Ch.7575. Electricity Connected
by fnovelpia
I had brought the Hair Growth Fruit, but there was a bit of a problem.
“Hmm. I need a recipe to turn this into a hair loss potion.”
Hair loss potion is one of the alchemy recipes.
As you learn alchemy and complete the village alchemist’s quests, you can eventually purchase the hair loss potion recipe. That’s when you use the Hair Growth Fruit at the alchemy workbench to make the potion.
The important thing is that the Hair Growth Fruit has no special effect if you just eat it as is.
[Hair Growth Fruit]
– Grade: A
– A fruit that causes hair growth when eaten. Excessive consumption changes your constitution to one that grows excessive hair.
– Becoming a hairy being permanently increases Strength, Agility, and Stamina by +1 grade.
Wait, is that right?
This is a bit different from the Hair Growth Fruit I know.
The hair growth part is the same, but I’ve never seen this option before where all stats except Magic Power increase by +1 grade when you become hairy. Must be due to the Rift Dimension’s effect.
“I could just sell it as is, right?”
Of course, since there’s no standard for what “growing hair” means, someone might think it’s fine at first glance.
Growing a bit more hair in exchange for raising three ability stats that money can’t buy might seem worth it.
In my case, with a +1 grade increase from my current state, I’d have all S+ stats with Agility reaching SS-.
But if the standard for “excessive” is based on Black Monkeys, few people would make that decision easily.
Most people would imagine someone with fluffy arm hair or chest hair extending down to their stomach.
You’d essentially have to give up your external appearance as a human.
“How much would it be worth?”
“Ugh… living as a monkey? That’s a bit… But with Strength, Agility, and Stamina +1 grade, some people might be willing to make that sacrifice…”
The world is obsessed with hunters.
Moreover, hunters are willing to try anything to raise their abilities by one grade.
In a world where people would become dogs if it meant raising their hunter rank or ability grade, there would definitely be those who wouldn’t mind looking like a monkey just for having a bit more hair.
“I wonder if bald people would prefer being covered in hair rather than having none?”
Since I don’t know their lives, I shouldn’t judge hastily.
For now, I decided to store it in the warehouse since I can’t use it for hair loss potion.
I’ll think about it later when I restore the village and invest points in alchemy or use a lifestyle skill selection. For now, I just set aside one Hair Growth Fruit for the auction.
The farm returned to peace.
Kim Sujeong and Lulu were surprised again by the Black Monkeys carrying leather, but they were delighted to hear that the monkeys would now follow their orders and put them to work in the fields.
“Wow, amazing! They work so well! Much better than the Goblings. Oh, you were listening. Sorry.”
The Goblings can handle small tasks like watering, plowing, and crop cultivation, while the Black Monkeys can be assigned to organizing the surroundings and tasks requiring strength.
They’re all slaves, just used according to their capabilities.
Only then could I finally organize my belongings.
It was now the third day since logging in.
“Phew. So busy.”
I hadn’t come in expecting to have more free time, but I didn’t think I’d spend two days without even being able to organize things.
Still, I was satisfied with what I’d gained.
I expanded my territory, planned to enlarge the Sunro Mushroom farm, and even acquired a Hair Growth Fruit orchard.
The eastern area had become a solid cash cow with premium mushrooms and Hair Growth Fruit.
The Star Fruits from the previous owner’s orchard apparently sold for quite a high price, though not as much as other items. I was thinking of harvesting them to make wine after aging.
Above all, I gained many levels from hunting hundreds of Black Monkeys.
I’d already reached level 15, and my accumulated farming stats were approaching 20.
Should I learn another skill?
I decided to hold off for now.
The farming points needed for defeating the Ogre could be easily recovered with items purchased with money earned on Earth.
I might need to unlock the hair loss potion recipe after opening the village, so I’ll keep the points saved for now.
Completing the main quest would give me another SSS+ ability, and I’d need to learn skills suited to that ability too.
