    Ch.68Ep.68 Waterway vs. Chaos

    “Move quickly, quickly!”

    “Arsia. What is this…”

“No time to explain! If we make a mistake, everyone will die!”

    BOOM BOOM BOOM BOOM!

Arsia commands the retreat of the Guardian Spirits while burning away the chaos reaching toward them with will-o’-wisps.

For her, who could see approximate futures with her foresight, the chaos attacks weren’t much of a threat.

Though it would certainly be tricky if they came all at once.

By seeing the future and cutting down potential threats in advance, dangerous situations were prevented.

Arsia’s eyes fell on a man who was active at the frontline, cutting through the chaos.

    ‘Jirva D’Black, was it?’

The one who had been an ordinary slave at the labor camp before being rescued by Radios.

Just a few months ago, he was nearly malnourished, but now they say he’s reached the skill level of a Guardian Spirit commander.

Knowing how difficult it is to create something from nothing…

Arsia could somewhat grasp what Jirva had been through these past few months.

‘It seems the Guardian Spirits can stand on their own now, Captain.’

At this rate of growth, Jirva D’Black would become a reliable shield protecting the Guardian Spirits.

‘But why would Nyarlathotep choose this strategy…’

Right now, Kraud is busy dealing with Aldebaran and can’t focus on the battlefield.

If he were to return Aldebaran and join the battle, the tide would turn.

Even for Nyarlathotep, it would be impossible to block a joint attack from two beings with Divine Order.

Using all the Great Old Ones as sacrifices to manifest was a good move, but…

‘If there’s no chance of winning, he should either flee or attempt mutual destruction, so why Kadinant…’

    She stopped abruptly.

“Arsia? Why did you suddenly stop?”

Tiaran questioned her, puzzled by Arsia’s sudden halt, but she had no time to pay attention to Tiaran.

‘What if Kadinant itself is considered bait?’

The true purpose of the Outer Gods is to eliminate everything of the Blind Idiot God and absorb it to destroy the world.

    The only obstacle is Olympus.

“Could it be… they’re targeting the Underworld?!”

    And at that moment.

    “The time has come.”

Yog-Sothoth sensed that Nyarlathotep was causing chaos in Kadinant.

About 500 elite soldiers of the Outer Gods.

The Outer God stood before the barrier of the Underworld, having completed all preparations.

“From now on, we invade the Underworld.”

    CRACK CRACK CRACK.

As Yog-Sothoth emitted the Order of boundaries, the barrier of the Underworld began to shake.

The faith flowing from Kadinant to Olympus had long since hit rock bottom.

With the manifestation of the Great Old Ones and Nyarlathotep’s rampage, Kadinant itself had begun to collapse.

This resulted in further weakening the power of Olympus in the Underworld.

They said they would abandon Kadinant, but Kadinant was an inseparable part of them.

The air of the Underworld gives extreme disgust to the forces of the Outer Gods.

But if they could break through that disgust and conquer the Underworld…

“We can… take the world into our hands.”

    CRASH!

Just then, the barrier surrounding the Underworld completely shattered.

The guards managing the barrier were so shocked by the sudden invasion of the Outer Gods that they couldn’t take any action.

    “Annihilate them.”

    RUMBLE RUMBLE RUMBLE.

With Yog-Sothoth’s command, the Outer Gods’ invasion of the Underworld began.

    ***

‘This is going to be quite dangerous…’

Poseidon was in an increasingly precarious situation as she continued her power struggle with Nyarlathotep.

Triaina, not fully recovered, was gradually developing cracks.

Conversely, the chaos emanating from Nyarlathotep was becoming more and more fierce.

In a situation where it was difficult to expect support from anyone except Radios…

    “Poseidon!!”

“Finally you’re here, you son of a bitch…”

At last, Radios arrived at the battlefield, out of breath.

“You seem to have some immunity to cosmic horror.”

“…No time to talk about Olympus now. I’ll explain later. What should I do right now?”

    Olympus is the enemy.

And Poseidon is one of the three strongest members of Olympus.

But for now, she could only be an ally.

As long as Kraud couldn’t lend his strength to the battlefield, without Poseidon, there would be no one who could stop Nyarlathotep.

Poseidon, having also somewhat deduced the relationship between Radios and Olympus, indicated her willingness for a temporary truce.

“A wise decision. I don’t have perfect evidence yet, but… I suspect Nyarlathotep’s chaos comes from his eyes.”

    “Eyes?”

“Yes. You understand what I mean? I can only hold out for two more minutes, so hurry up and move!”

Startled by Poseidon’s shout, Radios quickly formed the Destiny Blade and leaped toward Nyarlathotep’s main body.

‘Damn. No matter what, how can anyone not feel sick looking at a body like that?’

What kind of creature has eyes numbering in the five digits?

