    Ch.72Ep.72 Along with the Gods

The Blind Idiot God is also known by another name: the Dull Darkness.

This is because he has been an unidentified something that existed since the beginning of time.

And because the decisions he made for himself were incredibly stupid or dull.

Even creating Yog-Sothoth and the other Outer Gods and Great Old Ones.

In the end, it was essentially the Blind Idiot God attempting suicide in a roundabout way.

The true name of this Blind Idiot God is none other than…

    “Azathoth…”

[I don’t appreciate you arrogantly calling my real name, but let’s overlook that for now.]

    “Suddenly, what’s going on?”

Radios was disturbed but tried his best to hide his fear as he spoke.

    Dull Darkness, they called it.

The darkness before him was so extraordinary that it couldn’t be considered normal darkness.

Not a single ray of light penetrated it—a void so empty that staying still made him feel like his very existence might disappear.

Although he was connected to it through the bond of being an apostle, it was nothing more than a one-sided relationship.

He hadn’t had a single conversation with it since Cthulhu.

So Radios maintained a defensive posture while waiting for the Blind Idiot God’s next words.

Even if only its thought-form remained, it was obvious that Radios would be no match for it.

He had no intention of speaking first, but that thought completely vanished due to fear.

For what reason had the Blind Idiot God summoned him into this endless darkness?

[Well. Why would I need a reason to call upon my apostle?]

“D-don’t lie. If you wanted to talk to your apostle, you could have spoken through the fragment.”

He remembered that was how they communicated during Cthulhu’s time.

    No, more than that.

“If conversation was possible like this… why have you been silent all this time?”

Despite becoming an apostle and even using Outer Devouring, the Blind Idiot God hadn’t uttered a word.

What made him so defensive? No, is “defensive” even the right word to describe this?

Though questions piled up like mountains, Radios didn’t ask them all.

Even with their relationship as apostle and god, he was completely in the subordinate position…

    ‘Or am I?’

Come to think of it, the Blind Idiot God had been betrayed by Yog-Sothoth and lost almost everything.

All that remained was a tiny thought-form embedded in the fragments.

But even this would be deleted if Yog-Sothoth destroyed Olympus.

‘Then doesn’t that mean I have the upper hand?’

If Radios pretended to be crazy and handed over the Divine Fragment: Replication to Yog-Sothoth.

The Blind Idiot God would be annihilated before he could do anything.

The problem is that such annihilation would include not just the Blind Idiot God but Radios as well.

It’s a threat that wouldn’t work anyway, so he really is in the subordinate position after all.

Anyway, that aside. The Blind Idiot God answered Radios’s question.

[I wanted to speak to you at any time, but doing so would have interfered with your path.]

    “What does that mean?”

[My choices always flow in unfavorable directions. That’s why I’m stupid and dull.]

“So this time you made a different choice to prevent things from going badly for me?”

Radios could sense that the Blind Idiot God was nodding, though he couldn’t see him.

It’s like those unlucky people who always pick the wrong option in a binary choice.

Like acting in opposition to one’s own intuition?

    And that means…

‘He interfered too much with the Outer Gods, which made things go wrong. Something like that, I guess.’

The desperation of not wanting to let go of this barely grasped thread of hope was almost palpable.

“Well, let’s put that issue aside… If you weren’t going to interfere, why did you call me here?”

[My fragments are stored in Yog-Sothoth’s domain. But they’re in different locations.]

The Blind Idiot God approached the matter of his fragments with extreme caution.

If even one were touched by others, it would signal Yog-Sothoth.

And if that happened, Radios would inevitably find himself in a situation where he’d be at Yog-Sothoth’s mercy.

[The boundary that exists as only one across past, present, and future… is like Yog-Sothoth’s heart.]

“Did you come just to warn me about that?”

[No, to tell you which fragment you need to recover first.]

The Divine Fragment was split into four pieces.

Radios recalled the power of Replication he possessed, and the power of Intervention that had invaded Namgung Ihyun’s past.

Then what were the remaining two powers?

[You have Replication, and Yog-Sothoth has Intervention, Iron Blood, and Infinity.]

“Replication, Intervention, Iron Blood, and Infinity, huh.”

[Among these, you must seize the Fragment of Infinity.]

    Divine Fragment: Infinity.

As one might guess from the name, using this fragment temporarily transforms everything—including magical power and physical strength—into an infinite state.

    Which means…

“So even if I use life force abundantly, it won’t be depleted?”

[Correct. But conversely, it’s also the most difficult fragment to use.]

