Ch.76Chapter 10. My Savior Who Came to Ruin You (5)

The next morning.
After packing my belongings, cleaning my weapons, and taking a shower, I began my enjoyable shopping trip.
Camilla used the cash we had collected to buy various necessary items.
Water purification filters, basic medicines, and even nail clippers. Small things that are hard to find when you need them, and too troublesome to make yourself. She also bought clothes for disguises and new glasses.
Meanwhile, I received an explanation about our newly acquired vehicle. I had thought getting a car would be the most difficult part, but I was surprised at how easily it was resolved.
The vehicle listing itself was available on a trading app. The problem was that with yesterday’s chaos in Hampton City, there was no guarantee that today would be any safer.
So Camilla and I called the desk. We explained the situation to Fernando and asked if there was a safe place to make the transaction. He immediately asked this question:
“Do you have any preferred vehicle type or brand?”
I instinctively thought of the car I drove yesterday.
“Um, an off-road vehicle would be nice. Something sturdy. Something similar to the 14th Military Police operational vehicle would be sufficient.”
While I was at it, I decided to push a bit further.
“…And it would be great if it were powerful enough to tow a small trailer.”
Thirty minutes later, the desk called back.
“The car is ready. Would you like to see it?”
“What? Really?”
I couldn’t believe it. I rushed to the underground parking garage in one go.
There stood a vehicle as large as a rhinoceros. A matte black Super Duty pickup truck. But it had all sorts of additions.
“Are those tire covers actually armor plating?”
It wasn’t an armored vehicle, but it had side skirts next to the tires. Fernando tapped on the window with his usual calm but sly voice.
“The windows are bulletproof too, and the doors have special reinforcements. The top speed and acceleration are slightly reduced, but unless you’re planning to race, it shouldn’t be a problem.”
“Um, how much would the price—”
“It’s a token of appreciation from the Continental’s manager, so you can just take it.”
“What?”
I was startled by his nonchalant statement, and then startled again by the fact that Fernando seemed as surprised as I was.
“…Your companion didn’t mention anything?”
Camilla? Why suddenly Camilla? Noticing my expression, Fernando smiled.
“If it weren’t for her, the Continental would have been breached. This was the first disaster of this magnitude we’ve experienced.
The manager decided that we should show our sincerity in return. In fact, compared to the losses we could have suffered yesterday, this is nothing.”
So that’s it.
We hadn’t brought many rifle rounds. Yet there was an unusually large amount of gunpowder residue in the guns, requiring a long time to clean them.
I thought it might be due to poor quality ammunition, but it turns out Camilla had been supporting the hotel and receiving ammunition in return.
She must have given various instructions using the room phone, which allowed the hotel to defend itself systematically.
“The manager gladly offered one of our spare vehicles. Being the Continental manager’s car, I need not mention its performance and safety.”
The handover of the vehicle was completed with a handshake.
“I hope we can maintain a good partnership going forward, Mr. Caesar.”
I left the car for now and went back to our hotel room. When I told Camilla about it, she seemed a bit embarrassed.
“…I just gave them a little advice because their defense was somewhat clumsy. Shot a few zombies approaching from blind spots. That’s all, but the reward is generous.”
“You did a good thing. But Camilla, didn’t you dislike this place?”
“I do. Still do. But that doesn’t mean people should turn into zombies. Also…”
Camilla looked at me with a smile and added:
“You came back unharmed. That’s enough for me.”
She said it so sweetly that I patted her bottom. Come to think of it, she seemed to say something different yesterday, but yesterday was yesterday and today is today, so it doesn’t matter.
“So did you buy a lot of things?”
“Yes, focusing on necessities, hygiene products, and survival tools. I chose things we missed having while we were out there. Johan, I was thinking, what if we go back and forth to the city for a while to get what we need, and gradually replace things?”
I agree with that opinion. I don’t like just sitting in the city, but there’s also no need to continue living uncomfortably out there.
It would be better to salvage decent items from unprotected zones, sell them in the city, then purchase good equipment to increase our self-sufficiency.
Of course, for that to work, maintaining a good relationship with our “business partner” is the priority.
“I’ll call you, then.”
“Okay.”

Leticia’s apartment.
Her face glowed, perhaps from having slept well after a long time. The tension in her body had eased, her headache had completely disappeared, and she felt refreshed.
But there was something even better. Excitement.
“Should I wear this? Or this?”
With all the curtains drawn, Leticia tried on various outfits in front of the full-length mirror. She had tossed her combat boots and military uniform into a corner.
