Ch.65[Episode 65] My Little Universe

Character cards that can be drawn from Gacha Land usually contain data that people need.

Pioneers in particular often obsess over this data.

Above all, if a character is good and has excellent performance that would make you feel twisted inside if you don’t get it?

You absolutely must have it to feel satisfied.

However, Stars draw character cards for slightly different reasons.

Whether it’s a kind of fan sentiment or special benefits.

While Pioneers focus on practical data they can use in reality, Stars often use character data in games they can play outside or simply collect them.

Especially if a Star has their own “world,” adding this data enriches their experience—completing what’s known as “my own little world.”

Though their reasons differed, the obsession with desired cards was equally intense, beyond comparison.

For this reason, the Card Pack Exchange was currently engulfed in a tremendous whirlwind of madness.

“Why am I the only unlucky one? Why am I the only unlucky one? Why am I the only unlucky one?”

“I’ve hit the pity ceiling 24 times, and a clock strikes 24 times when a day passes, so why haven’t I gotten one?”

“Sir Dominic exists! Look for him! I left Sir Dominic there!”

    “I-am happy… I-am happy… I-am happy… Even if I can’t… can’t draw him… happy…”

And the people at the center of this madness were all buried in the remnants of card packs.

    “What’s wrong with them?”

A Star who entered the crowded exchange shouted in surprise at the chaotic situation.

“Seems the new card that came out is ridiculously hard to get. Maybe because it’s a tank?”

    “Really? Well, life is tough.”

    Not everyone was like that.

Winning at all costs is enjoying it.

The one who simply enjoys is the winner.

This dichotomy was common in Gacha Land.

The former group ran so desperately to draw Sir Dominic’s card they could uproot the palace pillars, while the latter simply stopped at a reasonable point.

Those who came to the exchange just to enjoy the event period lightly.

“My turn. I hope I get a petite pretty girl card. Lately I’ve been getting too many voluptuous female characters and it’s a bit overwhelming.”

“True. Lolis are performance characters after all.”

Stars moving to the exchange counter with light laughter.

    Fate is truly cruel.

While whispering hope until the end to those who desperately cling, it throws luck like bait to those who don’t care.

Through the gap in the pack of a Star who had only spent on 10 pulls, brilliant rainbow light was flowing out.

    SSR guaranteed. The Star muttered.

    “Sign here please.”

After signing a star shape on the card pack as per the current trend, the pack opened.

This is what makes it so appealing.

The Star watched the card pack reveal without skipping the effect.

Although they didn’t expect much since duplicate data would skip the appearance animation, who knows if a new animation might appear?

From the opened card pack, brilliant rainbow light flowed and cards appeared.

Ten cards floating in the sky.

    The Star’s eyes widened.

Three gold cards and two rainbow cards.

    Clearly a good pull.

With trembling hands, the Star pressed the cards without any light one by one.

    [★ Porter Hines][1 Cost]

    [★ Porter Hines][1 Cost]

    [★ Porter Hines][1 Cost]

    [★ Porter Hines][1 Cost]

[★ Park Chunbae, Pride of Gaeam 3-dong][2 Cost]

As expected. These always appear when opening starter packs. They didn’t expect anything.

    Better look at these.

Saving the two brilliant rainbow cards for last, they flipped the three gold cards.

    Suddenly, the view went dark.

Brown and light brown lines passed by, and new text began to appear on the darkened screen.

‘I feel like I could die from happiness. Or die if I’m not happy.’

    “Oh. A new character?”

The Star carefully observed the new character’s animation.

    Colorful feathers.

An eye covered with an eyepatch.

    A snowy fortress.

    A flag fluttering behind.

Finally, the bottom of a shield stamped on the ground with a thud, revealing the entire screen.

A knight standing with a shield against the background of a snowy fortress.

“Pleased to meet you. I am Sir Dominic of Feralant.”

The Star thought it was quite an elaborate animation.

Sir Dominic’s image barely moved, as if breathing, but the massive space battleship passing behind the fortress and each supporting character moving in the fortress created what could be called a thrilling experience.

    “Not bad.”

In fact, this Star didn’t know about Sir Dominic, and even if they had, they wouldn’t have cared since they wouldn’t expect to draw him, but now that they had, they thought he seemed worth it.

Of course, those behind them knew how much of a hot topic Sir Dominic was, and soon an apocalypse of mixed envy, jealousy, offers, and threats broke out.

“Hey! Sell me that card. I’m short on Gacha Stones, but I’ll give you 10 three-star cards when I get back!”

    “Just 10? I can give you 30!”

“Want to trade for Gacha Stones? Want to trade for points?”

“If you don’t want to get hurt, you’d better hand it over to me right now!”

The Star realized something was wrong.

People surrounded the Star, but fortunately, the Card Pack Exchange had safety measures for such customers.

    “Come this way!”

The elf employee behind the counter quickly pulled the Star inside.