    “I see…”

Knowing how difficult Yog-Sothoth must be, using this challenging fragment…

It would certainly be right to recover the Divine Fragment: Infinity.

“Then what about the powers of the other two fragments?”

[You’ve experienced Intervention, haven’t you? It allows interference in everything that happens in this world.]

As for Iron Blood, it’s hard to say it gives any special effect, but…

[I’m not sure how to explain it. But once you possess it, you’ll get a sense of what it feels like.]

    “Let me summarize then…”

Yog-Sothoth has left his post at the boundary that exists as only one across past, present, and future.

The guardian entities are unlikely to be a match for Radios.

All the elite Outer Gods have invaded the Underworld anyway.

Above all, would Yog-Sothoth have the capacity to worry about his base while dealing with Hades and Zeus?

In other words, if he attempts to break in now, there are two points to be careful about.

‘First, move as stealthily as possible. There’s no reason to cause a commotion.’

Second, from the moment he recovers the fragment, he needs to flee like mad.

[Given Yog-Sothoth’s divine order as a god of boundaries, it wouldn’t be strange for him to appear before you at any moment.]

“So the moment I touch the fragment, I need to run, right?”

[Of course, arriving at Kadinant won’t necessarily make you safe… but there is a way.]

    “..?”

Radios somehow felt that the Blind Idiot God was curling up one corner of his mouth right now.

The very brief silence gave the impression that he was trying to hold back laughter.

[Fragments resonate with each other. And you hold Replication.]

    “What does that mean?”

[Outer Devouring. Though it’s not even half of half its power yet, if you possess two fragments, it will work to some extent even on Yog-Sothoth.]

Outer Devouring was originally the final control mechanism created by the Blind Idiot God.

Of course, it became useless after Yog-Sothoth’s betrayal.

But someone who knows its power would keep their distance the moment Radios tries to use it.

[And if you aim for that moment to escape, everything will be over.]

“When I cross over to… Kadinant?”

[He’s a cautious being. The moment he realizes Outer Devouring exists, he’ll make a rational judgment first.]

Because no being wants to die.

“You said if I persevere, an opportunity would come eventually, but I didn’t expect it to be like this.”

    This is the optimal opportunity.

The enemy has left his base to attack another enemy, and what we desperately want exists in that base.

It would be difficult to design a more optimal situation even if we tried.

Radios had to restrain himself from laughing spontaneously.

He shouldn’t think he’s already succeeded.

Arrogance is the shortcut to failure and an act that blinds oneself.

“Thanks for the information. And… you can talk to me like this occasionally, so please do.”

[Hmm? Weren’t you uncomfortable with me?]

“I am, but you’re an ally for now.”

[With the premise ‘for now’ attached. Good, I suppose it’s better to doubt everything than to have no doubts at all.]

With the Blind Idiot God’s words, all darkness lifted and Radios returned to Kadinant.

At the same time, the discussion with Namgung Ihyun, Arsia, and Poseidon was still continuing.

Radios realized that time in Kadinant had been frozen during his conversation with the Blind Idiot God.

‘That’s an insane power. Yog-Sothoth, who betrayed something like this, must be…’

How powerful and how mad must he have been to commit such a bold act?

Anyway, putting that aside for now.

“Namgung Ihyun. Open a gate to Yog-Sothoth’s domain.”

[Radios. Didn’t you hear what we’ve been saying? This could be a trap!]

“It’s not a trap. Trust me and open it.”

When Radios gave the order, Namgung Ihyun had no choice but to follow his words.

Although it wasn’t an absolute command, there was nothing good about upsetting her master Radios.

    [Just don’t die…]

She opened the Necronomicon and began to chant the spell that would lead to Yog-Sothoth’s domain.

Then Arsia approached and whispered in his ear.

“I saw your future with my foresight. You seemed to be extremely shocked by something you saw.”

    “…What level of danger?”

“For now it’s about orange level, but… even that’s not certain.”

A color level indicating the need to be wary of enemy attacks. But that could change at any time.

The future is fluid, after all.

“Thanks. Using foresight repeatedly must be tough on you.”

“This is when I should use my power. Just come back safely, boss.”

    “I will.”

[Could you two stop flirting and just go already? It’s your magic being used anyway.]

    “I’ll be back.”

    *Smooch*

Radios suddenly planted a kiss on Arsia’s cheek and lunged toward the gate that Namgung Ihyun had opened.

Naturally, Arsia’s face turned bright red.

    “…Young love is nice.”

Poseidon left a gentle smile as if reminiscing about the past while watching the young couple’s affectionate gesture.
