Ch.75Chapter 10. My Savior Who Came to Ruin You (4)
by fnovelpia
“It’s hard to choose.”
“There.”
I lightly kissed her lips and gently licked off the whipped cream.
“That tickles.”
Each time, Camilla twisted her body slightly and let out a seductive moan.
The strawberry and whipped cream in her cleavage. I opened my mouth and swallowed it in one bite. Camilla wrapped her hands around my head, burying it between her breasts. As if I were a child and she were trying to nurse me. I had no choice but to nuzzle against her chest, munching on the cream and strawberries.
“Mmm. Mmm…”
Camilla seemed to be eating the cream cake with her other hand. I could hear the squelching sound of cream and the sound of her sucking on strawberries as she rolled them around in her mouth.
It was quite a while before both of us came to our senses. Camilla’s face and body were flushed red. From her neck to her cleavage, everything glistened. It was hard to tell whether it was sweat or my saliva.
Camilla stretched out both arms. With one hand, she lifted my t-shirt, and with the other, she tickled my lower abdomen.
“That woman, where did she kiss you?”
I took her hand and showed her the spot. Camilla kissed it, then rolled her tongue around and nibbled with her lips. It felt as if she was trying to tear off a layer of my skin, both sensual and stinging.
“That hurts.”
But only after leaving a mark did Camilla finally lift her head. Her lips glistened with saliva. Her eyes sparkled, and her chest rose and fell, perhaps a little excited at the thought of victory.
“Was that woman pretty?”
The truth is, I had seen Letty’s “real” appearance. The one in military uniform, dragging a metal pipe.
But if I told the already angry Camilla, “Yeah, she was quite pretty. I heard she’s an officer in the 8th Military Police Special Task Force,” well… She might take a sniper rifle and blow Letty’s head off tonight.
Moreover, those Camilla had trusted and relied on had lost their lives at the hands of the 8th Military Police Special Task Force. Even though Camilla is trying to distance herself from the Liberation Corps now, that’s clearly a different matter.
“No. She had some kind of clown makeup on and was wearing too many layers, so I couldn’t tell what she looked like. Must have been her way of disguising herself.”
…Well, that’s not a lie. Camilla chewed on her words as if displeased.
“She must have a lot to lose? Not content with living well in the safe zone, she drinks expensive alcohol to her taste and has a man wrapped around her finger? Quite resourceful, indeed.”
“Come here.”
Pretending to give in, Camilla followed my lead. I tried to take her to the sofa in the living room, but it was in such a mess that I took her to her room instead. Being an inner room, it seemed safer here.
“Don’t be angry. Really, nothing happened.”
“That’s not it. Whether something happened or not, I just hate that someone touched what’s mine. That’s what makes me angry and irritated.”
Camilla looked sulky, just like a child whose toy had been taken away. When I gently patted her back, she finally sighed reluctantly.
“…What’s more annoying is that I’m getting angry about this. I hate being conscious of it and I hate caring about it.”
It was hard to understand what she meant. Self-generating anger, or something like that?
“Why are you so angry?”
“I told you! Someone touching you…”
She stopped there and slightly moved away from me. She seemed to have lost the energy to be angry now. Instead, she muttered with her head slightly turned away.
“…It’s for the same reason you wiped off that lipstick before coming back. Because I’m conscious of it.”
My heart felt like it was stretching out with a thump. My throat went dry again. Camilla turned her head toward me, though she averted her gaze out of embarrassment.
“…But, Johan.”
“Yes.”
“But what are we…”
She stopped there and squeezed her eyes shut.
It wasn’t hard to guess what she was about to say. She was going to ask about our relationship.
Our relationship had already gone beyond simple partners. If we were just colleagues, I wouldn’t have had any reason to wipe off the lipstick, and Camilla wouldn’t have had any reason to be angry.
Perhaps we crossed the line a long time ago, and maybe we both know it. But…
Whether we’re ready to acknowledge it is a different matter. Just like how “mine” and “should be mine” are different.
Is it okay to go further?
I gently held Camilla’s hand, just like when words were difficult. But Camilla pulled her hand away.
