    Ch.6463. The Imperial Princess (7)

    # 63. The Imperial Princess (7)

“Wait… did he just dodge that?”

Eve was shocked to see her bullet cleanly split in two.

    Rachel, however, remained composed.

“I told you, those things don’t hit him.”

“I never thought it would literally be cut in half like that…”

Eve was even more stunned because she had witnessed the scene clearly with her [Eyes That See Ten Miles].

“Is he some kind of monster?”

“He’s probably in the same category as the Imperial Princess since he’s a monster too. More importantly, what are those people doing now?”

At Rachel’s question, Eve immediately used her [Eyes That See Ten Miles] to observe them.

The people Eve saw were currently heading toward the hill where they were hiding.

    “They’re coming this way.”

    “Huh? How do they know?”

“They’re definitely coming in our direction. What should we do?”

The members of Team 2 each shared their thoughts.

    “Let’s just fight them.”

“What nonsense! We should run away.”

People were divided between those who wanted to fight and those who wanted to flee, but there were clearly more people advocating for escape.

Due to their usual image, most couldn’t even consider fighting against the Imperial Princess or Albert.

Rachel spoke to those waiting for her decision.

“Alright, let’s run. Go straight down and run as fast as you can.”

As soon as she finished speaking, everyone ran with all their might to escape from that place.

    Eve, watching them flee, asked:

    “Aren’t you going, Your Highness?”

“I have something I want to try.”

Rachel raised her hand high toward the sky in the direction where they could be seen as tiny figures in the distance.

Then she used her unique skill, [Two Suns].

A small ball of flame appeared in her raised hand.

    -Whoosh!-

Despite its small size, the sphere contained tremendous magical power and grew rapidly as time passed.

    “Wow…”

Overwhelmed by its enormous size, Eve couldn’t help but step back.

A sphere so large that anyone would have to call it a “sun.”

Rachel hurled the massive sun with all her might toward where they were.

Then she asked Eve, who was watching the spectacle with her mouth open:

“Eve, could you shoot that with your [Magic Bullet]?”

    “Oh… Yes! Got it.”

Eve, finally coming to her senses, aimed her gun at the sun.

    -Bang!-

Unlike when she shot at Albert earlier, she created a bullet with magic power, and it quickly flew and hit the sun.

The sun then began to fly at an incomparably faster speed than before.

“Let’s escape too. There’s no way they can block something like that.”

After confirming this, Eve and Rachel followed after their teammates who had already left.

    ***

    “This sword?”

“Yes, it gives me chills every time I look at it.”

She was quite wary of this sword.

Perhaps because she had more holy power than others, she seemed more sensitive to the abyss.

    “It wasn’t this bad before…”

“It’s because the skill evolved to become like this.”

    “Evolved? Your unique skill?”

She tilted her head curiously, and I nodded.

“That’s fascinating… But what are the sword’s stats?”

Even though she was cautious, her curiosity couldn’t be helped.

“In its current state, it gives Strength 70, Agility 70.”

    “What?!”

    “70 and 70.”

She stared at the sword with an incredulous expression.

    “That’s such a broken skill…”

    “More importantly, what is that?”

Elin pointed at the sun floating high in the sky.

    “That’s a sun, what else?”

“Where would a sun be here?”

“Oh… you’re right. What is that?”

Come to think of it, we were inside an artificially created set.

Yet there was a huge sun inside this set.

I wasn’t sure if it was my imagination, but it seemed to be flying toward us.

And then, unexpected words flowed from her mouth.

    “That’s Rachel’s second unique magic.”

    “What? That thing?”

Unlike Elin who couldn’t believe it, I was already aware of that skill.

    [Two Suns]

This skill, Rachel’s identity, was the great skill that allowed the militarily weak Orion Kingdom to survive among other powerful nations.

It was an enormous size, especially for something that had awakened recently.

I gripped my sword, which had transformed into a greatsword, and said:

    “I’ll block it.”

Though her [Absolute Zero] could block it too, I just wanted to try.

I was curious if my abyss could devour such a monstrous magic.