‘My man is coming.’
A late reply had arrived in the morning. An apology for falling asleep from exhaustion the night before, and a message saying how much fun he had yesterday.
– Sorry for the late reply. As an apology, I’d like to give you some of the alcohol I brought. Can we meet today? Should we meet in Zone 13?
As soon as she saw the message, Leticia immediately replied.
– No, all zones outside the safe area are sealed off because of what happened yesterday. We’ve been asked to refrain from moving around for a while.
– What should we do then?
What else? Leticia hurriedly typed her reply. Her fingertips kept trembling, causing too many typos, so she had to delete and rewrite several times.
– Why don’t you just come to my place? That would be faster. It’s in Safe Zone 4, and if you tell me your vehicle number and model, I’ll arrange for you to pass through the gate right away.
She thought it might be too bold, but surprisingly, the answer came quickly.
– Alright, I’ll do that. But I can only stay for a short time since I need to drop this off… I’m coming with my colleague.
“Ah.”
That was a bit disappointing.
But considering her “dating coach’s” advice, it wasn’t incomprehensible.
‘If the first meeting went well, it’s good to have a bit of a gap. If you must meet the next day, it’s good to leave some longing.’
Leticia was immersed in happiness.
‘Maybe it wasn’t just me who was interested. This man clearly has feelings for me too. He’s following the dating coach’s advice exactly! Hmm. Leticia, remember that being too clingy turns people off. You need to accept this boldly but with dignity.’
Having made up her mind, Leticia replied that it was fine, and Caesar sent her his vehicle number and model. Quite an expensive car.
‘Could he be involved in dangerous or illegal activities?’
She worried a bit, but being an elite, Leticia thought differently.
‘If he is that kind of person, I’ll help him break away from it. I can help him make an honest living. If worst comes to worst, I could even support him.
But I shouldn’t just give everything away. I should meet him more, and if I’m convinced he’s a good person… I’ll ask him to live together. Of course, maintaining premarital chastity…’
Having made her plans, Leticia called the gate using her work phone.
– Yes, loyalty.
“Put your senior officer on… Oh, it’s you. This is the 8th Special Task Force Intelligence Officer. Could you let the vehicle I’m about to mention pass through without inspection?
Reason? Do I really need to specify? Just record it as ‘necessary for duty.’ The guard captain receiving this call, you’re from the 3rd Battalion, right? I’ll remember that. Yes, thank you.”
The security system had been tightened a bit due to yesterday’s disturbance. If Caesar had come without knowing this, he would certainly have been in trouble. But Leticia didn’t want to reveal that she was a “soldier.”
She just wanted him to see her as she was… not as a soldier, but as a woman.
And now.
Leticia was trying on pretty clothes she had bought before.
“No, this looks too trashy. This makes me look too fat. This one… ugh, why do I have so few clothes?”
Nothing seemed right. Leticia finally decided to seek advice from her “dating coach.” She quickly flipped through the pages until she found the section on “Captivating Hearts with Subtle Elegance That Appears Effortless.”
An ‘off-shoulder knit dress’ caught her eye.
It would expose just one shoulder showing only a bra strap, while the rest would be tightly covered, but the clingy nature of the knit would subtly accentuate her figure. A seductive method that gives hints while fully clothed.
“Ah, right! I bought this dress too!”
Leticia hurriedly changed her underwear first. It was a sapphire-colored set with black lace. He said he would just drop by briefly, but you never know how things might turn out.
Opening the drawer, she found a neatly folded gray knit dress. The material was soft and stretchy, so it shouldn’t be uncomfortable. She happily put it on, thinking she had bought this dress for this very occasion.
“…Huh?”
Something felt off. It had fit quite comfortably when she bought it, but for some reason, it felt tight now. Wondering ‘What’s going on?’ she looked in the mirror.
“…I’m, I’m ruined…!”
Leticia isn’t overweight. She’s closer to having a magically voluptuous figure. Moderately large breasts, a slender waist, and large, firm buttocks.
Repeated night shifts and overnight duties had slightly thrown off her body’s balance, and while her slender waist remained the same, her buttocks, breasts, and thighs had gained a bit more flesh.
Her buttocks, which were already large and a source of insecurity, now looked even more prominent.
As a result, the slightly short dress had rolled up to mid-thigh. If she wasn’t careful, she might end up showing everything she was wearing today.
Moreover, it clung too tightly. Rather than subtly revealing her figure, it was displaying it explicitly. The shapes of her bra and panty lines were clearly visible.