“…We communicate really well like this.”
“You mean physically?”
Camilla nodded. What happened at the table earlier was clearly a gesture of welcome and relief. That’s how I understood it. Camilla probably wanted to express that too. Suddenly, I became curious.
“Camilla. Do you think the same as me?”
Instead of answering, Camilla got up and turned off the lights in the living room. Standing at the doorway, she looked at me silently, then shook her head and turned off the room light.
The red light of the CCTV flickered. I had heard about it before entering the hotel. This hotel had also been attacked by zombie bird flocks, so all surveillance equipment was operating in case there were infected people.
But Camilla, as if it didn’t matter since she wasn’t undressing, lay down on the bed, holding me close.
Perhaps because we were both wearing thin clothes, the changes in our bodies were distinctly felt. I tried to pull my waist back a bit out of embarrassment, but Camilla didn’t care and pulled me closer. It seemed silly to pull away further, so I just pressed my body close to hers.
“Ah.”
Camilla squirmed as if suddenly surprised. She seemed to be gauging the size, then exhaled softly. I could feel her swollen breasts and tense abdominal muscles.
“Why are we like this?”
Camilla didn’t answer my question. She just held me close and whispered.
“Keep talking. I like feeling your body vibrate when you speak.”
We do everything physically, but verbally we deny it. A strange disharmony. I’m conscious of the CCTV at the bedside. They say it doesn’t record audio, but how do we look to the people behind that lens right now?
It’s strange. Half of me thinks it’s uncomfortable, half of me wants to stay like this forever. I reach for the blanket and cover both our bodies. Carefully, I place my hand on her waist, following the curve of her back.
Camilla didn’t mind. In fact, if my hand didn’t move, she would twist slightly as if urging me to touch her. She pushed her leg between mine, intertwining us.
I want to be closer.
Slowly, so as not to startle her, I moved my hand from her waist to her side. Camilla’s thigh pushed and pulled against mine.
I moved my hand from her side to her ribs, to her heart. Thump, thump, thump. A healthy and cute vibration. I stop there. I move my hand up, to the underside of her breast.
Camilla gently grabbed my arm. That means this far and no further. Not here. I understand and lower my hand. Camilla doesn’t. She guides my hand to her lower abdomen, pressing it there as if telling me to touch. It’s warm, no, hot.
What does this mean? It’s difficult. I want to ask. But she won’t tell me. Because she can’t speak either. Just like I’m hesitating now.
“Camilla. Do you want to stay in the city?”
“No. I hate the city. I’d like to finish our business and leave quickly. What about you?”
“Me too. I’m tired of rooms with CCTVs. I thought it would be comfortable not having to stand watch or worry about zombies, but it’s not really.”
“I’m more comfortable in unprotected areas. Even if I’m hungry, sleepy, and tired, my mind is at ease. There are plenty of zombies here and there anyway.”
“But if we’re outside, you’ll only have me for company. Won’t you get bored?”
Before answering my question, Camilla guided my hand to the inside of her thigh. Like other parts of her, it was soft, but when I pressed slightly, I could feel the firm, well-placed muscle. It squirmed invitingly whenever I touched it.
“Johan, do you get bored when you’re with me?”
“No. I meant, since it’s just the two of us.”
“That’s what makes it good.”
Camilla lightly squeezed my crotch. When I playfully moaned “Ouch,” she chuckled and pinched the back of my hand lightly.
“Sometimes, I think you look too far ahead.”
“What do you mean?”
“If we get bored or tired, we can think about it then. Right now, I enjoy being with you. Without thinking, I just find it fun, enjoyable, and happy. Don’t you?”
If I say “yes,” she’ll probably ask “just in words?” I gently found her face and kissed her lips. That should be answer enough.
“Then, shall we go back?”
“Yes. Isn’t that why you brought the solar panels and batteries?”
Come to think of it, I ended up asking a question after showing the answer. Laughing out loud, we discussed where we should go and what we should do.
The safe house below the fire station is a good place, but to use it properly, we need to finish construction and bring in generators. Above all, it can be a temporary shelter, but it’s clearly not a place to settle for long.