I slowly filled my sword with the abyss.

    -Woong! Woong!-

The abyss contained in the sword manifested in a form similar to a swordsman’s aura.

    ‘It wasn’t like this before…?’

Of course, I had filled it with an incomparably larger amount of abyss than before.

Perhaps this happens when the amount of abyss exceeds what the sword can contain.

    ‘It’s just like an aura…’

It was identical to the auras of swordsmen.

The similarity was that it wouldn’t show on the sword until a certain amount was exceeded, and only then would it appear in this form.

And the fact that it could be released in various forms.

“An aura…? It seems too dark for that…”

As she said, it was too dark to be called an aura.

I aimed the sword emitting that pitch-black aura toward the sun.

    And then.

    -Bang!-

A clear gunshot was heard from somewhere.

With that gunshot, the sun’s speed increased dramatically.

I looked at the suddenly accelerated sun and swung my sword powerfully.

    -Swish!-

As I swung my sword, a pitch-black slash appeared from it, cutting through the air at a terrifying speed and colliding with the sun.

Then an amazing sight unfolded before our eyes.

    -Slurp…-

The slash began rapidly devouring the sun it had collided with.

The deep, deep abyss was contaminating the sun, which had been in the form of a large sphere.

The sun gradually lost itself, and the abyss grew larger as it devoured it.

    -Flare… flare…-

I blankly watched as that brilliant light gradually disappeared, and those beside me—her, Elin, and the members of Team 11—likewise couldn’t take their eyes off the spectacle.

But that moment of appreciation didn’t last long.

“What is… that? It’s coming back toward us?”

As she said, the abyss that had completely devoured the sun was returning at that terrifying speed.

The team members who faced this horrifying scene fled, but I calmly explained the truth.

“That’s how the abyss works. Even if I release it, it eventually returns. Since this sword is made of the abyss, it returns to me wherever I am when I cancel the summoning.”

That was different from aura and holy power.

Those two powers, similar to magic power, are consumed when used and then regenerate, but the abyss is not like that.

The abyss always maintains its total amount, and if released in any form, it is destined to return to its owner.

    -Slurp…-

I welcomed the abyss that returned to find its master, and the dog that had left home came back.

    ‘It feels somehow familiar.’

Perhaps because it came from within me, like my alter ego, it felt very familiar.

“It’s kind of creepy, the way it seeps back into your body…”

“Don’t call it creepy. It’s actually quite cute.”

    “What are you saying…”

Elin wore a genuinely dumbfounded expression.

I was slightly hurt but spoke nonchalantly as if it didn’t matter.

“But I don’t think they’ll be there if we go, do you?”

“I doubt it. They probably used it to buy time and escaped.”

Indeed, it was a good judgment worthy of a war expert.

‘But she already figured that out. Is it written in the skill description?’

Rachel had already realized that stimulating the sun with magic power would dramatically increase its speed.

It might be written in the skill description, but the fact that she had already used it in practice was commendable.

    “What should we do now?”

“Let’s check that hill first. They probably won’t be there, but there’s a small chance they might be, and there’s no harm in securing high ground.”

As she said, in a survival situation where guerrilla warfare is predominant, the side that secures high ground always has the advantage.

And with her expertise in defense, it would be even more advantageous.

Elin could also play a significant role…

    ‘Then what will I do?’

For some reason, I had an ominous feeling that I would just be standing beside them, sending out slashes with the abyss.

If we secured that hill and “camped” there, we could easily win, but I didn’t want to do that.

While I was thinking this, Elin, who had an opinion opposite to mine, said:

“Then can’t we just set up on that hill and hold out? It seems like we could easily get first place that way…”

“Are you scared? You want to get first place with such a petty method?”

I absolutely didn’t want to get first place that way.

Besides being no fun, it was a matter of pride.

Fortunately, she seemed to share my thoughts and supported my opinion.

“It would certainly be boring that way, and it would hurt our pride.”

    “Then what should we do…?”

When the dejected Elin asked, she replied with a confident expression:

    “We’ll go hunting for them.”