Others tried to cross the counter and start a riot, but a barrier that appeared at the counter blocked them.

    “My goodness.”

The Star could vividly witness a scene they had only seen in zombie apocalypse movies.

“Why on earth are they acting like this?”

“Well, the card you drew is in an extremely unique state.”

    “How unique exactly?”

“The probability goes down to seven decimal places.”

    “…”

The Star understood why they were so frenzied.

“Anyway, for your safety, we’ll leave through the back door. Don’t worry, the back door opens to a different location each time. You should be careful for a while.”

The elf employee said this as they led the Star who drew Sir Dominic through a secret door.

    “Wow, I’m so jealous…”

And another Star watching this scene.

I’m Not Little, a Star in the form of a girl, looked enviously at the Star who drew Sir Dominic.

She had received a waiting ticket in advance to exchange Gacha Stones, so she could enter right away when it was her turn.

She wasn’t sure how many cards were left, but seeing those spending national-budget-level Gacha Stones to draw Sir Dominic made her lose confidence.

But as a fan of Sir Dominic, her pride wouldn’t allow her to give up without trying.

    “Come to think of it…”

I’m Not Little recalled another Sir Dominic she had just met.

    Lady Dominica, was it?

I’m Not Little had never seen Sir Dominica before, but she felt her fan loyalty to Sir Dominic waver for a moment.

However, I’m Not Little, a Star of firm resolve, erased the thought, telling herself that Sir Dominic was her one pick.

Wait, if Sir Dominica is Sir Dominic from a parallel world, wouldn’t being her fan still make her a fan of Sir Dominic?

Moreover, why must she pick just one? Couldn’t she remain a fan of both?

    The instinct within her whispered.

No, how much money have you spent since becoming Sir Dominic’s fan? How much more would you need to spend to be Sir Dominica’s fan too?

    Her reason advised.

And you call yourself Sir Dominic’s fan? If you’re a fan of Sir Dominic, you should like his derivative characters too!

    Her instinct said.

Sir Dominica has only shown one cool moment so far. How cool has Sir Dominic been all this time!

Her reason lost its reason and spoke.

Ugh, goodness. I’m Not Little shook her head.

Her mind was becoming increasingly complicated.

It’s all because of this event.

I’m Not Little, still having some reason left, decided to like Sir Dominica as well once her broadcast grew bigger and her wallet became more comfortable.

Being Sir Dominic’s fan already cost quite a bit.

    Sorry, Sir Dominica!

“Um, customer? Why don’t you sit down meow?”

Ah. I’m Not Little came to her senses at the cat beastkin’s call.

It was her turn, but she had been standing blankly, too focused on her thoughts.

Though her face burned with embarrassment, I’m Not Little brazenly took her seat.

“What pack do you want meow?”

The cat beastkin had to add “meow” at the end of sentences due to some law.

Sometimes there were cat beastkins who mixed in informal speech, but generally people let it slide thinking, well, that’s how cats are.

I’m Not Little was too embarrassed to notice the cat beastkin’s informal speech.

Instead, she stated the pack she wanted.

“Um, do you have any Starter Packs and Knight Packs left?”

The Star who only broadcasted from her room found the rare communication awkward.

Hadn’t she run away out of embarrassment when talking to Sir Dominic and Sir Dominica too?

Fortunately, this cat beastkin employee was a professional.

“Plenty meow. You want those meow?”

“[Starter Pack MMCIV], [Knight Pack CLII] this many please.”

I’m Not Little specified exactly which packs she wanted.

It was an unexpectedly little-known tip, but if you just asked for a Starter Pack or Knight Pack, you’d get them mixed with old stock.

Adding the specific details increased the probability.

“It’s been a while since someone who knows how to trade properly came meow.”

The cat beastkin took the Gacha Stones and handed over the packs.

Four Starter Packs, three Knight Packs.

    A total of 7 packs, 70 pulls.

I’m Not Little took a deep breath and signed the first card pack.

    Fate is truly cruel.

But sometimes, fate bestows rewards like charity to those who are desperate.

    “Oh my…”

I’m Not Little was a bit disappointed at the leaking golden light, but Sir Dominic was a gold card.

Maybe this is better. As Star I’m Not Little thought this, she saw 10 gold cards floating up as soon as she opened it.

And finally when one opened and then two, I’m Not Little covered her mouth and let out a beast-like scream of joy.

And when the third opened, she let out a cheer.

    [★★ Sir Dominic][5 Cost]

    [★★ Sir Dominica][5 Cost]

    [★★ Sir Dominic][5 Cost]

    Again, fate is cruel.

But sometimes, it gives rewards beyond luck to those who are desperate.

I’m Not Little blankly watched the animation appearing before her eyes, thanking Sir Dominic and Sir Dominica.

Surely today’s luck came because she had met them both.

She resolved again to become a fervent fan of both.