“Oh no, what should I do? An-another outfit, another outfit… eek!”
It was too late. Time had already flown by. And the room was a mess with scattered clothes. There was no time to change.
Leticia hurriedly opened the windows, put all the clothes back, dusted off surfaces, and swept the floor. Just as she was drinking a glass of water to calm her growling stomach,
Ding dong.
“…Just a moment! Oh, what should I do? What should I do?”
She quickly brushed her disheveled hair and pinned it up. The tight fit around her buttocks made it impossible to take wide steps, so her gait became cautious.
One, two, three. Leticia flung open the door. Caesar stood there with a bright smile, holding a box containing bottles of alcohol.
“Oh, welcome. Hehe…”
Caesar seemed quite taken aback.
Noticing that his gaze was directed at her exposed shoulder and bra strap, Leticia casually brushed her hair behind her ear, revealing her shoulder even more.
“Hello, Leti.”
Behind Caesar was a “rhinoceros-sized” pickup truck with its engine running. In the driver’s seat sat someone in a black brimmed hat and brown leather jacket… man? woman?
It was a rather delicate-looking person, but with dark sunglasses and the hat pulled down low, it was hard to determine their gender.
The person in the driver’s seat, presumably Caesar’s “colleague,” looked in her direction.
‘What’s this?’
Leticia felt a slight sense of discomfort.
Very briefly, what appeared on that person’s face seemed close to hostility. Familiar to Leticia, who had been reading people since childhood—a face of contempt, anger, and jealousy.
‘No, that’s not all… what is it? What else was there?’
“Should I put this inside?”
At that moment, Caesar stepped into the doorway.
Leticia quickly moved aside and slammed the door shut. There was no reason to pay attention to his companion. She was just happy to see Caesar again.
“You can put it down on the floor there. I’ll organize it. Um, if you’re not busy, maybe just for a moment… would you like a cup of tea?”
Leticia spoke almost without breathing.
Fortunately, Caesar replied, “Ten minutes should be fine,” so she bustled about, putting water on to boil and taking out snacks.
Thinking the silence had gone on too long, she spoke first.
“Um, is that person outside your colleague?”
Caesar nodded.
“Yes… someone I work with.”
“Ah. Then ask them to come in. Let’s have tea together.”
Caesar went outside briefly and returned alone. The way he sat neatly on the living room sofa to avoid raising dust was quite aristocratic.
“They said thanks but no thanks. And, um, told us to have a good time.”
“Oh, I see…”
‘You really shouldn’t judge people.’
They say you can know a person by their friends. As expected of Caesar’s colleague—a likable, sensible person. Leticia felt pleased.
Just then the water boiled, so she poured it over the prepared tea and served it on a plate. She gave Caesar the coffee table and placed her own teacup on a small side table.
‘Oh, seriously. Please…!’
But she couldn’t sit still. With the slightest movement, the knit dress kept rolling up. If she wasn’t careful, it would clearly show what she was wearing underneath.
It was already showing her silhouette completely, and revealing any more detail would be too much.
Each time, Leticia would cross her legs slightly and gently pull down the hem with her hand. Her face kept flushing.
She could see Caesar’s gaze wavering.
Having practically memorized how to track a criminal’s line of sight, Leticia knew better than Caesar himself where he was looking.
“Ahem, um, Le-Leti…?”
“Yes, yes?”
“Today… you look much more beau-beautiful than yesterday. It suits you.”
Embarrassingly, he didn’t avert his gaze. He looked straight at her. Being the focus of a man’s attention wasn’t… entirely unpleasant.
“But what should we do? I think it will be difficult to contact each other going forward.”
“What?!”
Leticia screamed. She covered her mouth with both hands. The area she had been so carefully covering was momentarily exposed. His gaze, reflexively…
‘Ah… he saw it.’
Something seemed to snap. In her confusion, Leticia’s eyes fell on Caesar’s crotch. It was slightly bulging.
Inexperienced but not ignorant, she naturally knew what “that” meant.
Hiccup.
Hiccup!
But no one had ever taught her that in such a situation, she would need to cover her mouth with one hand, desperately pull down her dress with the other, and try to suppress hiccups.
‘Wh-what should I do? What should I do?’
Caesar stood up. Yet “it” neither subsided nor bent. Barely averting her gaze from that approaching thing, Leticia asked, feeling like she was malfunctioning:
“Wh-why… why contact, why…?”
Caesar’s face looked a bit dark.
“Well, actually…”
