decided to indulge myself a little.
It was kind of embarrassing to be acting spoiled at my age—but well, Toya seemed to like it, so I guess it’s fine?
“By the way, how’s Koyuki?”
“Aren’t you the one who would just know without asking?”
“Well, good news always sounds better coming from someone else.”
Maybe there really is some kind of connection between twins.
Even though I hadn’t seen her since the surgery, I could faintly feel that Koyuki was getting better.
It was almost like a sixth sense or something supernatural.
Still, I preferred hearing about it from someone else.
It just feels nicer hearing things spoken aloud rather than just assuming, y’know?
“Besides, I’m still pretty new to being a twin.”
I mean, I’ve been a twin since birth, sure, but I only met her about six months ago.
Wait, has it really been almost six months already? Time flies.
Which means… I’ve been on break that whole time.
A cold sweat trickled down my back at the violent flow of time.
‘W-Well, I did do a bunch of voice lives, so maybe it’s fine…?’
I wasn’t sure how the listeners would react, but since I was discharged today, I was already planning to stream.
Honestly, the hardest part of being hospitalized was not being able to stream.
I seriously don’t know how I survived it this long. I’ve got withdrawal symptoms, seriously.
Look, even my hands are shaking right now!
“Yeoreum, are you okay?”
“Hm? Of course I’m fine.”
“Then why is your body shaking?”
“Because I’m so excited to stream!”
As I gave a little shiver, Toya immediately took off her jacket and wrapped it around me.
Uh, it’s not even that cold though?
Still, when I earnestly brought up the idea of streaming, Toya gave me a weird look.
Maybe it was a bit much to want to stream right after being discharged?
No, no—knowing Toya, I was sure it was something else.
“So how about a collab stream?”
“Totally down!”
Knew it.
No way I’d do my comeback stream solo, after all.
If I wanted to shake off the rust from not streaming in a while, the best way was to do it with someone experienced.
…Okay, the way I’m saying that kinda makes it sound like I’m using Toya.
But hey, if it’s fun for both of us, who cares, right?
—
“Kontomo! Hope you’re all having a great day!”
—Kontomo!
—Kontomo!
—Toya’s energy is off the charts today LOL
—Something good happen or what?
—I mean, isn’t it obvious? LOL
—LMAO
—What, did Nacchan get discharged or something?
…This is why sharp listeners are scary.
Toya wears her heart on her sleeve, and today her energy was so high that everyone instantly picked up on it.
I couldn’t help but wonder if she liked me _too_ much.
The affection in her glances was so heavy it felt like it could tip me over.
If I were the protagonist of a romcom, I probably wouldn’t notice it at all.
‘No, wait, even _they_ would catch on at this point…’
“Con-Natsu~ Yes, hello everyone! I’m so happy to see you all again!”
—Nacchan!!
—We missed you so much…
—You’re late, Nacchan LOL
—Toya was so gloomy without you, glad to see you back LOL
—Lowest Toya energy since Yeoreum disappeared LOL
—Congrats on your discharge, Nacchan!
—Glad to see you healthy again!
Even though it was Toya’s stream, a lot of my fans were there too. As soon as my voice came through, donations poured in.
They even reminded Toya that this was for Natsu.
“I’d love to jump into a game right away, but—since today is special, I’ll sing instead!”
“…Toya, are _you_ the one who’s sick now?”
Now that I was discharged, was Toya the one acting weird?
She was saying all this strange stuff, and I got worried, so I sat up.
I pressed my forehead to hers to check her temperature.
Hmm… doesn’t feel like she has a fever.
Tilting my head in curiosity, I looked at her—only to see her turn away, ears bright red.
“Toya, are you embarrassed?”
“W-What?! No!”
“But I just did what _you_ always do, y’know?”
“…I do that?”
“You didn’t even realize?!”
Feeding me with “aah~” sounds, holding my hand when I walked, carrying me the second my breathing got the slightest bit heavy…
Even thinking back now, it was _super_ embarrassing.
If I had been the same size as Toya, people would definitely have mistaken us for a couple.
No exaggeration—_seriously_.
—LOL
—I mean, sometimes they do act more like a couple than friends LOL
—I fully support TonaNatsu
—Lately their relationship seems way deeper, right? LOL
—Toya awakened something while taking care of Nacchan…
—Though Toya was always like this, tbh LOL
—Then maybe _Nacchan_ is the one who awakened?
“…It’s not like I suddenly awakened to anything, or whatever.”
I looked away, and Toya sighed like she was disappointed.
What’s there to be disappointed about, you silly fox.
I playfully patted the back of Toya’s hand—_smack smack_—and she giggled.
Why are you _happy_ while getting smacked?
“Anyway! Let’s get to the singing!”
“Wooooow…”
“Nacchan! If you’re gonna cheer, do it properly!”
“WOOO!!”
I raised my arms and gave a half-hearted shout.
Toya gave me that “you tried” look but smiled warmly anyway, then cleared her throat.
Come to think of it, it’s been nearly half a year since I heard Toya sing.
I clapped with genuine excitement.
“All right! First song, here we go!”
As Toya’s voice rang out, the music began to play.
Really, it was such a happy day.
—
**[Why is Toya so hyped today?]**
[(Clip of “Con-Natsu~” from the stream)]
**“Well duh, Natsu got discharged LOL”**
—Hail to the return of our goddess.
—Truly, we welcome back our queen.
—Ichinose Natsu, my light, my hope, my seasoning, me.
—Why are there so many fanatics here?
—Natsu is literally ‘god.’
—At this point, it’s basically a religion.
—Tbh, even while hospitalized, she did enough voice lives to keep us fed LOL
—Respect to Natsu for streaming _while_ sick.
—Now that Natsu’s back, Toya’s energy is normal again LOL
—Just when I was getting used to mellow Toya…
—Give me back the time I spent adjusting!
—(Natsu I’m Sorry for Getting Sick sticker)
—(Natsu I’m Sorry for Getting Sick sticker)
**[‘GOD’]**
[(Fanart of Ichinose Natsu in a majestic black-and-white pose)]
**“GOD YEOREUM.”**
—Today, I acknowledge her greatness.
—I used to hate Korean VTubers, but after watching this Toya collab, I accept Natsu.
—Call her _Natsu-sama_, you heathen.
—(Natsu Divine Form sticker)
—Worship the great Yeoreum.
—Bow to the goddess Yeoreum.
—Honestly, can we make her get discharged once a week?
—Genius idea.
—(Natsu I’m Sorry for Getting Sick sticker)
—Blessed be your suffering, Ichinose Natsu…
—You guys are seriously evil LOL
**[Natsu humming is too cute.]**
[(Clip of Natsu humming and swaying during Toya’s song)]
—So cute swaying to the beat and humming, fr
—If only she could actually sing too
—She _can_ sing, she just _won’t_
—Wait, didn’t she get cured during her hospital stay? If so, maybe she _can_ sing now
—Nah, asthma isn’t curable… and apparently that’s not why she was hospitalized
—For real?
—Yeah, she said so during a voice live
—So what was it then? Something worse than asthma?
—Apparently she’s just chronically ill from birth
—Even just humming, she outshines most VTubers ^pow^
—Toya debuted before Natsu but still feels like the sidekick…
—Is Toya just her buffed-up Void now? LOL
—Imagine if Natsu just casually hums and gains 10k subs in a day
