Ch.7070. Overwhelming!
by fnovelpia
After the advance began.
The first to move were, naturally, the medium and large mid-tier monsters that formed the front lines of the monster army.
Primarily composed of Hive Tanks and Hive Fortresses, these creatures use their high durability, powerful firepower, and excellent close-combat abilities to serve as shields for other monsters.
They fire energy projectiles from cannons protruding from their backs, wiping out dozens of lower-tier monsters, while sweeping their feet to slaughter approaching monsters with their claw-shaped Hunter Claws.
Their elastic, long tails are surrounded by force fields and used as powerful bludgeons, while the laser blasters attached to their tips fire rapid lasers like machine guns.
While these tank-like monsters rampage at the front lines, other lower-tier monsters—Hive Infantry—hide behind them, demonstrating calm and efficient firing.
They wear laser shooters like arm guards, either concentrating fire on powerful single targets to wear them down, or focusing fire on mid-tier monsters to deplete their force fields and assist allied mid-tier monsters.
Some Hive Infantry carrying heavy weapons, though lacking in combat endurance, possess powerful single shots that allow them to somehow contend with mid-tier monsters despite being lower-tier themselves.
While Pyongyang’s forces, inferior in all aspects, were being cut down on the ground, a one-sided battle continued in the air as well.
Well aware of the importance of air superiority in modern warfare, I have all my aerial forces composed of Rank 4 units, whereas my opponent, the Pyongyang Hive Mind, primarily uses miscellaneous flying monsters.
Though they outnumber my aerial monsters by about three times, more than half of them are bizarre insect-type monsters barely reaching Rank 7.
To be frank, they look like centipedes with bat-like membrane wings, and true to their appearance, their close-combat abilities are ambiguous, while their ranged attacks are limited to shooting spines attached to their tentacles for suppression.
Whether they were originally created for reconnaissance or not, they can’t even scratch our Hive Wyverns no matter what they do, so we’ve already secured air superiority.
Actively utilizing this air superiority, I advanced my forces relentlessly.
I had Hive Wing Drakes pour explosives over the enemy’s heads, and ordered Hive Wyverns and Hive Gargoyles to attack ground enemies.
In areas emptied by these aerial attacks, I even dropped monsters from the air to encircle and annihilate the enemy—the results were remarkably effective.
In just one hour, I succeeded in crushing enemy resistance and advancing within 10km of Pyongyang, and after completely surrounding Pyongyang, I began operations to eliminate remaining forces in the occupied areas.
Although I was blocked by the various defensive bio-facilities plastered throughout Pyongyang, I still believe.
Once I completely annihilate the remnants rampaging in the rear and remove interfering elements, I can eliminate the Pyongyang Hive Mind with overwhelming force.

“Huff, huff, huff… Activate!”
Whirrrr—slash!
A man is fleeing through the dense forest between North Pyongan and Hwanghae Provinces, breathing heavily.
Thud.
“Hnngh…”
After activating his energy sword (a weapon with enhanced power due to energy surrounding its surface) shaped like a longsword to cut down a lunging monster, the man collapsed onto the ground—
‘That damn bastard…’
He quietly cursed the current president, the ‘damn bastard’ who dispatched him, a field agent of the National Intelligence Service, to this place.
He was sent because he was one of the few innocent agents who survived the purge of the National Intelligence Service after ‘that incident,’ but that doesn’t mean he’s strong by any means.
As a psychic user who barely qualified for C-rank, surviving in such a dangerous place is by no means easy, and consequently, he was currently barely clinging to life.
‘Still… there are results.’
But it’s not like the agent—was forcibly pushed into this assignment, and the moment he saw that sight, his sense of duty for humanity was fully charged.
‘If there are that many… South Korea is in danger.’
It’s understandable, given that he witnessed monster forces that completely covered the ground, clearly mimicking and imitating human armies.
‘What are those things?!’
He could see humanoid monsters that looked like hybrids of insects and reptiles skillfully performing Mozambique drills (shooting two rounds into the torso and one into the head for confirmed kills), and spider monsters with laser machine guns capable of cross-firing.
There were even monsters that raised cannon barrels on their backs like artillery and fired energy shells into the distance in large groups, and occasionally, monsters like organic attack helicopters (Hive Gargoyles) flew through the airspace across various frontlines.
Although he normally had the typical iron rice bowl mindset of avoiding troublesome situations, when faced with this situation, he even felt a sense of duty.
‘I must inform them!’
He needs to return to a communication-accessible area and inform the leadership of the truth he witnessed firsthand.
Anyway, back to the present.
‘Haaa…’
After sitting on the ground for a moment to catch his breath, the agent picked up his energy sword again and got up to leave the forest.
Although this forest was teeming with various wild monsters and occasionally patrolled by bomb spider monsters, they weren’t beyond his ability to handle.
Being a C-rank by the skin of his teeth meant he had mid-tier hunter level capabilities, and moreover, he had been issued various top-tier equipment.
The latest nano-machine suit NS-46 with high-end modifications gave him physical abilities equal to a humanoid mid-tier monster, along with various convenience functions for survival.
His psychic sword, shaped like a Western longsword, was made from the bones of an adult true dragon (Rank 3), giving it not only great durability but also the ability to amplify even a small force field from within.
Additionally, he was provided with two non-overheating plasma pistols as auxiliary weapons, which should at least keep him alive against enemies of similar caliber.
Step, step, step.
‘Huff… huff… huff… huff…’
He was steadily advancing, albeit slowly, along a forest path that was conveniently free of small shrubs and bushes—
“…Huh?”
—?!!!
At that moment, he unexpectedly encountered a humanoid monster with white and gold outer skin in the forest.
Both sides froze due to the sudden situation, creating a tense standoff.
But that only lasted for a moment.
Click—whirrrr!
Activate!
Starting with the humanoid monster (Hive Starlight) activating the booster on its back, the agent also turned on his energy sword, and the forest battle began.
The first strike, naturally, came from the monster who moved first.
She pointed what appeared to be energy shooters mounted on her arms toward the agent, using her boosters for evasive maneuvers while simultaneously attacking him with energy projectiles from her two extended energy shooters.
“Psychic barrier activate!”
Whirr!
Of course, the agent defended against the incoming energy shots with the psychic barrier generation function built into his nano-machine suit, and simultaneously gripped his longsword with both hands—quickly approaching her and swinging it.
—Clang!
Crackle…
Of course, that attack was defended by an energy sword the monster had deployed at some point.
The monster’s blade, composed entirely of energy, was incredibly high-density energy itself, so if it had been an ordinary weapon, the energy sword, which is just metal at its core, would have melted.
But as luck would have it, the weapon the agent was holding was made from the body parts of a high-tier Rank 3 monster, so while the monster’s energy sword blocked the attack, it was knocked backward by the repulsive force—
Hup!
The agent pursued the knocked-back monster as if chasing it and sliced off one of the monster’s booster wings with his sword, beginning a one-sided barrage of attacks against the monster.
Swing, swing, and swing again.
These attacks, disregarding defense, were truly meant to end the monster’s life in this opportunity—
—Slash!
As if seeing the light, the agent finally spotted an opening in the monster and dove in, completely decapitating it.