‘I don’t know if my attack will even work on that thing, but…’

At least he had to try something.

    “HAAAAAAH!!”

First, Radios formed three Destiny Blades and aimed for Nyarlathotep’s eyes.

    THUNK THUNK THUNK!

    [UUUUUUUUUUU!!]

The creature seemed to feel pain as its disgusting mass of tentacles writhed and began to emit unstable magical energy.

    However, Radios couldn’t move properly.

    “BLEEEEEGH!”

The smell of the yellowish liquid that burst out after stabbing the creature’s eyes was revoltingly severe.

The feeling of nausea rose involuntarily even though he hadn’t eaten anything.

Even trying to endure it, the instinctive sensation scattered Radios’s mind.

“Pull yourself together, man! Are you planning to fall apart here?”

    “Ughhhh… damn it!”

Radios felt the urge to cut off his nose, but realizing it would just regenerate…

He got up, hearing Poseidon’s shout.

‘I’ll cut off all of its eyes.’

If it’s true that the creature’s chaos comes from its eyes…

    “Twilight Blade..!”

He could cause havoc without necessarily using the Destiny Blade.

[Don’t think about trying any foolish tricks!!]

Nyarlathotep, seemingly having noticed Radios’s intention, moved numerous tentacles to target him.

    BOOM BOOM BOOM BOOM!

The ground exploded, and Radios, hypnotizing himself, stabbed at Nyarlathotep’s eyes.

    “HAAAAAAAAAAH!!”

If he hesitated even slightly here, it would be over.

The moment he became conscious of smelling the odor, Radios would collapse without being able to take any action.

That’s the nature of cosmic horror.

    [You damned bastards..!]

Nyarlathotep seemed considerably flustered by the situation not going according to his plan.

Originally, he never imagined Poseidon would appear here.

He thought the relationship between Olympus and Radios had completely soured.

The main reason for making Veichel die at Radios’s hands was to sever the relationship between Hades and Radios.

[Nothing…! Nothing is going according to plan!]

    WHOOSH!

    “..?”

“What kind of trick are you trying to pull now?”

Poseidon frowned as the chaos that had been gradually eroding her attack disappeared.

    Radios felt the same way.

    Nyarlathotep must know too.

Right now, Poseidon’s Triaina was at its limit, and with just a little more time, he could finish her off.

So why suddenly withdraw all the chaos?

“You think… this is a trick?”

    “What else?”

“I’m sorry, but my role ends here.”

    DRIP DRIP.

Nyarlathotep, having returned to human form, began to melt away.

Everyone narrowed their eyes at the grotesque sight.

He certainly wasn’t dying, so there was only one possibility left.

“You pick a fight and then run away when you can’t win?”

“I’ve been planning my escape since the moment you showed up, what nonsense are you talking?”

    “Oh? Were you that scared?”

“You should worry about your brothers–“

    WHOOSH!

Just as Nyarlathotep was about to deliver his mocking advice with a sneer…

A sphere made of blood completely incinerated the melting Nyarlathotep.

“I will definitely kill that bastard… by any means necessary.”

    The culprit was Rin.

Having broken free from the cosmic horror, her pride had been severely wounded.

It wasn’t a difference in skill, nor a life-threatening crisis, but she had been frozen by mere fear.

To make matters worse, even her disciple Radios was running around fighting.

She felt ashamed that she had just stood there blankly watching the battle.

Poseidon was about to say something but noticed Rin’s state and kept her mouth shut.

‘In that state… well, she’ll eventually awaken her Divine Order.’

Without the wound she had inflicted on Nyarlathotep, they wouldn’t have achieved this result.

But the problem was the last words he left behind.

“When he said to be careful of his brothers…”

[Yog-Sothoth has probably invaded the Underworld.]

    “You are clearly…?”

[Namgung Ihyun. I was formerly Yog-Sothoth’s apostle, but as you can see, I’m in this state now.]

As Poseidon muttered to herself, Namgung Ihyun, who had appeared out of nowhere, resolved her doubts.

Yog-Sothoth had always wanted to invade the Underworld.

And the purpose of Nyarlathotep’s manifestation was likely a ploy to cover up the invasion of the Underworld.

[If you think about it, isn’t it strange that Nyarlathotep appeared here in the first place?]

“True… there were many questionable points about his appearance after annihilating the Great Old Ones–“

    THUD THUD THUD.

This time, Poseidon couldn’t finish her sentence.

    For good reason.

    “What’s… wrong with him now?”

“It seems like we’re in a bit… no, a very serious situation?”

    “Grrrrrrrr.”

    Though it sounded like a beast’s growl…

Its owner wasn’t a beast, but a goblin.

Yes, that goblin was none other than…

    “Lord Kraud…”

As the Scythe tattoo filled up completely, Kraud had lost his reason because of it.