“Let’s take care of household chores first.”
After one busy task, another awaits.
I needed to install solar panels on the roof. I’d learned how to install them, but when I sighed and opened construction mode, I discovered something surprising.
“What? This works?”
In the construction mode, which I opened to make the roof more convenient for panel installation, I saw that the solar panels I brought from Earth were listed as installable items.
This meant I wouldn’t have to carry them up and install them one by one with wiring.
“It really works!”
When I selected the solar panels and patched them onto the roof, they aligned themselves in neat rows and columns.
After filling the roof completely, it gleamed as if coated with solar panels, and my cabin displayed the amount of power stored.
“Huh…”
I hadn’t even unlocked the electrical system yet, but this worked with items brought from Earth.
That famous “freedom” seemed to apply not just in the game but in the Rift Dimension as well, which was both surprising and pleasing.
During the day, electricity accumulated quickly.
When I bought them, I was told they would generate enough power for an average household with plenty to spare as long as the sun was out, but the daily charging amount was even more than I expected.
Perhaps solar energy accumulates more here than on Earth due to the abundance of resources.
It seemed like I could run the air conditioner at full blast in summer without issues.
This should be enough even if it rained continuously for about two weeks.
With peace of mind, I installed the refrigerator I brought, along with a kimchi refrigerator and a freezer, making the kitchen finally look like a proper one.
For appliances of significant size, I initially worried whether I could bring them, but when I tried putting them in my belt, I found that the upgraded E-grade “medium” item standard could accommodate up to refrigerator-sized items.
It was a bit burdensome that the refrigerator, kimchi refrigerator, and ice cream freezer each took up one slot, but it was worth it for the convenience.
With the portable TV, air fryer, and microwave also set up, the cabin finally felt like a home.
“It feels like we’re at a vacation home. Hehehe. My dream was to build a cottage in a quiet countryside like this for my retirement. This is perfect. Oppa, let’s bring an air conditioner next time.”
“We definitely should. It’ll be summer soon.”
It’s been 20 days since the Rift Dimension started.
Of course, the Rift Dimension doesn’t divide 365 days into a year with four seasons.
Probably following the Farming World calculation method, seasons likely change every 30 days. If so, there’s a high possibility that it will be summer when I return after defeating the Ogre and logging out.
That’s only because this is a Level 0 biome, a temperate biome with four distinct seasons.
Anyway, since there are four seasons, unlike Earth’s gradual transitions, each season here has clear characteristics.
Summer is intensely hot.
Resources consumed to deal with the heat are enormous, to the point where summer and winter in the Farming World make users say it’s not a farming game but a survival apocalypse game.
Thorough preparation is necessary.
Still, with the electrical system unlocked and refrigerator and freezer in place, bringing an air conditioner should be enough to keep the house cool.
“Ahhh! It’s so cool!”
Lulu marveled at the refrigerator’s cool air.
To think such a thing exists!
It was also amusing to see her shiver after being put in the freezer for a moment.
I stored the Black Monkey meat in the freezer and all the food brought from Earth.
Now I can enjoy cold carbonated drinks.
“Ahh!”
After lunch, I opened a can of cola and downed it in one go, feeling the coolness and refreshment spread to the top of my head.
“All set.”
With the house organized, all that remained was hunting the Corrupted Ogre.
“When are we going?”
“When the +1 ability boost appears.”
We could go right away if we wanted.
But since it’s an S-grade monster, I wanted to be perfectly prepared.
Plus, being a boss-level creature, it would be even stronger than other S-grade monsters.
When the 8-hour buff gives +1 grade to abilities.
When my abilities are maximized.
I won’t wait too long.
If it doesn’t appear after farming the Corrupted Forest for a few days, even a +10% attack power buff would be acceptable.
And so, the next day…
[Agility +1 grade for 24 hours]
“I’m heading out.”
The day of the decisive battle had arrived.