What I want is a bunker or shelter. A comfortable place where we can store supplies, that’s safe, inconspicuous, and expandable. At least a place where we don’t have to stay up on watch.
The problem is that all these bunkers are located within protected areas, and we’re not even sure if they’ve been built or not.
So until we identify the exact locations, we’ll have to wander around as nomads. Gathering more equipment, finding more safe houses.
After hearing my concerns, Camilla came up with a plausible solution. Although they might all be discovered and meaningless now, she suggested using hideouts and supply depots set up by the Central Liberation Corps, as well as abandoned military facilities they had been using before.
“Pillboxes? Bunkers? I’m not sure what to call them. Anyway, Elza has a lot of such facilities because of all the wars. They’re abandoned places, so if they haven’t been blown up, we could use them. I know many places. You know how it is? I can’t remember well in my head, but once I’m at the place, I think I’ll recognize it.”
“I take it back. We won’t be bored.”
“What did I tell you?”
Camilla smiled with relief. And then I remembered the critical problem with this plan.
“…But for that, we really need a good car.”
“Johan, that’s why we came to the city, right? To sell jewelry and alcohol to buy a car. There are plenty of cars themselves. It’s just that fuel is expensive. Fernando at the hotel counter said there would be many good ones for sale if we looked.”
“Hey, Camilla. You can get angry if you want, but please listen to me first. Okay?”
“Yes. What is it?”
“…To dispose of the rest of the jewelry, I think we need to go to a jeweler in the Hampton Safe Zone. The place I had arranged to meet with that female doctor.”
No matter how much I looked, I couldn’t find anyone buying jewelry secondhand. Well, with proper jewelers around, who would deal in secondhand precious metals?
Not only do you need equipment to distinguish between genuine and fake, but if one party pulls out a gun and goes bang, you either lose the jewelry or lose goods worth as much as the jewelry. That risk is considerable.
“Right. So?”
Camilla seemed to sense something was off and became a bit wary.
“To enter the jeweler’s, we need to pass through the safe zone gate. And without a password, it’s difficult to pass.”
“…And?”
“…But we happen to have some alcohol left, right?”
“…Yeah.”
Camilla seems to have guessed what I’m about to say. Her voice has already hardened, which is a sign.
“I think I need to meet that woman again tomorrow. With the excuse of getting a car and moving the alcohol to her house. It’s quite a lot.”
“Oh, is that all? So that’s why you told me not to get angry?”
Huh? This isn’t right. She’s not like this. Surprisingly accommodating.
“I thought you wouldn’t like it.”
“…I’m happy.”
“Huh? About what?”
Before answering my question, Camilla traced my cheek with her finger.
“That I seem to be at least a little bit in your heart.”
“Camilla, it’s more than you think.”
“Really?”
“That’s what a merger is.”
Camilla’s hand slipped inside my underwear. I thought she was going around to the back, but she grabbed my buttocks tightly like a claw.
“Ouch! Why suddenly?”
“Because it’s pretty.”
She grips tightly as if biting, then slowly releases.
“And I’m not that petty, you know? If it’s necessary, you should meet. And right now, it’s necessary. But Johan, isn’t there any other jeweler?”
“Remember that female doctor we video-called at the checkpoint? I arranged to meet her there. She’s a bit… strange, so I don’t know what she might do if we don’t keep the appointment.”
“Ah. Yes. She seemed… unpredictable. I remember. Well, selling the jewelry is important too. Okay. It’s fine. As long as I’m going with you.”
“Let’s just sort out the jewelry and leave Hampton right away.”
“Really? Then this is our last night in a bed. It was nice except for the slight vinyl smell.”
“We might be able to get a new bed.”
Camilla snuggled deeper into my arms. Tonight, it seems okay to just sleep like this. I’m tired, and Camilla must be too.
“…But Camilla, are you really okay with this? Don’t get angry when we meet that woman.”
“Ah, don’t worry about that.”
Camilla answered accommodatingly, just like before.
“I just want to memorize what she looks like.”
…Am I about to teach a sniper her target?
